Darvish will make his next scheduled start Friday against the Rays, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Darvish was on turn to pitch Thursday versus the Guardians, but he and Ryan Weathers will flip-flop spots. It's a big downgrade in matchup for Darvish, but you can understand it from the Padres' perspective in not wanting to throw Weathers against Tampa Bay.

Lodolo (leg) received encouraging results from his MRI on Wednesday, but he won't be able to return until early August at the earliest, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Lodolo is still in a walking boot from the stress reaction he suffered in his left tibia, and he'll continue to wear the boot for at least two more weeks, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. The left-hander will miss at least another six weeks while he recovers and rehabs, and the Reds will take plenty of precaution with the 25-year-old before he returns to the mound.

Strider (7-2) picked up the win in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Tigers, surrendering five runs on seven hits -- including three home runs -- and two walks over five innings in a 10-7 victory. He struck out six.

The right-hander had his start Tuesday bumped back a day due to inclement weather, and the disruption in his routine appeared to have an impact as he also plunked a batter and fired two wild pitches. Strider served up more than two homers in a game for the first time in his career and was facing a 4-0 deficit after two innings, but he gutted out three more frames and stuck around long enough for Atlanta's offense to come roaring back. Strider still flashed some of his usual dominance, producing 17 swinging strikes on 94 pitches, but after two rough starts in a row he sports a surprising 4.12 ERA on the season despite a league-leading 127 strikeouts in 78.2 innings.

The Pirates selected Bido's contract from Triple-A Indianapolis ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday against the Cubs, Justice delos Santos of MLB.com reports.

Bido will be making his MLB debut Wednesday and could secure a more permanent spot in the Pittsburgh rotation with a strong showing, as the Pirates are currently in search of a fifth starter with the struggling Roansy Contreras having moved to the bullpen. Though he's struck out a batter per inning over his 12 appearances (10 starts) at Indianapolis this season, the 27-year-old Bido's 4.55 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 10.9 percent walk rate don't inspire as much confidence about his ability to find immediate success in the majors.

Megill is scheduled to start Friday's game versus the Cardinals at Citi Field.

Heading into the week, Megill looked to be at risk of having his turn through the rotation skipped due to team off days Monday and Thursday, but the Mets will ultimately have all five of their rotation members pick up one start apiece. Megill will thus get a chance to redeem himself after he turned in his worst start of the season in his previous outing last Friday in Pittsburgh, where he was blitzed for nine runs (seven earned) on eight hits and three walks over 3.2 innings.

Stripling (back) made a rehab appearance Tuesday with the Giants' rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate, covering two innings and striking out two while allowing three runs (one earned) on four hits and one walk.

The rehab start marked Stripling's first game action in just under a month while he works his way back from a strained lower back. Stripling will likely settle back into a spot in the Giants' rotation once he builds up to around 75 pitches or five innings, but it could take him another rehab start or two to get there.

Musgrove has been wearing a compression sleeve on his right arm for much of the season because he's dealt with elbow bursitis, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

The feeling is that the issue might have been caused by the aggressive treatment Musgrove underwent this spring to combat healing in his fractured left big toe. "I had some elbow issues early in spring, possibly from the hyperbaric (chamber)," he said. "Went to Mexico, and it blew up in Mexico, just really swollen. Since then it has been manageable, but it seems like the elevation and pressurized areas are causing more and more trouble." Musgrove added that he "had a leak in the bursa sac or a rupture in there" that "causes swelling and causes loss of range of motion." The righty has an uncharacteristic 4.37 ERA on the season, although that mark has been 1.93 over his last four starts. There are no plans for any down time for Musgrove. Rather, the elbow issue seems like something he may just have to manage for a while longer but should eventually heal itself.

Atlanta called up Dodd from Triple-A Gwinnett, and he's scheduled to start the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Tigers.

Dodd will operate as Atlanta's 27th man for the doubleheader and draw his fifth major-league start of the season. To this point, the left-hander has posted a 6.64 ERA and 1.77 WHIP with 10 strikeouts over 20.1 innings with Atlanta. His Triple-A numbers are actually less impressively, as he owns a 7.07 ERA over 35.2 frames in eight outings with Gwinnett. Dodd will be returned to Triple-A following Wednesday's spot start.

Wheeler (5-4) got an easy win over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday, allowing one run on four hits and a walk while striking out seven over six innings.

Wheeler shut out the Diamondbacks for five innings before they finally got to him for a run in the sixth. He generated 12 whiffs and posted his third quality start over his last four tries. In those starts, Wheeler has posted a 27:3 K:BB over 21.1 frames. He hasn't allowed multiple walks in an outing since April 23 and moved into second among big-league pitchers in fWAR with 2.9. Wheeler now holds a 3.73 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 94:18 K:BB over 82 innings and lines up to end the week with a juicy matchup against the Athletics.

Flaherty (3-5) took the loss Tuesday as the Cardinals were routed 11-3 by the Giants, coughing up six runs on 10 hits and three walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out three.

The right-hander extended his streak of starts without serving up a homer to six, but keeping the ball in the park didn't do him much good Tuesday as the Giants banged out eight singles and two doubles off him. Considering Flaherty had a 1.50 ERA and 33:13 K:BB in 30 innings over those five prior outings, this performance doesn't appear to herald a return to his shakier early-season form. The 27-year-old will look to put the bad night behind him and get back into a groove in his next start, likely to come early next week on the road against the Nationals.
