The Blue Jays placed Bieber on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with right teres major inflammation, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Bieber had shown no signs of being hurt, having allowed a combined two runs with a 12:2 K:BB over 13 innings covering his last two starts. The right-hander will be shut down from throwing for at least the next couple weeks after being diagnosed with a "mild-to-moderate" teres major injury, per Zwelling, so his absence will extend well beyond the 15-day minumum.

Pecko is slated to start Tuesday's game against the Yankees in New York.

Despite a poor showing in his MLB debut last Wednesday against the Angels -- he struck out four and gave up two runs on three hits and three walks over 3.2 innings -- Pecko will end up receiving another turn through the Houston rotation. Though the Yankees rank 28th in the majors with an 80 wRC+ since the All-Star break, Pecko won't make for a comfortable streaming option coming off an underwhelming performance versus the 30th-ranked Angels (75 wRC+). Pecko could be headed back to Triple-A Sugar Land following Tuesday's start, as Mike Burrows (elbow) has pitched well in his first two rehab outings and could be ready to come off the injured list by the end of the week to replace Pecko in the rotation.

Springs (3-12) took the loss Monday, allowing four runs on seven hits and two walks over 4.2 innings against the Twins. He struck out three.

The southpaw wasn't particularly effective, getting knocked out in the fifth inning after surrendering a solo homer to Ryan Kreidler and an RBI single to Kody Clemens. Springs threw 89 pitches (60 strikes) before exiting. In two starts since returning from an injured list stint due to right hip discomfort, the 33-year-old has allowed six runs with a 4:5 K:BB over 10.1 innings. Springs will take a 6.08 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 92:49 K:BB across 118.1 innings (24 starts) into his next outing, tentatively scheduled for Sunday against the Orioles.

Matthews (8-8) earned the win Monday, allowing one run on six hits and a walk over seven innings against the Athletics. He struck out seven.

Matthews kept the Athletics offense quiet while completing seven innings for the first time since June 29. In four August starts, the right-hander has gone 4-0 with a 3.57 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 19:6 K:BB across 22.2 frames. Overall, he owns a 4.86 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 88:32 K:BB across 103.2 innings (18 starts) and is tentatively scheduled to pitch Sunday against the White Sox.

Gilbert (11-7) allowed two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five batters over five innings in a win over Philadelphia on Monday.

Gilbert gave up two runs over his first two innings but settled in and didn't allow the Phillies to score thereafter. Meanwhile, Seattle's offense racked up eight runs through five frames to help Gilbert nab his third straight victory. The right-hander has given up three or fewer runs in each of his past seven starts, though he's pitched fewer than six innings four times during that span. Gilbert will carry a 3.36 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 162:39 K:BB through 155.1 frames into his next start, which is projected to be a road matchup against the red-hot Red Sox.

Klassen (2-2) took the loss against Cleveland on Monday, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and three walks while striking out three batters over 5.1 innings.

Klassen didn't have good control, as he threw only 54 of 90 pitches for strikes and walked three batters. Nonetheless, he kept the Angels in the game by holding the Guardians without an extra-base hit while falling two outs shy of a quality start. Klassen began his MLB career in poor fashion by giving up six earned runs over 4.2 frames across his first two appearances, but he's been much better since, yielding only five earned runs in his past four outings spanning 22.1 innings. That's brought his season ERA down to a respectable 3.67, but the right-hander still has a poor 1.63 WHIP and an ominous 24:21 K:BB across 27 innings overall. Klassen will almost certainly need to bring his walk rate down to experience prolonged MLB success, and he'll look to show growth in that area in his next start, which is tentatively scheduled to be a home matchup against the Yankees.

Messick (10-8) earned the win over the Angels on Monday, allowing one run on three hits and one walk while striking out four batters over six innings.

Messick was perfect for three innings, but the Angels got to him for a run on three singles in the fourth. Those ended up being the only hits the left-hander allowed, and he faced the minimum the rest of the way. Messick didn't have his swing-and-miss stuff working -- the four punchouts were his fewest since he notched just one strikeout against Miami on July 10 -- but he nonetheless recorded his second straight quality start and his 11th overall this season. He's been one of the AL's most effective starters in 2026 with a 2.50 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 156:41 K:BB over 155 innings spanning 26 starts.

Rocker (5-10) picked up the win while allowing two runs on five hits and three walks Monday. He struck out eight.

After three shaky outings from Rocker, he bounced back Monday against the White Sox. The 26-year-old's lone mistake was a two-run homer off the bat of Tristan Peters in the second inning. Rocker now owns a 4.41 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 117:51 K:BB in 126.2 innings this season.

Suarez didn't factor into the decision against the Marlins on Monday, allowing one run on four hits and four walks in five innings. He struck out four.

Suarez exhibited an uncharacteristic lack of control, issuing a season-worst four free passes, but he was still able to hold Miami in check Monday. The 30-year-old left-hander is still searching for a rhythm since coming off the injured list July 26 with a groin strain, logging a 4.00 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 20:11 K:BB over his last six starts (27 frames). Suarez, who still has a strong 3.35 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 117:37 K:BB across 118.1 innings in 2026, has a tough road matchup against the division-rival Yankees on tap for this weekend.

Valdez (8-9) took the loss against the Rays on Monday, allowing four runs (three earned) on eight hits and two walks in six innings. He failed to record a strikeout.

A fielding error by Brett Callahan kept an earned run off Valdez's ledger, so Monday's outing ultimately goes down as a quality start. The southpaw still didn't have his best stuff on the mound, turning in just the second start of his career (192 starts) where he didn't register a punchout. Valdez is set to wrap up a two-start week this weekend against a vaunted Dodgers lineup, carrying a shaky 4.35 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 111:56 K:BB over 144.2 innings for the year.
