Falter allowed three runs on five hits in Game 2 of Friday's doubleheader against the Nationals, walking one batter while striking out four. He did not factor into the decision.

Falter wasn't particularly good in his third start of the year, but he did at least reach a career-high innings total and kept the score tied during his time on the mound. Josh Bell did all the damage against him, hitting a solo homer in the first and a two-run shot in the fourth. Falter won't be needed in the short term after the doubleheader, so he was sent to Triple-A Lehigh Valley immediately after his start.

Suarez (5-4) collected the win in the first game of Friday's doubleheader against the Nationals, allowing three runs on six hits in 5.2 innings while striking out five batters and walking three.

A single-game ERA of 4.76 and a single-game WHIP of 1.59 are hardly impressive numbers, but Suarez did what he needed to do during a game in which the Phillies took a 2-0 lead before he'd even stepped on the mound. For most of his outing, his performance was better than his final line suggests, as an RBI double by Lane Thomas in the third inning represented his only blemish through five frames. Suarez was chased from the game in the sixth, however, after allowing a two-run homer by Josh Bell followed by a single from Maikel Franco. Suarez will try to lower his mediocre 4.43 ERA next Thursday against the Padres.

Lauer allowed four runs on six hits and a walk over 6.1 innings in Friday's win over the Reds and picked up his sixth victory of the season.

Lauer cruised through four shutout frames before yielding three homers. Albert Almora hit a two-run shot in the fifth before Brandon Drury and Tommy Pham went back-to-back in the sixth. Lauer has given up three homers in two straight outings, raising his season ERA to 3.57 through 12 starts. The 27-year-old is projected to face the Cardinals at home next week.

Greene allowed four runs on four hits and two walks over five innings during Friday's loss to the Brewers. He struck out six and did not factor in the decision.

All of the damage against Greene came via the long ball. Hunter Renfroe launched a three-run shot in the fourth inning, followed by Willy Adames' solo blast in the fifth. Greene had allowed just five runs and no homers over his previous three starts. The flamethrowing rookie now owns a 5.26 ERA with an 85:28 K:BB through 65 frames. Greene is expected to face the Dodgers at home next week.

Musgrove was placed on the COVID-19 injured list Friday.

The Padres didn't announce whether Musgrove tested positive for coronavirus himself, so it's unclear if he's merely at risk of missing one start or likely to miss several. He certainly didn't look ill Friday, as he struck out nine batters while allowing just two runs in seven innings against the Cubs. Reiss Knehr was called up to take his place on the roster.

DeSclafani (ankle) is a candidate to start Tuesday's game in Atlanta, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Tuesday will be exactly two months after DeSclafani's last big-league outing, as he's missed an extended period with right ankle inflammation. He's made just two rehab appearances, throwing a combined 5.2 innings, but the Giants evidently feel as though he may be ready to go. Given that he's not stretched out to a full starter's workload, however, he's unlikely to be asked to pitch deep into Tuesday's game if the team does elect to activate him.

Heaney (shoulder) will start Sunday against the Guardians if all goes well following Friday's side session, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Heaney has missed the last two months with shoulder soreness but appears to be ready to go after cruising to an 0.73 ERA and 19:1 K:BB across three rehab starts. He was mentioned as a candidate to start Sunday earlier in the week, and it now looks as though that's the plan barring any setbacks.

Sanchez (shoulder) will play catch off a mound Saturday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

It was reported by Baseball America a few weeks ago that Sanchez is unlikely to return to game action this season, particularly in the majors, but he is still moving forward with his throwing program. Perhaps Sanchez could get work in during the Arizona Fall League if everything progresses well from here.

Luzardo (forearm) will start a throwing program this weekend, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

He is on the 60-day injured list with a left forearm strain and is not expected to return anytime soon. Given the severity of the injury, there could be some starts and stops in Luzardo's throwing program as he gets brought along very conservatively.

Clevinger was reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list Friday.

Clevinger has had a very disrupted season in his first year back from Tommy John surgery. A knee injury prevented him from making his season debut until early May, and he returned to the injured list with a strained triceps after making just three starts. He made it back from that injury for just a single start before hitting the COVID-19 injured list last weekend. He's back again after a relatively brief absence and will try to finally find some consistency on the mound. It's unclear when he'll next take the hill, as Nick Martinez and Blake Snell are pencilled in for the two weekend starts at Coors Field.
