Sheehan is scheduled to start Wednesday's game against the Rockies at Coors Field.

Sheehan will make his second straight turn through the Los Angeles rotation after a brief stint in the bullpen. He turned in a gem his last time out this past Thursday against the Giants, striking out a career-high nine while allowing one earned run on no hits and four walks over 4.2 innings. Though he's pitched well of late, Sheehan hasn't hit five innings in any of his starts or relief appearances in the majors or minors since late July, so the Dodgers may not keep him in Wednesday's game long enough to qualify for a win.

Greene escaped with a no-decision Tuesday in the Reds' 11-7 win over the Guardians, surrendering seven runs on eight hits -- including three home runs -- and a walk over three-plus innings. He struck out three.

After a scoreless first frame, the wheels came off for Greene as he served up a three-run blast to Bo Naylor in the second inning before Kole Calhoun and Andres Gimenez took him deep in the third. After the right-hander put the first two batters he faced in the fourth inning aboard, he left the mound having tossed 70 pitches (47 strikes), but Cincinnati got Greene off the hook for his seventh loss of the season by taking the lead in the top of the fifth. The awful outing snapped a string of three impressive starts for the 24-year-old, who now has a 4.57 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 32:7 K:BB through 21.2 innings in September. If he stays on turn, Greene lines up to start the Reds' final game of the regular season Oct. 1 in St. Louis, with a potential wild-card spot on the line -- the team heads into play Wednesday 1.5 games back of the Cubs for the final playoff berth in the NL.

Feltner (2-4) took the loss in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Dodgers, coughing up five runs on six hits and a walk over three innings as the Rockies were routed 11-2. He failed to strike out a batter.

Remarkably, none of the hits off Feltner went for extra bases, but four straight singles to lead off the second inning led to a five-run frame. The right-hander has proven to be a particularly poor fit for Coors Field, posting an 8.40 ERA and 2.07 WHIP in the Rockies' home stadium during his first season with the club compared to a 4.45 ERA and 1.48 WHIP on the road, but with two years of team control left before he even reaches arbitration, Colorado may keep Feltner around in 2024 to provide depth for the staff.

Anderson (1-6) picked up the win in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Dodgers, allowing five hits and two walks over five scoreless innings in a 4-1 victory, He struck out four.

Anderson made his first appearance of the season May 3 out of the Tampa Bay bullpen, and he joined the Colorado rotation a couple weeks later after being claimed off waivers. It took the 35-year-old righty 17 starts and 86.1 innings to finally secure his first win of the season, and he waited until the final week to do so. Anderson has pitched well since coming off the IL in early September, posting a 3.86 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 20:13 K:BB through 25.2 frames, and his worst outing during the month actually came on the road in San Francisco. He should get a chance to double his win total in the Rockies' finale, a home tilt against the Twins on Oct. 1.

Miller (11-4) picked up the win in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Rockies, giving up two runs on seven hits over seven innings in the Dodgers' 11-2 rout. He struck out nine without walking a batter.

Making his first career appearance at Coors Field, Miller was unfazed by the hitter-friendly environment and carved up Colorado's lineup, generating 31 called or swinging strikes among his 91 pitches en route to a new career high in strikeouts. Miller has delivered three quality starts in five September outings, posting a 3.58 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 36:6 K:BB through 32.2 innings on the month to close the books on a strong rookie campaign, and he figures to be a key part of the Dodgers' postseason rotation.

Gray (8-13) took the loss Tuesday, allowing one run on five hits and two walks over six innings against the Orioles. He struck out seven.

The 25-year-old's only blemish occurred on his seventh pitch when Gunnar Henderson launched a leadoff solo home run. However, Gray didn't receive any run support and was saddled with the loss in what was likely to be his final start of the 2023 campaign. Over his last three outings, the righty has impressed with a 2.08 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 21:5 K:BB across 17.1 innings, but he has a 1-2 record to show for it. In fact, Tuesday marked the seventh time this year that Gray came away with a loss or no-decision despite tossing five-plus innings while surrendering less than two earned runs. He'll close out his third big-league season with an 8-13 record, 3.91 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 143:80 K:BB across 159 innings in 30 starts.

Pepiot came away with a no-decision during the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader, allowing one run on five hits and a walk over six relief innings in a 4-1 loss to the Rockies. He struck out nine.

The rookie right-hander didn't flinch during his first career outing in Coors Field after watching opener Caleb Ferguson cough up three runs while recording only two outs in the first inning. Pepiot retired Sean Bouchard to end the frame, then cruised to what would have qualified as a quality start had he begun the game. The nine strikeouts were also a career high, as the 26-year-old recorded 19 swinging strikes on 95 pitches. Pepiot has been brilliant in September, recording a 2.16 ERA, 0.76 WHIP and 21:2 K:BB through 25 innings over four appearances (two starts and two bulk relief outings), and he could see action one more time before the end of the regular season, on the road Oct. 1 in San Francisco.

Mikolas (8-13) earned the win Tuesday, allowing one run on five hits and two walks over seven innings against the Brewers. He struck out five.

After allowing five earned runs and taking the loss in each of his last three starts, Mikolas rattled off seven innings of one-run baseball against Milwaukee. The outing marked Mikolas' second in the last 10 starts without allowing a home run. Over that stretch (60 innings), Mikolas owns a 6.00 ERA with a 33:13 K:BB. He's lined up to close out the Cardinals regular season Sunday against the Reds at Busch Stadium.

Houser (7-5) took the loss Tuesday, allowing four runs on three hits and two walks over five innings against St. Louis. He struck out five.

Despite retiring the first nine batters he faced, Houser finished Tuesday's start with four earned runs, including a solo homer allowed to Tommy Edman in the fifth. Houser's struggles resulted in his first loss since Aug. 15, though he missed a couple of weeks with an elbow injury since that point. He'll likely take the mound once more before the end of the regular season to take on the Cubs at American Family Field on Sunday.

Lugo (8-7) allowed three hits and three walks while striking out seven over 8.2 shutout innings to earn the win Tuesday over the Giants.

Lugo nearly had a shutout, but he put two runners on in the ninth and exited with 123 pitches (80 strikes). Josh Hader was able to secure the one-out save. It appears Lugo saved his best for last this year, with this being his best appearance and his fourth scoreless outing over his last eight starts. The right-hander is at a 3.57 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 140:36 K:BB through 146.1 innings over 26 starts overall. With just four games left on the Padres' schedule, it's possible this was Lugo's last start of 2023.
