Lively allowed three runs on four hits over 4.1 innings against the Tigers on Thursday. He struck out four and did not issue any walks.

Lively set down the Tigers in order after relieving Sam Moll to open the third inning but immediately ran into trouble in the fourth, yielding three consecutive hits -- including a two-run home run to Akil Baddoo. The right-hander hit another snag in the seventh, surrendering a leadoff single while also allowing a batter to reach due to a throwing error. It wasn't a great outing for Lively in his return from the COVID-19 injured list, and he's now allowed at least three runs in each of his last three appearances dating back to Aug. 1. He's also given up at least one home run in six consecutive outings.

Gray (7-12) took the loss Thursday, allowing two runs on five hits over 6.1 innings against the Pirates. He struck out 10 and did not walk a batter.

The right-hander struck out six of the first 10 batters he faced but was victimized twice by long balls, while Washington's offense was getting shut down by Mitch Keller. It was just the second time in Gray's last seven starts that he made it through six frames, while the 10 strikeouts marked his season high. However, he has lost his last four decisions and six of his last seven overall (spanning 11 starts).

Keller (12-9) earned the win Thursday, allowing two hits and one walk over eight scoreless innings against Washington while striking out seven.

Keller was spectacular, allowing only two singles all night -- and one of those came in the first at-bat of the game. It was a great bounce-back performance after the right-hander had matched his season high with eight runs allowed in his previous outing, and Thursday's start marked the third time this season he's gone at least eight innings. Keller has won three of his last four decisions (spanning five starts), posting a 37:6 K:BB over that stretch.

Anderson will start Friday's game against the Giants, Patrick Lyons of TheDNVR.com reports.

Anderson was originally slated to start Thursday, but the game was rained out, so he'll ultimately be pushed back one day. He's made two starts since being activated from the injured list and has given up eight earned runs across 7.1 innings while posting a 6:4 K:BB.

Kelly (11-7) took the loss Thursday, allowing seven runs on six hits and four walks over five innings against the Mets. He struck out seven.

Kelly set down the first six Mets in short order before walking the bases loaded to start the third inning, and he allowed two runs to score in the frame. The 34-year-old hurler surrendered five more runs in the fifth, headlined by Jeff McNeil's two-run homer. Kelly allowed just one run in each of his previous two outings; however, those starts are bookended by a pair of seven-run disasters. In those four starts since Aug. 29, the righty's season-long ERA has gone from an impressive 2.97 to a still-respectable 3.45. Kelly is currently slated to face the Giants at home next week.

Senga (11-7) earned the win Thursday, striking out 10 while allowing two hits and two walks over six scoreless frames in a 11-1 victory over the Diamondbacks.

Senga was masterful Thursday, surrendering just two hits -- a pair of singles -- and retiring 13 consecutive Diamondbacks along the way. The 30-year-old tallied his fifth double-digit strikeout effort of the campaign and his third in four starts. Senga has limited opponents to three or fewer earned runs in 14-straight outings dating back to June 23, earning nine quality starts with a 2.46 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 104:31 K:BB across 84 innings during that stretch. He will look to keep the momentum in his next outing, which is tentatively scheduled for next week in Miami.

Waldron is slated to start Saturday's game against the Athletics in Oakland.

Waldron will make a second straight turn through the San Diego rotation after tossing five innings and allowing four runs in a losing effort in his most recent outing Sunday against the Astros. With Rich Hill having been demoted to the bullpen and placed on waivers and with both Yu Darvish (elbow) and Joe Musgrove (shoulder) looking unlikely to pitch again in 2023, Waldron should have a fair amount of job security in the rotation regardless of how he performs.

Burnes (ankle) is listed as the Brewers' scheduled starting pitcher for Saturday's game against the Nationals at American Family Field.

Burnes sprained his left ankle during his most recent outing Sunday against the Yankees, but he apparently emerged from his between-starts bullpen session no worse for the wear and will be ready to return to the bump on five days' rest. Heading into the weekend, the Brewers hold a comfortable 4.5-game lead over the Cubs for first place in the National League Central, but Burnes shouldn't face any limitations with his workloads or have any turns in the rotation skipped until Milwaukee officially clinches the division crown.

Webb will not start Thursday at Colorado after the game was postponed due to rain.

The game is set to be made up with a split doubleheader Saturday at Coors Field. Webb will now take the ball for the Giants on Friday versus the Rockies, with Keaton Winn and Alex Cobb presumably lining up to cover Saturday's twin bill.

Anderson won't make his scheduled start after Thursday's game against the Giants was postponed due to inclement weather, Evan Webeck of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

The delay will likely push Anderson's start to Friday, while Peter Lambert and Kyle Freeland will presumably start during Saturday's doubleheader. Anderson has allowed eight runs in 7.1 innings across two starts since returning from the injured list.
