Irvin (2-5) took the loss Wednesday against the Twins, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out six over 6.1 innings.

Irvin was solid overall Wednesday, holding Minnesota to two runs on a pair of solo homers, though he'd ultimately take his third loss in four starts as the Nationals failed to generate enough run support. The 27-year-old Irvin's ERA now sits at 3.79 with a solid 1.07 WHIP and 44:9 K:BB across 10 outings (57 innings) this season. He's currently slated for a tough road matchup in Atlanta early next week.

The Giants activated Snell (adductor) from the 15-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday against the Pirates in Pittsburgh.

Snell will rejoin the rotation Wednesday after completing his recovery from a Grade 2 adductor strain. The left-hander posted an 11.57 ERA in his first three starts with the Giants this season but looked sharp during two rehab outings, not allowing a hit or a run while collecting a 17:1 K:BB in nine innings. He threw just 60 pitches in his most recent rehab outing Friday, so Snell's workload could be relatively limited Wednesday. According to Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area, Snell could go on paternity leave after Wednesday's outing, but in such a scenario, he should be back in time to make his next start.

Quantrill did not factor into the decision Tuesday against the Athletics, allowing two runs on three hits and a walk while striking out eight over six innings.

Quantrill surrendered a third-inning home run to J.D. Davis and later allowed the A's to scratch across an additional run in the sixth after JJ Bleday tripled before scoring on a wild pitch. Quantrill was in line for a fourth consecutive win after exiting the contest but that was eventually spoiled after the bullpen coughed up three runs between the seventh and eighth innings. The 29-year-old nearly matched his season-high in strikeouts. His strikeout rate this season is up to 18.6 percent, which is a significant improvement from 13.1 last year. Quantrill now owns a 3.59 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 44:21 K:BB in 57.2 innings and faces a tough test ahead of him against the Phillies over the weekend.

Perez came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 7-6 extra-inning win over the Giants, giving up four runs (two earned) on five hits and three walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out four.

The veteran southpaw threw only 56 of 98 pitches for strikes, but an Oneil Cruz error in the first inning helped soften the blow to Perez's ERA. He's completed six innings only once in his last seven starts, posting a 6.37 ERA, 1.70 WHIP and 29:12 K:BB through 35.1 innings over that stretch, but Pittsburgh doesn't have many healthy alternatives for its rotation right now. Perez will try to turn things around in his next outing, which lines up to come at home this weekend against Atlanta.

Webb came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 7-6 extra-inning loss to the Pirates, allowing two runs on six hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out six.

The right-hander delivered his third straight quality start and eighth of 2024 on 103 pitches (72 strikes), and Webb left the mound in line for his fifth win of the year only to watch Camilo Doval blow his first save of the season in the ninth inning. Webb will take a 3.03 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 53:18 K:BB through 65.1 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come on the road this weekend against the Mets.

Corbin (1-5) took the loss Tuesday as the Nationals were routed 10-0 by the Twins, surrendering eight runs on nine hits -- including three home runs -- and three walks over six innings. He struck out three.

Minnesota hung two runs on the veteran southpaw in four separate innings, and Corbin was taken deep twice by Byron Buxton and once by Jose Miranda while also serving up extra-base hits to Carlos Santana and Carlos Correa. It's the first time since March 30 that Corbin has been tagged for multiple homers, but he wasn't having much success when keeping the ball in the park, either. He'll carry a 6.29 ERA, 1.77 WHIP and 32:21 K:BB through 54.1 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come early next week in Atlanta.

Rogers came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 7-5 loss to the Brewers, giving up four runs on six hits and four walks over 3.2 innings. He struck out four.

The lefty threw only 53 of 90 pitches for strikes before leaving the mound, and his final line could have been a lot worse -- Owen Miller and Christian Yelich were thrown out at home in consecutive innings, and Milwaukee stranded runners in scoring position in every frame Rogers pitched. It's the third time in four May starts he's failed to complete four innings, and he's saddled with a 10.05 ERA, 2.58 WHIP and 14:11 K:BB through 14.1 innings on the month. Rogers will look to turn things around in his next outing, which is scheduled to come early next week in San Diego.

Gasser came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Marlins, coughing up five runs (four earned) on 10 hits over six innings. He didn't walk or strike out a batter.

The rookie southpaw had a respectable 24 called or swinging strikes on his 80 pitches, but Gasser mostly pitched to contact and watched a number of grounders make it past the Brewers' infield defenders. He left the game in line for his first loss in the majors, but Milwaukee rallied in the eighth inning. Gasser will take a 2.65 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 6:1 K:BB through 17 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come this weekend in Boston.

Pfaadt (2-3) got the win over the Dodgers on Tuesday, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits and a walk while striking out seven over six innings.

Pfaadt picked up a win for the first time since his season-opening start against the Rockies on March 31. His first run allowed was unearned off a throwing error by Gabriel Moreno and then the Dodgers finally got to him in the sixth for a pair. Pfaadt only gave up one barreled ball on the evening and now has five straight quality starts and seven or more strikeouts three times. The 25-year-old now owns a 4.05 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 58:11 K:BB in 60 innings and lines up to face the Rangers on the road next week.

Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said that Nelson is unlikely to start Wednesday versus the Dodgers as previously scheduled, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports.

Lovullo hinted that he would likely use an opening pitcher in front of Nelson, adding that the team plans to make a roster move ahead of Wednesday's series finale. Though he likely won't be in line for a traditional start, Nelson should still be in store to handle the bulk of the innings out of the bullpen, and the arrangement may set him up better to come away with a win.
