Anderson didn't factor into the decision in Friday's extra-inning win over the Marlins, giving up two runs (one earned) on three hits and two walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out four.

The Dodgers committed three errors on the night, one of which contributed to a two-run sixth inning by Miami that chased Anderson from the game. The veteran southpaw has been sharp since the All-Star break, posting a 2.08 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 30:13 K:BB through 43.1 innings over seven outings with five quality starts.

Musgrove did not factor into the decision against the Royals on Friday, allowing five runs (two earned) on eight hits while striking out two and walking one over 3.2 innings.

Musgrove allowed five runs Friday, but he was credited with only two earned runs due to two errors in a four-run, five-hit fourth inning. The five-run game comes off the heels of three consecutive quality starts where he had 16 total strikeouts. His ERA moved up slightly from 2.91 to 2.96 after the game.

Henry (3-2) earned the win against the White Sox on Friday, allowing one run on four hits while striking out three and walking three over five innings.

Henry threw 54 of 86 pitches for strikes across five frames Friday. He allowed three walks and four hits but managed to limit the damage to just one earned run on an Elvis Andrus groundout that scored Eloy Jimenez in the fourth inning. Since being called up to start Aug. 3, Henry has picked up one quality start and has allowed 10 runs across 27.2 innings pitched, resulting in a 3.25 ERA.

Wood (8-11) gave up eight earned runs on six hits and no walks while striking out four over three innings to take the loss in a 9-0 defeat against the Twins on Friday.

Wood's painful month of August got worse with another miserable outing, which saw him lit up for two home runs and chased after getting only nine outs on 60 pitches. Wood now has an ERA of 8.53 in August and has given up six or more runs in three of his five appearances this month. The silver lining is that Wood doesn't walk many batters and his underlying metrics suggest that he is pitching better than his results. Wood has a 3.71 xERA and a 3.43 xFIP despite an ERA of 5.00 in 126 innings pitched this season. He is tentatively expected to make his next start against the Padres.

Steele (back) gave up one earned run on four hits and four walks while striking out six over 5.1 innings in a 4-3 extra-inning win over the Brewers on Friday. He did not factor into the decision.

Steele managed to avoid the big inning by repeatedly pitching himself out of trouble despite issuing four free passes. The only damage came on a solo home run off the bat of Tyrone Taylor in the fifth. Steele has now walked 50 batters in 119 innings this season but has been remarkably effective of late. He has an ERA of 0.96 over five starts in August. He came out of the game after 88 pitches with lower-back tightness, so it is presently unclear if he will be fit to make his next start.

Peralta issued one walk and did not allow a hit over six innings in a 4-3 extra-inning loss to the Cubs on Friday. He struck out five and did not factor into the decision.

Peralta had one of his best starts of the season, dominating the Cubs lineup over six scoreless innings on 82 pitches. He only allowed one batter to reach base and left the game in line for the win before the bullpen coughed up the one-run lead. Peralta has looked good since coming back from a lat injury in the first week of August, logging a 2.55 ERA over 24.2 innings across his last five outings. He lowered his season-long ERA to 3.69 with the performance and has struck out 70 batters in 63.1 innings this year. He is expected to make his next start in a favorable matchup at home against the Pirates.

Flaherty (shoulder) allowed a run on four hits and three walks while striking out three over 5.1 innings versus Triple-A Charlotte on Friday.

Flaherty had some command problems, throwing two wild pitches, but he was otherwise effective while earning his first win in four rehab starts. He threw 50 of 85 pitches for strikes in the outing. Per Katie Woo of The Athletic, how well Flaherty recovers from this start will determine if his next outing is in the minors or with the Cardinals. Barring a setback, he could be available to pitch as soon as Wednesday, and his pitch count from Friday's start suggests he won't face much of a workload limitation once he's activated from the injured list.

Quintana (4-6) took the loss Friday versus Atlanta, allowing four runs (two earned) on seven hits and two walks while striking out three over five innings.

Quintana's decent pitching was nullified by an error that allowed Atlanta to scrape together two runs in the fourth inning. It's the second start in a row that the Cardinals' defense has made the southpaw's job harder. He's allowed no more than two earned runs in any of his five starts since joining St. Louis from Pittsburgh at the trade deadline. Overall, Quintana has a 3.45 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 108:42 K:BB through 127.2 innings across 25 starts.

Strider (8-4) earned the win Friday over the Cardinals, allowing one run on six hits, a walk and a hit batsman with seven strikeouts in six innings.

Strider threw 72 of 102 pitches for strikes in a sharp start. This was the fifth time in his last six outings he's limited opponents to one run. The right-hander trimmed his ERA to 2.87 with a 1.03 WHIP and 158:38 K:BB across 106.2 innings through 27 appearances (16 starts) this season. He'll look to keep this good stretch going in his next start, tentatively projected for next week at home versus Colorado.

Bassitt allowed four runs on eight hits and a walk over 7.1 innings against the Rockies on Friday. He struck out one and did not factor in the decision.

Bassitt tossed five scoreless frames before running into trouble in the sixth. He gave up three runs that inning and was later charged with one more in the eighth during the Mets' win. Bassitt has gone 4-0 with a 2.29 ERA and a 24:9 K:BB over his last six outings, lowering his season ERA to 3.34 through 24 starts. He's projected to face the Dodgers at home next week.
