Miley (oblique) threw a bullpen session Wednesday, Tony Andracki of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Miley has been dealing with left oblique tightness recently and was able to resume mound work after playing catch Tuesday. He felt good after Wednesday's throwing session, but it's not yet clear whether the Cubs expect him to make another start prior to the end of the regular season.

Cavalli (shoulder) played catch from 60 feet Friday and said he felt no pain, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

The 24-year-old was shut down with shoulder discomfort in mid-September and received a cortisone injection, but he's now resumed a throwing program. Cavalli obviously won't return during the final week of the season but is on track to be healthy for spring training in February, when he'll compete for a spot in Washington's 2023 rotation.

Corbin (back) is scheduled to start Sunday's game against the Phillies, Jessica Camerato of MLB.com reports.

Corbin had his last turn through the rotation skipped after he exited his start against Atlanta on Sept. 20 with back spasms, but he'll rejoin the rotation Sunday for his final start of 2022. The veteran left-hander has a 3.20 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 11:1 K:BB across 19.2 innings through three starts in September, and he'll attempt to finish the campaign with another strong outing.

Gore (elbow) won't make a start for the Nationals prior to the end of the regular season, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

The Nationals hoped that Gore would be able to make his debut for the team prior to the end of the season, but he'll be held out due to uncertain weather. However, he feels healthy heading into the offseason and expects to be back to 100 percent in time for spring training in 2023.

Sanchez was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to serve as the 29th man for Friday's doubleheader against the Nationals.

Sanchez has made his last three major-league appearances out of the bullpen, allowing 10 runs on 12 hits and seven walks while striking out nine in 7.1 innings over that stretch. The southpaw should be available as a multi-inning option out of the Phillies' bullpen during Friday's twin bill.

Heaney (4-3) earned the win Thursday over the Padres. He allowed three hits and a walk while striking out six over four scoreless innings.

Heaney entered the game with the Dodgers trailing, but they pulled ahead in the sixth inning before he was removed. The southpaw threw 44 of 69 pitches for strikes as he prepares for what's likely to be a bullpen role in the playoffs. The 31-year-old trimmed his ERA to 2.88 with a 1.08 WHIP and 103:19 K:BB through 68.2 innings across 15 appearances this year. The Dodgers announced their rotation plans for a six-game series against the Rockies to close out the year, and Heaney was not expected to start any of them, so he's likely to operate as a long reliever going forward, though he could step in for a spot start if plans change.

Feltner (3-9) allowed five runs on six hits and three walks while striking out five over six innings, taking the loss Thursday versus the Giants.

Feltner was done in by a bad second inning, during which he allowed an RBI single to Austin Wynns and a grand slam to Ford Proctor. Feltner hadn't allowed more than five runs in a start since Aug. 14, though he gave up at least three runs in five of his last seven outings. The 26-year-old right-hander now has a 6.01 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 80:33 K:BB through 91.1 innings this season. He's lined up for one more start in 2022, a road date with the Dodgers next week.

Rodon (14-8) earned the win Thursday over the Rockies, striking out 10 and allowing two hits and no walks across six scoreless innings.

Rodon recorded his 11th double-digit strikeout tally of the season in a dominant start, one of his best of the second half of the campaign. He finishes September having allowing seven runs (six earned) across 26.2 innings in five starts. The ace southpaw has a 2.88 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 237:52 K:BB across 178 innings through 31 starts overall, and he tentatively lines up to make his final start of the season next week in San Diego.

Peralta (4-4) blew the save and took the loss in Thursday's 4-2 loss against Miami. He allowed four runs on three hits and one walk while striking out three over 1.2 innings.

Peralta entered Thursday's game up 2-0 in the seventh inning as a reliever and set down the side in order, but he cost the Brewers the game with a mistake to Avisail Garcia in the eighth. The 26-year-old loaded the bases on a couple of hits and a walk, and Garcia then tagged him for a grand slam to put the Marlins up 4-2 and saddle Peralta with his fourth loss of the season. Peralta has a 3.77 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 82:27 K:BB over 74 innings and is closing the campaign in a relief role.

Garrett did not factor into the decision Thursday, allowing two runs on six hits with two strikeouts over four innings against the Brewers.

Milwaukee tagged Garrett for four hits in the second inning, during which it scored both runs charged to Garrett on the night. While the 25-year-old had thrown only 113.2 innings across all levels this season, manager Don Mattingly pulled Garrett after only 76 pitches through four innings. The southpaw should stick around in the rotation with Trevor Rogers shut down, and if he does, he will take a 3.56 ERA into his next start, which would likely come against Atlanta next week.
