Feltner didn't factor into the decision in a 13-5 loss to the Padres during the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader, giving up three runs on eight hits and a walk over 3.2 innings. He struck out three.

The Rockies actually held a 3-0 lead heading into the bottom of the fourth inning despite the Padres having runners on base in each of the first three frames, but Feltner's luck finally ran out in the fourth. The right-hander tossed 76 pitches (46 strikes) before exiting, and he'll likely head back down to Triple-A Albuquerque after this outing, with his 5.75 ERA and 1.45 WHIP over 40.2 innings in the majors this year not making a strong case for a regular rotation spot.

DeGrom (shoulder) didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 5-1 loss to the Nationals, allowing one run on three hits while striking out six and walking none.

DeGrom fared about as well as could have been expected in his season debut, throwing 46 of 59 pitches for strikes across five frames. The flamethrower was on a pitch count after returning from a lengthy absence, otherwise the Mets would have let him continue mowing down Washington's offense. DeGrom threw 13 pitches at 100 miles per hour or higher, topping out at 101.6 mph and averaging 99.7 mph overall.

Quintana is scheduled to start the Cardinals' series finale with the Cubs in St. Louis on Thursday.

Quintana will be making his Cardinals debut Thursday after he was acquired from the Pirates on Monday along with reliever Chris Stratton in exchange for right-hander Johan Oviedo and first baseman Malcom Nunez. The Cardinals also added another starting pitcher in Jordan Montgomery prior to Tuesday's deadline, leaving Dakota Hudson most at risk of moving to the bullpen if St. Louis opts to maintain a five-man rotation. Quintana had been solid through his first 20 outings of the season with Pittsburgh, compiling a 3.50 ERA and 1.27 WHIP in 103 innings.

Wood (7-9) took the loss during Tuesday's 9-5 defeat at the hands of the Dodgers, allowing six runs on nine hits and one walk with six strikeouts in 5.1 innings.

Wood bookended his outing with clean frames, but the middle was messy -- four runs on five baserunners in the second and additional runs in each of the next two innings. The rough start to August comes on the heels of a superb July that featured a 1.65 ERA and 28 strikeouts in 27.1 innings across five turns, and the 31-year-old struck out at least six batters for the fourth time in five starts. Wood carries a 4.42 ERA and 1.25 WHIP into his next start, tentatively scheduled for Monday against the Padres.

Anderson (12-1) earned the win during Tuesday's 9-5 victory over San Francisco, allowing five runs on six hits and four walks with three strikeouts in five-plus innings.

Anderson cruised through three frames and was staked to a 6-0 lead but nearly gave it all back in the bottom of the fourth, surrendering five runs on five hits capped by a Joey Bart home run. After a 1-2-3 fifth, the 32-year-old walked the first two batters of the sixth and was promptly removed, with the bullpen escaping a bases-loaded, no-out jam to keep him in line for the win. The five runs allowed represent Anderson's second-highest mark of the campaign and eclipse his total from his last five starts combined. He carries a 2.89 ERA and 1.03 WHIP into his next start, tentatively slated for Sunday Night Baseball at home against the rival Padres.

Wainwright (8-8) allowed six hits and hit one batter while striking out four over seven shutout innings to earn the win Tuesday over the Cubs.

Wainwright was at his best Tuesday, throwing 67 of 106 pitches for strikes. This is his fourth start of at least seven innings with no runs allowed this year. The 40-year-old righty trimmed his ERA to 3.11 with a 1.19 WHIP and 103:34 K:BB through 130.1 innings in 21 starts this year. Wainwright is tentatively projected for a tough home start versus the Yankees this weekend, though it's unclear if the Cardinals will roll with a five- or six-man rotation after adding Jose Quintana and Jordan Montgomery via trade this week.

Strider (6-3) earned the victory in Tuesday's 13-1 win over Philadelphia, striking out 13 in 6.2 innings while allowing a run on three hits and a walk.

Outside of consecutive hits in the second inning that led to Philadelphia's only run, Strider absolutely dominated. At one point he retired 13 batters in a row, nine by strikeout. It was the fourth time he's reached double-digit strikeouts in a game and the first time he's punched out as many as 13. With 133 strikeouts in 87 innings and only five homers allowed, he's putting together one of the best rookie seasons in baseball this year.

Gallen (6-2) earned the win Tuesday in Cleveland, striking out five in 5.2 innings while allowing three runs on six hits, three walks and a hit batsman.

Gallen allowed multiple baserunners to reach in four of the six frames he pitched but managed to limit the damage to three runs. The three walks allowed tied his season high. The 27-year-old has a 3.31 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 106:32 K:BB in 111.1 innings this season but he has hit 12 batters this season. His next start will likely be early next week against Pittsburgh.

Frasso was traded from the Blue Jays to the Dodgers on Tuesday along with Moises Brito in exchange for Mitch White and Alex De Jesus, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Frasso is an emerging pitcher with upside, having logged a 0.74 ERA, 0.71 WHIP and 57:10 K:BB in 36.2 innings over 10 appearances between Single-A and High-A. The Dodgers seemingly targeted Frasso, 23, in this deal, and his stock could continue to climb once he is pitching at more age-appropriate levels.

The Cardinals acquired Montgomery on Tuesday in exchange for Harrison Bader (foot), Jack Curry of YES Network reports.

Montgomery had been a fixture in New York's rotation, but the team decided that adding a defense-first center fielder in Bader was the greater priority heading into the stretch run of the season. As for St. Louis, the addition of the experienced southpaw will bolster a rotation that has been hit by injuries, and his numbers could be even better while he makes the move from the AL East to the NL Central. Montgomery submitted a 3.69 ERA and 1.10 WHIP while striking out 97 in 114.2 innings with New York prior to the trade.
