Williams was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse by the Mets after being acquired in a trade with the Cubs on Friday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

The Mets presumably wanted Williams to bolster their rotation depth, but they don't actually need that depth right now. He'll wait in the minors until called upon, though the news that Jacob deGrom (forearm) suffered a setback Friday could mean Williams is needed sooner rather than later.

Mikolas (forearm) fired four scoreless innings during Triple-A Memphis' win over Gwinnett on Thursday, allowing three hits and a walk while recording two strikeouts.

Mikolas worked up to 58 pitches, 36 which he threw for strikes, after throwing about 45 between his first rehab start and a post-outing bullpen session with the Redbirds on Saturday. Now sporting an unblemished ERA over seven rehab frames, Mikolas will look to keep that streak going and likely boost his pitch count to the 65-70 range in his next start with Memphis.

DeGrom (forearm) underwent an MRI on Friday that revealed right forearm inflammation, Justin Toscano of The Bergen Record reports.

DeGrom will be shut down from throwing for two weeks before he's re-evaluated by the medical staff. While the right-hander had been throwing side sessions recently, the Mets are now targeting a return to game action sometime in September.

Lorenzen (hamstring) was activated from the 10-day injured list Friday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Lorenzen landed on the shelf with a hamstring injury after making his season debut July 17, but he was able to make a quick recovery. The right-hander figures to be a significant bullpen piece for the Reds down the stretch if he can stay healthy.

Williams and Javier Baez were sent from the Cubs to the Mets in exchange for Pete Crow-Armstrong on Friday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.

Williams could give the Mets' rotation depth for now but may move to the bullpen down the stretch as the team gets healthier. He hasn't been particularly good in 12 starts and one relief appearance for the Cubs this season, posting a 5.06 ERA and 1.53 WHIP, and he hasn't finished with an ERA below 5.00 since 2018.

Gibson was traded from the Rangers to the Phillies along with Ian Kennedy for an undisclosed package Friday, Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports.

Gibson is in the midst of a career year, sitting with a 2.87 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 94 strikeouts in 113 innings (19 starts). He was slated to start Saturday, so it's possible he slots right into the Phillies' rotation this weekend in Pittsburgh, perhaps Sunday in place of Spencer Howard.

Keller was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis on Friday, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

The 25-year-old has been in the minors since mid-June and will rejoin the big-league roster ahead of this weekend's series versus the Phillies. Keller last pitched for Indianapolis on July 24, and he finished the stint at Triple-A with a 3.21 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 39:13 K:BB over 28 innings. It's not clear when he'll take the mound, though he could slot into the rotation Sunday since Pittsburgh has yet to announce a starter for that day.

Corbin didn't factor into the decision in the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against the Phillies, allowing four runs on eight hits and a walk across five innings. He struck out two.

Corbin had issues with the long ball and gave up homers to Rhys Hoskins, Andrew McCutchen and Alec Bohm, but the struggles of Phillies starter Cristopher Sanchez allowed Corbin to avoid what would've been his 10th loss of the season. The veteran lefty has been pitching poorly of late, and he has allowed at least four earned runs in four of his last five outings while posting a 7.18 ERA across 26.1 innings during that stretch.

Suarez (5-3) earned the win during the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against the Nationals after allowing one unearned run on two hits and a walk across one inning. He struck out two.

Suarez pitched the eighth inning, and while he allowed three baserunners, he still ended being credited with the win after Brad Miller smashed a walkoff grand slam in the bottom of the eighth. Suarez has gone just 4-for-7 in save chances this season but has allowed just two earned runs over his last 10 appearances and owns a 1.59 ERA in that span.

Sanchez didn't factor into the decision in the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against the Nationals after allowing four runs on three hits and a walk across one-third of an inning. He struck out one.

Sanchez was recalled to make the first start of his big-league career, but he struggled mightily and couldn't even escape the first inning. The southpaw has made five appearances for the Phillies on the season and the results haven't been encouraging, as he's posted an 8.22 ERA and 2.35 WHIP through 7.2 innings. He's expected to be returned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
