Wheeler (5-4) got an easy win over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday, allowing one run on four hits and a walk while striking out seven over six innings.

Wheeler shut out the Diamondbacks for five innings before they finally got to him for a run in the sixth. He generated 12 whiffs and posted his third quality start over his last four tries. In those starts, Wheeler has posted a 27:3 K:BB over 21.1 frames. He hasn't allowed multiple walks in an outing since April 23 and moved into second among big-league pitchers in fWAR with 2.9. Wheeler now holds a 3.73 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 94:18 K:BB over 82 innings and lines up to end the week with a juicy matchup against the Athletics.

Flaherty (3-5) took the loss Tuesday as the Cardinals were routed 11-3 by the Giants, coughing up six runs on 10 hits and three walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out three.

The right-hander extended his streak of starts without serving up a homer to six, but keeping the ball in the park didn't do him much good Tuesday as the Giants banged out eight singles and two doubles off him. Considering Flaherty had a 1.50 ERA and 33:13 K:BB in 30 innings over those five prior outings, this performance doesn't appear to herald a return to his shakier early-season form. The 27-year-old will look to put the bad night behind him and get back into a groove in his next start, likely to come early next week on the road against the Nationals.

Cobb didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 11-3 win over the Cardinals, giving up two runs on five hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out five.

The Giants held just a 3-2 lead when Cobb got the hook after 79 pitches (51 strikes), denying him a chance at his sixth win of the year. The veteran right-hander dealt with tightness in his left hip during his last start, which might explain why he wasn't pushed too hard, but it didn't appear to be an issue Tuesday. Cobb will take a 3.09 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 76:21 K:BB through 78.2 innings into his next outing, likely to come at home early next week against the Padres.

Burnes didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 7-5 loss to the Twins, giving up three runs on seven hits and a walk over six-plus innings. He struck out eight.

The right-hander was en route to his sixth win of the year until Minnesota struck for four runs in the bottom of the ninth off the normally reliable Devin Williams. Burnes generated a massive 33 called or swinging strikes among his 99 pitches, and he has nine quality starts on the season in 14 outings -- including four straight, a stretch in which he boasts a 2.33 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 32:8 K:BB through 27 innings. He'll look to keep rolling in his next trip to the mound, likely to come at home early next week against the Diamondbacks.

Davies (1-2) took the loss against the Phillies on Tuesday, allowing six runs (four earned) on six hits and three walks while striking out four over just three innings.

Davies sandwiched in a clean second inning between giving up four runs in the first and another two in the third. It was his shortest outing of the year and his second time giving up at least four runs through six starts this season. He's struck out more than four batters just once thus far and has allowed multiple walks on four different occasions. For the year, Davies sits at an unsightly 5.46 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 26:13 K:BB over 28 innings. His next start projects to be over the weekend against the Guardians.

Anderson didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 7-6 extra-inning win over the Red Sox, giving up three runs on five hits and a walk over 4.1 innings. He struck out six.

The Rockies spotted Anderson an early 4-0 lead by the top of the third inning, but the veteran right-hander quickly gave most of it back and got the hook after 89 pitches (60 strikes). His line could have been a lot worse -- he left the bases loaded when he exited in the fifth, but Colorado's bullpen and defense bailed him out. Anderson has yet to get a decision in six starts since moving into the rotation, but his 3.16 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 23:7 K:BB through 31.1 innings have been surprisingly solid. He lines up to face a tough test in his next outing, which is set to come this weekend in Atlanta.

Cabrera (5-5) took the loss Tuesday against the Mariners, allowing five runs on four hits and three walks while striking out four over four innings.

Cabrera allowed home runs in the second and fourth innings, with both coming after leadoff walks. His control issues have always been his Achilles' heel, though he has been better with 11 walks over his last 31.2 innings after walking 30 batters in 35.1 innings through his first eight starts. For the year, the 25-year-old owns a 4.70 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 84 strikeouts in 67 innings. He lines up to face Toronto at home next week.

Corbin (4-7) took the loss Tuesday against the Astros, allowing two runs on four hits and five walks while striking out five over five innings.

Corbin kept the Astros off the board through four innings. The only damage done against him came on solo home runs by Mauricio Dubon and Kyle Tucker in the fifth. The southpaw was able to work around a season-high five walks and registered 11 whiffs while striking out five batters for just the third time since May 4. Corbin has given up multiple home runs in two of his last three starts and has given up 13 total this year, which is currently tied for fifth most in baseball. The 33-year-old now holds a 4.81 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 51:24 K:BB over 78.2 innings. He last picked up a win May 26 and will look to change that this weekend against Miami.

Ortiz (1-3) took the loss Tuesday, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks over 5.1 innings against the Cubs. He struck out four.

Ortiz was hit hard early on, as the Cubs plated three runs in the first inning and added another before he was removed in the sixth inning with runners on the corners. The outing marked the first time in five starts that Ortiz allowed more than three earned runs, and continued a pattern of issues with the long ball as the 24-year-old has now given up five bombs over his last four appearances. He is tentatively scheduled to start Sunday against the Brewers.

Taillon (2-4) earned the win Tuesday against the Pirates, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out four.

Taillon won his second consecutive start, going six innings while tossing 95 pitches in his longest outing of the season. After going 0-3 with an ugly 8.04 ERA in his first eight outings, the 31-year-old veteran has made modest improvements in the month of June, going 2-1 with a 4.24 ERA over three starts. The results are certainly not what the Cubs expected after signing Taillon to a four-year, $68 million deal in the offseason.
