Falter will be called up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to start Sunday's game against the Cubs, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Falter was sent down in early July and allowed just one run on five hits and no walks while striking out five in 5.1 innings during a start at Lehigh Valley on July 13. He'll rejoin the major-league roster for Sunday's series finale against the Cubs with Zach Eflin (knee) still on the injured list.

DeGrom (shoulder) will require at least one more rehab start prior to rejoining the Mets' rotation, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.

DeGrom tossed 60 pitches over five innings during a simulated game Thursday, but the team apparently doesn't yet consider him ready to return. The right-hander will be sidelined for at least one more turn through the rotation but should be in the mix to rejoin the team after that. Prior to his rehab start next week, deGrom will work out at Citi Field on Sunday.

Senzatela (shoulder) was activated from the 15-day injured list and will start Friday versus the Brewers.

Senzatela was activated Friday as expected, returning to the rotation after he was placed on the 15-day IL on July 2 while suffering from right shoulder inflammation. The right-hander owns a 4.95 ERA and 1.80 WHIP with 34 punchouts over 60 innings in 13 starts this season.

Gutierrez (elbow) underwent Tommy John surgery Wednesday, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Gutierrez officially underwent surgery to correct the first-degree UCL strain he suffered in June and will now set his sights on potentially returning late next season. The right-hander will finish his 2022 campaign with a 7.61 ERA, 1.91 WHIP and 29 strikeouts over 36.2 innings in 10 appearances, including eight starts.

Meyer is listed as the Marlins' scheduled starting pitcher for Saturday's game in Pittsburgh.

The Marlins' decision not to immediately option Meyer to Triple-A Jacksonville following his MLB debut July 16 was a strong indication the right-hander would stick in the rotation coming out of the All-Star break, but now the matter is official. Though he'll get another start Saturday, Meyer may need to deliver better results to build some job security after he yielded five runs on seven hits -- including two home runs -- and one walk across 5.1 innings in a loss to the Phillies. Both Edward Cabrera (elbow) and Jesus Luzardo (forearm) are in the midst of rehab assignments and could displace Meyer from the rotation, likely in early August.

Brewers team president David Stearns said Friday on 620 WTMJ Radio that Peralta is expected begin a rehab assignment "sometime within the next week."

The right-hander landed on the shelf May 22 with a right lat strain, and he resumed a throwing program in mid-June. Peralta has built up his arm over the past month, and he's now closing in on a minor-league rehab assignment. The 26-year-old will likely require multiple rehab outings given the length of his absence, but if all goes well he could rejoin Milwaukee's rotation around mid-August.

Rodon allowed five runs on six hits and two walks while striking out seven batters over five innings in a no-decision against the Dodgers on Thursday.

Rodon had been dealing with a blood blister and a split nail on his pitching hand prior to the All-Star break, so he opted not to throw in the Tuesday's All-Star Game and instead used the time off to try to recover. Though he was able to start San Francisco's first game following the exhibition contest, it's not clear if the finger issues affected him Thursday. What is clear is that the southpaw had one of his poorest outings of the season, giving up just his fifth homer of the campaign -- a solo shot by Freddie Freeman in the first inning -- and allowing five runs for only the second time through 19 starts. Still, it wasn't a totally inept appearance for the southpaw, as he racked up 17 swinging strikes and seven punchouts against one of the league's best offenses.

Lopez (6-5) allowed five earned runs on five hits and three walks while striking out six across five innings to take the loss Thursday against the Rangers.

Lopez ran into some bad luck that made his line look worse than he actually performed, including a pair of infield singles that lengthened the third inning during which he allowed three earned runs. However, he also served up a homer to Adolis Garcia and surrendered at least three walks for the third time in his last four starts. Those struggles with control largely haven't come back to haunt Lopez, as he entered Thursday's start having maintained a 2.20 ERA and 0.98 WHIP across his previous three outings. Overall, Lopez owns a 3.14 ERA and 107:35 K:BB across 109 frames for the campaign.

DeGrom felt good after the session, which alleviates some of the concern that emerged when he experienced shoulder soreness Sunday. It's unclear if deGrom will make an additional rehab start prior to joining the Mets, or if he will be a candidate to start a game during the team's series against the Yankees next week -- which would be in line with his original timeline.

The Dodgers remain optimistic that Buehler (elbow) will return as a starter in September, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Manager Dave Roberts noted that Buehler has made progress and is "cautiously optimistic" the right-hander can return as a starter this season. There is no more specific timetable available, and Buehler has yet to undergo any follow-up imaging on his elbow since being diagnosed with the flexor strain in mid-June.
