Gutierrez tossed 3.1 innings, giving up five runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out three in Monday's win over the Pirates. He didn't factor into the decision.

The 26-year-old allowed consecutive home runs to Yoshi Tsutsugo and Bryan Reynolds in the first inning and didn't really recover after that, surrendering three more runs in the third inning. He gave up five runs for the second time in five starts. After posting six straight quality starts from July 27 to Aug. 22, Gutierrez has struggled to an 8.84 ERA and 1.75 WHIP in 18.1 innings over his last five outings.

Luzardo pitched four innings, surrendering five runs on six hits and four walks while striking out two in Monday's victory over the Nationals.

The 23-year-old allowed four runs through four innings and was pulled after two reached base against him to open the fifth inning, one of whom would score. It was his second straight sub-par start, both of which were against the Nationals. In those two games, he has allowed nine runs, 13 hits and six walks over 8.1 innings. Luzardo will look to right the ship in his next expected start versus the Rays on Sunday.

Suarez (6-5) allowed two runs on seven hits and a walk over six innings Monday, striking out five and taking a loss against the Orioles.

Suarez allowed a pair of runs in the first inning but settled in for five scoreless frames after that. Unfortunately for him, his offense mustered just four hits against Baltimore's staff in the shutout loss. Suarez has given up two or fewer runs in each of his last six outings, lowering his season ERA to a stellar 1.60 through 90 innings. The 26-year-old southpaw is projected to face the Pirates at home this weekend.

Mejia was recalled from Triple-A Reno on Monday ahead of his start versus Atlanta.

The 24-year-old was previously announced as Monday's starting pitcher, so it was only a matter of time before he was officially added to the big-league roster. Mejia has a 4.91 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 10:3 K:BB over 11 frames in his two starts for Arizona this season, both of which came in late August.

Meyer will join Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

The 2020 third-overall pick jumped straight to Double-A to begin his professional career this year and impressed over 20 starts. His 2.41 ERA comes with a 27.2 percent strikeout rate and a 52.7 percent groundball rate, which have more than offset a slightly high 9.6 percent walk rate. He'll spend a brief period of time in Jacksonville before the end of the season and will likely open next year at the same level, but he could push for a big-league debut sometime early in the season if he impresses in his early Triple-A starts.

Lopez (shoulder) will throw a bullpen session Tuesday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Lopez faced hitters Saturday and will participate in mound work once again Tuesday. A clear timetable for the right-hander's return hasn't been established, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him resume a rehab assignment shortly after Tuesday's throwing session.

Woodford won't start Monday against Milwaukee as previously expected but is listed as Tuesday's starter instead, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

The move keeps Jon Lester on schedule and will result in Woodford getting an extra day of rest. Woodford still has a good chance at a two-start week, as he's now lined up to start against the Cubs on Sunday.

Lauer didn't factor into the decision Sunday against the Cubs after allowing one run on 5.1 innings, giving up one hit and three walks while fanning six.

Lauer has been pitching at a high level of late, allowing one or fewer runs in each of his previous four starts while also posting two quality starts in that stretch. He has gone 2-0 with a blistering 1.09 ERA in September and seems to be gearing up for a strong end of the regular season.

Gonsolin tossed 2.1 innings out of the bullpen in Sunday's 8-5 win over the Reds, giving up three runs on three hits and two walks while striking out two.

Gonsolin was denied a second start of the week after the Dodgers opted to use him Sunday behind Clayton Kershaw, who was on a limited pitch count in his second outing since returning from the 60-day injured list. While the setup still seemingly put Gonsolin in favorable position to potentially scoop up a win, Kershaw ended up being the pitcher of record after he departed with a 6-1 lead after five innings. Gonsolin should slot back into the Los Angeles rotation when a fifth starter is next needed Saturday in Arizona.

Gallen didn't factor into the decision Sunday against the Astros after allowing four runs on five hits and a walk while fanning seven across six innings.

Gallen couldn't post what would've been his third quality start over his last four appearances, and it's also worth noting he has now given up at least three earned runs in each of those four contests as well. The right-hander has been a bit inconsistent of late and owns a 5.50 ERA across three starts (18 innings) this month. However, given that his last two starts have come against the Dodgers and Astros, his latest struggles aren't that surprising.
