Philadelphia acquired Syndergaard from the Angels on Tuesday in exchange for outfielders Mickey Moniak and Jadiel Sanchez, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

The Phillies didn't leave themselves much time, but they wound up adding a starting pitcher right before the 6 p.m. ET deadline to complete trades. Syndergaard has seen his strikeout rate crater this season, but he's punched out 24 batters -- while posting a 3.74 ERA and 1.25 WHIP -- in 21.2 innings over his last four starts, so he seems to be getting back on track a bit in that regard.

Pfaadt was promoted from Double-A Amarillo to Triple-A Reno on Tuesday.

One of Arizona's best pitching prospects, Pfaadt had a 4.99 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 82:9 K:BB in 57.2 innings over his last 10 starts while pitching in hitter-friendly conditions. The conditions won't get any better in the Pacific Coast League. Pfaadt's 3.65 xFIP at Double-A is a more indicative mark as to how well he did at that level. He could join the big-league rotation early next year.

Henry will be called up from Triple-A Reno to start Wednesday's game against the Guardians, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

The Diamondbacks needed to add a starter to their rotation, and they decided to go with Henry, who posted a 3.83 ERA and 1.34 WHIP over 20 starts with Triple-A this season. Henry tossed a total of 24.2 innings over his last four Triple-A starts, so he shouldn't be on a strict pitch count in his big-league debut.

The Padres acquired Groome from the Red Sox on Tuesday in exchange for Eric Hosmer, Max Ferguson and Corey Rosier, Sean McAdam of BostonSportsJournal.com reports.

The Padres will pay the majority of the money owed to Hosmer and in return they will get Groome back in the deal. Once a big-name prospect after being seen as perhaps the top prep pitcher in the 2016 Draft class, Groome has dealt with injuries and diminished stuff since his days as an amateur. He could still make the big leagues as a back-end starter or swingman. Groome has a 2.87 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 57:30 K:BB in 53.1 innings over his last 10 starts split between Double-A and Triple-A.

Oviedo was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday.

Oviedo was effective over his 25.1 big-league innings with the Cardinals this season, but the Pirates want to work with him in the minors before adding him to their major-league roster. Expect him to be recalled at some point before the season comes to a close.

The Mets reinstated deGrom (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list to start Tuesday's game in Washington.

Just as the team had announced a few days earlier, deGrom will make his first start with the Mets since July 7, 2021 after he recently wrapped up a four-outing rehab assignment in the minors. In his final outing with Triple-A Syracuse on July 27, deGrom built up to four innings and 67 pitches, so he could have some light restrictions with his workload as he returns to the mound for the big club. The two-time Cy Young Award winner will line up for a two-start week, with his second turn set to come Sunday versus Atlanta at Citi Field.

The Phillies transferred Eflin (kneecap) to the 60-day injured list Tuesday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

The move delays Eflin's return until the final week of August at the earliest. Before going down in late June, the righty had pitched to a 4.37 ERA and 1.19 WHIP with 56 strikeouts in 68 innings. Assuming he comes back healthy before the season ends, Eflin will likely slot back into the back part of Philadelphia's rotation.

Peralta (lat) will be activated from the 60-day injured list Wednesday to start against the Pirates, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

The Brewers clearly didn't trade for Peralta, but he has not appeared in a game with the big club since May 22, so he can partly be viewed as a big post-deadline addition. Peralta threw only 52 pitches in his last rehab start, so he probably isn't ready for a full workload just yet. However, he should be back at full strength within a matter of weeks.

The Rockies recalled Feltner from Triple-A Albuquerque ahead of his scheduled start in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader in San Diego.

Feltner, who is making his ninth appearance and eighth start of the season for the Rockies, will carry a 1-3 record, 5.59 ERA and 1.35 WHIP into the contest. He'll likely be bound for Albuquerque immediately after his start, unless the Rockies deal away another starting pitcher prior to Tuesday's trade deadline and have a permanent opening in the rotation.

The Nationals acquired Gore (elbow), first baseman Luke Voit, infielder CJ Abrams, outfielders James Wood and Robert Hassell and right-hander Jarlin Susana from the Padres on Tuesday in exchange for outfielder Juan Soto and first baseman Josh Bell, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Gore was placed on the injured list last week with left elbow inflammation and soreness, but no structural damage was detected and he's expected to continue treating the injury through rest and rehab. Though Gore is unlikely to be ready to come off the IL until September, so long as he avoids surgery to address the injury, the 23-year-old will be a high-upside addition to a Nationals rotation that's currently short on impact arms. After a turbulent, injury-plagued minor-league season in 2021, Gore showed up healthy to spring training and pushed his way onto the Padres' Opening Day roster. Gore held down a rotation spot for the better part of the first half and struck out more than a batter per inning, but a few blowups in June and July inflated his ERA and WHIP to 4.50 and 1.47, respectively, before he landed on the IL. He'll look to return healthy by season's end to set the stage for a full-time appointment in the Washington rotation to begin the 2023 campaign.
