Gibson (10-8) took the loss in Sunday's 3-2 defeat at the hands of the Mets, allowing three runs on seven hits and a walk with nine strikeouts in 6.2 innings.

Gibson was rolling early before surrendering two runs in the fifth and one in the seventh to ultimately fall in line for the loss. The defeat is Gibson's third in his last four starts, though Sunday's outing was easily his best of the bunch. The 33-year-old lines up to face the Pirates on Friday in his next start.

Hill got a no-decision in Sunday's 3-2 win over Philadelphia, allowing two runs on six hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in 4.2 innings.

Hill permitted some traffic on the bases but limited the damage to a single run in the first and fifth innings. The start is his shortest since back on Aug. 16, and Hill has been solid of late despite not pitching deep into games with a 2.49 ERA in four starts this month.

DeSclafani (12-7) allowed two earned runs on six hits while striking out six across six innings, taking the loss to Atlanta on Sunday.

DeSclafani fired six scoreless innings, but failed to record an out in the seventh after allowing a pair of runs. He surrendered a two-run homer to Adam Duvall. The 31-year-old has allowed just six earned runs in his last four starts. On the season, he has a 3.23 ERA and 1.09 WHIP with 146 strikeouts in 158.2 innings.

Fried (12-7) fired seven scoreless innings, allowing three hits and one walk while striking out five to earn the win over the Giants on Sunday.

Fried continued his streak of 10 straight quality starts. He's allowed just 13 earned runs in that stretch. In addition, he hasn't lost since July 28. The 27-year-old has a 3.31 ERA and 1.16 WHIP with 148 strikeouts in 149.2 innings this season. His next start is scheduled for Friday in San Diego.

Alcantara allowed two runs (one earned) on six hits and a walk over six innings in Sunday's win over Pittsburgh. He struck out four and did not factor in the decision.

Alcantara committed a pair of errors in the first inning, leading to Cole Tucker scoring an unearned run. He later gave up an RBI triple to Anthony Alford before recording an out in the seventh. It was his shortest outing and lowest strikeout total since his Aug. 6 start in Colorado. Still, he lowered his season ERA to 3.05 with a 189:49 K:BB through 194.2 frames. Alcantara is lined up to face the Rays on the road next weekend.

Miley (12-7) allowed six runs on nine hits and a walk over three innings Sunday, striking out two and taking a loss against the Dodgers.

Miley served up home runs to Will Smith and Gavin Lux in the second inning and was taken deep for a third time the following inning by Corey Seager. He's given up seven homers in just 18.1 innings over his last four outings. The veteran righty's ERA has gone up from 2.74 to 3.37 during that span. Miley is lined up to face the Nationals at home next week.

Kershaw (10-7) allowed one run on three hits over five innings Sunday, striking out eight and earning a win over the Reds.

Kershaw threw 52 of 74 pitches for strikes as he's still easing back into action after a lengthy stint on the injured list. The only run he gave up Sunday was an RBI groundout by Tyler Stephenson in the fourth inning. The veteran southpaw has struck out 13 batters while allowing just two runs in 9.1 innings since his return. Kershaw will carry a 3.27 ERA into his projected start in Arizona next week.

Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Mejia would be called up from Triple-A Reno to start Monday's game against Atlanta at Chase Field, the Associated Press reports.

Mejia will join Arizona's six-man rotation as a replacement for rookie Tyler Gilbert (elbow), who was placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday. The 24-year-old right-hander previously made a pair of starts for Arizona in late August, covering 11 innings between the outings and allowing six runs on 14 hits and three walks. He'll tentatively line up for a two-start week, with his second turn coming Sunday at home versus the Dodgers.

Contreras will be promoted to Triple-A Indianapolis to close out the season, Alex Stumpf of DKPittsburghSports.com reports.

Contreras has made three appearances since he returned from a forearm injury at the beginning of September, and he recorded a 4.32 ERA and 0.84 WHIP in 8.1 innings during that time. Although the righty missed approximately two months due to his injury, he'll still receive a promotion late in the 2021 campaign.

Gray (8-11) allowed two runs on three hits and two walks with five strikeouts in four innings, taking the loss Sunday versus Washington.

While he didn't get much help in the 3-0 loss, Gray's spotty control led to a lackluster short start. The right-hander threw 46 of 70 pitches for strikes in the contest. He's given up seven runs in 14 innings since returning from a forearm injury. Overall, the 29-year-old owns a 4.17 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 145:58 K:BB in 140.1 innings this year. He's projected for a difficult home start next weekend versus the homer-happy Giants.
