Stroman (9-12) picked up the win in Sunday's 7-2 victory over the Dodgers, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks with six strikeouts in six innings.

New York scored three runs in the first inning off Los Angeles starter David Price, and that proved to be all the support Stroman needed on the day. The 30-year-old retired 15 of 17 batters faced outside of the fourth inning, the frame during which Stroman permitted both runs and four total baserunners. He's now recorded a decision in nine straight starts, a stretch that's seen Stroman go 3-6.

Houser allowed one unearned run on three hits and two walks over 3.1 innings in Sunday's win over Washington. He struck out two and did not factor in the decision.

It was Houser's first outing since Aug. 3 after nearly three weeks on the COVID-19 injured list. The only run he allowed Sunday came in the third inning on a throwing error by Manny Pina. Over his last four outings, the 6-foot-3 righty has allowed one earned run over 16.2 innings (0.54 ERA) with a 10:9 K:BB. Houser is lined up to face the Twins on the road next weekend, and he should be able to work deeper into the game.

Gibson (9-5) allowed one earned run on six hits and one walk while striking out three across eight innings, earning the win over the Padres on Sunday.

Gibson allowed a pair of doubles to start the game, leading to a run in the first inning. However, he proceeded to post seven straight scoreless innings and completed eight innings for the third time this season. The only downfall is that he struck out just three batters. The 33-year-old has a 3.77 ERA and 1.32 WHIP with 19 strikeouts in 31 innings since joining the Phillies. He has five quality starts in his last six outings.

Syndergaard (elbow) is expected to begin a rehab assignment this week, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Syndergaard threw a pair of live batting practice sessions recently, and he'll take another step by returning to game action this week. The Mets haven't yet announced where the right-hander will begin his rehab assignment or when he'll make his first appearance, but he shouldn't require much time to build up his workload since he's expected to serve as a reliever once he's activated.

Pirates general manager Ben Cherington said Sunday that Contreras (forearm) recently faced hitters in a live batting practice session, Jake Crouse of MLB.com reports.

Contreras is scheduled to throw another live BP this week before he's cleared to return to game action. The Pirates could send Contreras out on a brief rehab assignment in the rookie-level Florida Complex League to have him build up his pitch count before he returns from the 7-day injured list at Double-A Altoona. Over his nine starts with Altoona prior to being shut down with a right forearm strain, Contreras posted a 2.35 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 65:11 K:BB In 46 innings.

Lodolo (shoulder) struck out the side in a perfect inning in his start Sunday for Triple-A Louisville.

Since Lodolo had been out of action for nearly two weeks with a sore left shoulder, his workload was capped in his return to the Louisville rotation. Even though he was limited Sunday, Lodolo was still mightily impressive in the outing, pumping in all 11 of his pitches for strikes while facing the minimum. He'll likely have a longer leash the next time his turn in the rotation comes up, though Lodolo shouldn't be expected to work more than 3-to-4 frames.

Mejia will be called up to start Monday's game against the Pirates, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

Mejia was promoted to Triple-A Reno in early June, and he recorded a 5.93 ERA and 1.61 WHIP in 54.2 innings across 12 starts. He made three starts for the Marlins last year and will make a spot start during Monday's series opener in Pittsburgh.

Peralta (shoulder) played catch Sunday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Peralta's throwing session Sunday was the first time that he had thrown since he was placed on the 10-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation Thursday. Manager Craig Counsell said Sunday that he's pleased with the right-hander's progress so far, and he's optimistic that Peralta will be able to return following a minimal stay on the 10-day IL.

Gallen took a no-decision Saturday in the Diamondbacks' 5-2 loss to the Rockies after tossing seven shutout innings. He scattered three hits and one walk while striking out nine.

Gallen outdueled Colorado starter Kyle Freeland (two runs allowed over seven innings) and departed with the lead, but the Arizona bullpen was unable to seal the deal and kept the right-hander out of the win column for a 13th consecutive start. On the bright side, the nine strikeouts established a new season high for Gallen, and for at least one start, he navigated the unfavorable confines of Coors Field and solved the home-run problems that had been troubling him of late. Gallen had yielded eight gopher balls across his last five starts.

Freeland took a no-decision in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Diamondbacks after striking out a season-high 10 over seven innings. He surrendered two runs on six hits and a walk in the 90-pitch start.

Freeland submitted one of the best outings of his season -- at Coors Field, no less -- but he had the misfortune of the Rockies' bats not waking up until the late innings. The southpaw departed with a 2-0 deficit before Colorado tied the score in the bottom of the eighth, then won the game on Elias Diaz's walkoff, three-run home run. Though Freeland was denied a fourth straight win, he continued to build his case for being one of the more underrated fantasy standouts of the season with another strong performance. Over his last 11 outings, Freeland has turned in seven quality starts while posting a 2.53 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 8.6 K/9.
