Gerrit Cole SP | NYY
Yankees' Gerrit Cole: Hoping to start this weekend
Cole (general fatigue) reiterated he's not dealing with an arm issue after being scratched from Tuesday's start against the Phillies, and he expects to pitch this weekend versus the Blue Jays, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Cole has also been battling a stomach bug this week, per Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News, so taking few extra days to rest should be beneficial. Cole's status over the next few days will be worth monitoring, but there doesn't appear to be any long-term concerns. Will Warren is making his MLB debut Tuesday for the Yankees.

Luis Garcia SP | NYY
Astros' Luis Garcia: Throws two simulated innings
Garcia (elbow) threw 30 pitches split across two simulated innings Tuesday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Garcia faced hitters Tuesday and was able to reach 93 miles per hour during the session, which is in line with his normal fastball velocity. While the right-hander will still require a rehab assignment, the expectation is that Garcia will join the Astros before the regular season ends.

Jacob deGrom SP | TEX
Rangers' Jacob deGrom: Session on tap for 45 pitches
DeGrom (elbow) will throw a 45-pitch bullpen session Tuesday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
DeGrom is expected to throw two total bullpen sessions on this road trip before facing hitters. He threw between 40 and 45 pitches in a bullpen session a week ago, so deGrom's workload hasn't been increasing, although his intensity in each session could be progressing. Once he throws his final bullpen session this week, we could get an update on when and where he will face hitters.

Kade Morris SP | ATH
Athletics' Kade Morris: Dealt to Oakland
The Athletics acquired Morris from the Mets on Tuesday in exchange for right-hander Paul Blackburn, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Morris, 22, holds a 3.51 ERA and 95:30 K:BB over 92.1 innings between the Single- and High-A levels in 2024. The right-hander was a third-round pick in the 2023 First-Year Player Draft.

Mason Barnett RP | ATH
Athletics' Mason Barnett: Traded to Athletics
The Royals traded Barnett, Will Klein and Jared Dickey to Oakland on Tuesday in exchange for Lucas Erceg, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.
A third-round draft pick in 2022, Barnett has spent all of 2024 with the Royals' Double-A affiliate, making 18 appearances (17 starts) with a 4.21 ERA and a 105:35 K:BB across 87.2 innings. The right-hander figures to report to the Athletics' Double-A affiliate.

Jhonathan Diaz RP | SEA
Mariners' Jhonathan Diaz: Summoned from minors
The Mariners recalled Diaz from Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday.
Diaz will take Gabe Speier's spot on the 26-man roster, marking Diaz's second MLB stint of the season. The 27-year-old's lone appearance with the Mariners came in June when he allowed three runs on nine hits in 5.1 innings as a starter. He's expected to serve out of the bullpen during this stint but could be called upon if the Mariners need a last-second starter. In 18 Triple-A outings (17 starts), Diaz has a 3.88 ERA with a 95:42 K:BB during 97.1 innings.

Gerrit Cole SP | NYY
Yankees' Gerrit Cole: Scratched from start due to fatigue
Cole has been scratched from Tuesday's scheduled start in Philadelphia due to general body fatigue, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
If the descriptor of the injury is indeed accurate, Cole's fantasy managers shouldn't be overly worried. If Cole's turn in the rotation is skipped entirely, he would line up to pitch next Tuesday against the Angels on what would be 12 days' rest. Will Warren will start for the Yankees on Tuesday in what will be his major-league debut.
-
Will Warren SP | NYY
Yankees' Will Warren: Drawing spot start Tuesday
The Yankees will call up Warren from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to start Tuesday's game against the Phillies, Meredith Marakovits of YES Network reports.
Gerrit Cole was slated to start Tuesday's game but was scratched due to general body fatigue. Warren will take Cole's place and make his MLB debut. Though Warren owns a 6.11 ERA across 20 Triple-A starts, he's allowed more than three runs just twice in his last 10 appearances. The right-hander has struck out 115 batters in 95.2 innings.

Gavin Williams SP | CLE
Guardians' Gavin Williams: Blanks Tigers for first win
Williams (1-3) picked up the win Tuesday over Detroit, allowing just two hits and a walk while striking out eight over five scoreless innings.
Williams was excellent Tuesday, holding the Tigers to a pair of singles en route to his first win in six starts this year. After allowing five runs in his season debut, Williams has held opponents to three runs or fewer in each of his subsequent five outings. The right-hander has seen his strikeout totals tick up of late, as well -- he's logged 17 punchouts in his last two starts (11 innings) after recording just 14 in his first four (18 innings). Williams' ERA is down to 3.72 on the campaign with a 1.34 WHIP and 31:11 K:BB. He's currently in line for a home matchup early next week with the Diamondbacks in his next start.

Alex Cobb SP | DET
Guardians' Alex Cobb: Headed to Cleveland
The Guardians acquired Cobb (hip/shoulder/blister) from the Giants on Tuesday in exchange for Jacob Bresnahan and a player to be named later, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Cobb has yet to pitch in the majors this season while recovering from a variety of injuries but had been expected to make a start for the Giants this weekend. The Guardians plan to give him one more rehab start before inserting him into their rotation next week, per Joel Sherman of the New York Post. Hayden Birdsong is expected to take Cobb's spot in the Giants' rotation.
