Alcantara (forearm) is rehabbing with the team in Milwaukee but has yet to resume throwing, Jordan McPherson of The Miami Herald reports.

Alcantara was placed on the 15-day injured list Wednesday due to a right forearm flexor strain. A timeline for the right-hander's return could start to come into focus once he starts to ramp up baseball activities.

Stripling (back) threw 50 pitches in a live bullpen session Monday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Stripling hasn't been activated from the 15-day injured list just yet, though the transaction could be made sometime over the next few days. The veteran right-hander also voiced his frustration about his performance during the 2023 campaign and indicated that he's fully committed to sticking with the Giants next season, even though his contract contains a player option for 2024 that would allow him to pursue free agency.

Morton did not factor into the decision in Game 1 of Monday's doubleheader against the Phillies, allowing four runs on six hits and four walks over six innings while striking out nine.

The four runs allowed were one more than Morton had allowed in his previous five starts combined. Despite subpar effort, Morton was in line for the win, but the bullpen allowed four runs over the next three innings to allow the Phillies to send the game into extras. The 39-year-old Morton is tied for fifth in the majors in wins with 14 and holds a 3.42 ERA with a 1.40 WHIP and 177 strikeouts over 157.2 innings. His next start is scheduled to take place over the weekend in Miami against the Marlins.

Walker did not factor into the decision in Game 1 of Monday's doubleheader against Atlanta, allowing six runs (five earned) on six hits and three walks while striking out five over 5.1 innings.

Outside of a triple by Austin Riley in the first that turned into a little-league home run when the ball was fumbled in left field, Walker did not allow a home run, which was about the only positive development to take away from this outing. Walker threw only 53 of 103 pitches for strikes and hit two batters as part of the 11 runners he allowed to reach base. Walker has gone 16 consecutive starts throwing at least five innings, but following a stretch between June 6 and July 15 that saw him win seven consecutive games with a 1.64 ERA, Walker holds a 5.08 ERA over his last nine appearances. His next start is scheduled to take place this weekend in St. Louis.

Sanchez (shoulder) will be reinstated from Triple-A Jacksonville's 60-day injured list and will be assigned to Double-A Pensacola on Tuesday, when he's expected to throw one inning or 20 pitches in a game, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Sanchez hasn't pitched at any level since 2020, but he's finally ready to get back up on the bump following a prolonged recovery from shoulder surgery and related setbacks. He'll look to string together some quality appearances in the minors to close out the season before potentially competing for a spot on the Marlins' big-league pitching staff next spring.

Atlanta reinstated Wright (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list and will have the right-hander start the second game of Monday's doubleheader with the Phillies, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

As anticipated, Wright will rejoin Atlanta to make his sixth start of the season and his first since May 3 after an extended absence due to a right shoulder strain. Wright made three rehab starts in the minors prior to being activated and looked sharp his last time out last Tuesday at Triple-A Gwinnett, striking out seven while giving up one hit and two walks over 3.2 scoreless innings. Since he tossed just 50 pitches in that start, Wright's workload will likely be restricted Monday.

Feltner (head) made the second start of his rehab assignment Thursday with Triple-A Albuquerque, covering 2.2 innings and striking out two while allowing one earned run on three hits and two walks.

After tossing three innings of one-run ball in his first rehab outing Sept. 1 at High-A Spokane, Feltner jumped up two levels for his second start. Though he retired one less hitter than he had in his prior appearance, Feltner was able to build his pitch count up from 36 to 50. He'll likely require one or more tune-up outings at Albuquerque before returning from the 60-day injured list and slotting back into the Colorado rotation in the back half of September.

Gray is scheduled to return to the Washington rotation for a start Thursday against the Pirates at PNC Park.

The right-hander will return to the mound for the first time since Sept. 3 after he found himself as the odd man out of the Nationals' six-man rotation last week, when Washington played five games in a seven-day stretch. Rather than making Gray available out of the bullpen, the Nationals used the pair of off days last week to give the 25-year-old right-hander an extended breather after he had gone 0-3 with a 8.49 ERA, 1.93 WHIP and 20:21 K:BB in 23.1 innings over his last six starts. Gray isn't believed to be nursing an injury and should be in store for a normal workload in his return to the rotation Thursday.

Nelson is listed as the Diamondbacks' scheduled starter for Tuesday's game against the Mets at Citi Field.

Nelson was called up from Triple-A Reno last week and made his first start with the big club in nearly a month this past Thursday, covering 5.2 innings while giving up one run on two hits and two walks en route to picking up a win against the Cubs. Arizona has been struggling to reliable starting pitching beyond Zac Gallen and Merrill Kelly throughout the season, so the decision to keep Nelson in the rotation on the heels of his strong showing his last time out comes as little surprise. Nelson tentatively lines up for a two-start week, with his second turn set to come this weekend at home versus the Cubs.

Wright (shoulder) is with Atlanta for the team's doubleheader in Philadelphia on Monday and could be activated from the 60-day injured list ahead of the second game of the twin bill, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

The club has yet to name a starter for the second game of the doubleheader after Spencer Strider's (illness) next appearance was pushed back to Wednesday, but all signs point to Wright filling the vacant rotation spot. The 27-year-old's last rehab start with Triple-A Gwinnett came Sept. 5, when he threw just 50 pitches over 3.2 innings. If Wright is indeed the starter for Monday's nightcap, he would likely be in store for an abbreviated workload.
