Greene (hip) threw two scoreless innings with three strikeouts in a rehab start Tuesday in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League.

Green's first rehab start went about as well as the Reds could have hoped, and he remains on track to be activated from the 60-day injured list in about three weeks, with an estimated return date of Aug. 20. The right-hander is expected to move his rehab to Triple-A Louisville on Saturday, per MLB.com. The Reds took some heat at the trade deadline for not adding starting pitching, but the organization feels Greene and Nick Lodolo (leg) -- who is expected back a week or two after Greene -- will be enough.

Cecconi is listed as Arizona's probable starting pitcher for Wednesday's game against San Francisco.

The Diamondbacks will formally call Cecconi up from Triple-A Reno later Wednesday for what will be his MLB debut. The 24-year-old right-hander has toiled in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League this season, posting a 6.38 ERA and 1.38 WHIP over 20 starts (103 innings). Cecconi is joining the rotation as a replacement for the injured Tommy Henry (elbow), who may spend more than the minimum 15 days on the shelf.

Lively dropped to 4-7 on the season after allowing 13 runs on 13 hits and two walks over four innings in a 20-9 loss to the Cubs on Tuesday. He struck out two.

Lively was roughed up early, allowing five runs before recording an out. The onslaught continued from there, as he gave up multiple runs in each of his four innings. The 31-year-old had been pitching well prior to this start, allowing three earned runs or less in each of his previous six outings. However, allowing 13 earned runs in this game caused Lively's season-long ERA to jump from 3.76 to 5.51. Lively will look to bounce back in his next start, which is tentatively lined up for this weekend against the Nationals.

Steele (12-3) earned the win Tuesday, allowing five runs (four earned) on nine hits and striking out six without walking a batter over six innings in a 20-9 win over Cincinnati.

Steele was the beneficiary of an offensive explosion Tuesday, as the Cubs put up 20 runs on Cincinnati. The 28-year-old lefty wasn't particularly sharp in this one, but he threw 73 of 101 pitches for strikes and did enough to earn his 12th victory, tying him for the major-league lead. Prior to this start, Steele hadn't allowed more than three earned runs in an outing since May 26, going 5-1 with a 2.01 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 43:8 K:BB across 44.2 innings during that stretch. He is projected to make his next start at home versus Atlanta.

Lynn (7-9) allowed three runs on five hits and a walk while striking out seven over seven innings, earning the win Tuesday over the Athletics.

Lynn completed seven frames for the fourth time this year, earning himself a quality start in his Dodgers debut. He'd given up 20 runs (17 earned) over his last 16.2 innings with the White Sox prior to getting traded out west. Lynn is at a 6.32 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 151:46 K:BB through 126.2 innings over 22 starts this season. He's lined up for a road start in San Diego over the weekend.

Oviedo (5-11) earned the win Tuesday, allowing a run on six hits and two walks over seven innings against the Tigers. He struck out five.

Oviedo's now won back-to-back starts, allowing just two runs over 13 innings after going 0-8 with a 4.83 ERA in his previous 11 outings. The 25-year-old right-hander now sports a 4.42 ERA with a 1.34 WHIP and 111:51 K:BB across 22 starts (124.1 innings) this season. Oviedo's currently projected to face the Brewers this weekend in his next outing.

Gallen allowed three runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out six over six innings in a no-decision versus the Giants on Tuesday.

Gallen kept the Giants off the board until he gave up three runs in the sixth inning. Gallen has logged quality starts in three of his last five outings, allowing 15 runs over 31.1 innings in that span while going winless in four straight starts. He's at a 3.41 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 149:29 K:BB through 142.2 innings over 23 starts this season. The right-hander is lined up for a weekend road start in Minnesota.

Suarez did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing a run on 10 hits and two walks over 6.1 innings against Miami. He struck out three.

Suarez managed to hold the Marlins to just one run despite allowing 10 hits, thanks to a pair of key double-play balls. Overall, it was a solid start to the month for the 27-year-old southpaw after pitching to a 6.11 ERA over five starts in July. Suarez is 2-5 this season with a 4.01 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 76:30 K:BB across 15 starts (41.2 innings). He's currently scheduled to face the Nationals at home in his next outing, though it's worth noting the addition of Michael Lorenzen at the trade deadline gives the Phillies a crowded rotation.

Cobb allowed three runs on four hits and one walk while striking out four over six innings in a no-decision versus the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

Cobb was ill Monday, so he was pushed back a day in the rotation. He threw 84 pitches (53 strikes) Tuesday before turning the ball over to Ryan Walker. All three runs against Cobb came on solo home runs, making Tuesday the second time all year he's given up multiple homers. He's at a 3.05 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 104:29 K:BB through 112 innings over 20 starts this season. The right-hander is projected for a road start versus the Angels next week.

Alcantara did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing four hits and a walk over eight scoreless innings against Philadelphia. He struck out five.

Alcantara is finally starting to look like he did in his 2022 Cy Young campaign. He's now thrown 17 innings over his last two starts, allowing just one run on nine hits in that span. However, Alcantara was stuck with a no-decision Tuesday as the Phillies rallied to score three against David Robertson in the ninth inning. The 27-year-old Alcantara's pitched to a 2.02 ERA over his last five outings, lowering his ERA to 4.21 on the season with a 1.21 WHIP and 118:38 K:BB across 22 starts (143.1 innings). He's currently lined up for a tough road matchup with the Rangers this weekend.
