Fried allowed three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out four batters over three innings in a no-decision against the White Sox on Monday.

Fried remained on a limited pitch count in his second game back from an over-two-month injury absence, so his 32-pitch first inning was far from ideal. The left-hander gave up all three of the runs he allowed in that first frame, though he allowed at least one baserunner in each of the other two innings in which he appeared. Fortunately for Fried, New York's offense got going after his departure to take him off the hook for a loss. Overall, Fried threw 66 pitches -- nine more than the amount he hurled in his return to action last Wednesday -- and he'll likely to continue to build up over his next couple starts until he's fully ramped back up. He's lined up to make his next appearance at Wrigley Field against the Cubs.

Scherzer took a no-decision Monday against the Nationals, allowing one run on four hits and three walks in 2.2 innings. He struck out four.

Making his return from a lengthy absence with back spasms and a thumb injury, Scherzer struggled to find his control Monday and also lacked efficiency. He threw 75 pitches (44 strikes) and still couldn't make it through three frames against one of his former teams, and Scherzer has now walked three batters in three consecutive starts while failing to work into the fifth inning in each. The 42-year-old right-hander appears to be on his last legs amidst an injury-plagued 2026 campaign, dragging a 9.49 ERA, 1.82 WHIP and 18:14 K:BB over 24.2 frames into his next scheduled appearance at home against the Cardinals.

Bradish did not factor into Monday's decision against the Tigers, when he allowed five runs on 10 hits and one walk while striking out four across 4.2 innings.

Bradish limited the Tigers to one run through three innings before giving up two runs in both the fourth and fifth frames, and he was lifted one out shy from being in line for the decision. The five earned runs he allowed matched a season high that he set three times earlier in the season, and the veteran right-hander now has a 3.74 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 114:52 K:BB across 118 innings this season. Bradish's next start is lined up for this weekend at home against the Phillies.

Montero (7-6) took the loss against the Orioles on Monday, allowing six runs (four earned) on nine hits and one walk while striking out one across 4.1 innings.

Montero put the Tigers on the back foot early by allowing four runs (two earned) through the first three frames before being tagged for two more runs in the fifth, which came from home runs from Leody Taveras and Coby Mayo. The four earned runs tied a season high that Montero set four times earlier in the year, and he now sports a 3.34 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 79:23 K:BB across 110.1 innings. His next start is lined up for this weekend on the road against the Athletics.

Cecconi won't make his scheduled start against the Reds on Monday, as the game has been postponed due to inclement weather.

Cleveland is now scheduled to play a doubleheader Tuesday. Cecconi will toe the rubber for the first game of the twin bill, per Tim Stebbins of MLB.com.

Arrighetti (foot) received an injection Monday and could be cleared to start a throwing program within the next few days, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Arrighetti was placed on the 15-day injured list Saturday after being diagnosed with right foot nerve irritation. A timeline for his return to the bump remains up in the air, and while it's promising news that he could gain clearance to throw later in the week, it will ultimately depend on how his foot responds to the injection.

Springs (hip) is expected to be available the next time his turn in the rotation comes up Friday versus the Tigers in Sacramento, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Springs made an early exit in Sunday's 11-8 loss to the Twins due to right hip discomfort. Fortunately for the veteran southpaw, an MRI on his hip came back clean, so assuming he can make it through his upcoming bullpen session without issue, he should be free of restrictions Friday. Over his 11 home starts this season, Springs has pitched to a 6.79 ERA and 1.55 WHIP over 54.1 innings.

Kirby (8-9) took the loss against the Rangers on Monday, allowing seven runs on seven hits while striking out three across four innings.

Kirby tied a career high with four home runs allowed in Monday's game, two of which came off the bat of Joc Pederson, and the seven runs that the former allowed were his most of the season and his most since Sept. 3, 2025. It broke Kirby's streak of quality starts at six, and it was just the second time this season that he completed less than five innings. He'll take a 3.98 ERA and 1.30 WHIP over 120 innings into his next start, which is lined up for this weekend at home against Minnesota.

Rocker (4-8) earned the win against the Mariners on Monday, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out seven across 6.2 innings.

Rocker has tossed quality starts in back-to-back outings, with his only blemishes Monday being a Randy Arozarena solo homer in the second inning and a Julio Rodriguez sacrifice fly in the third. Rocker induced 14 whiffs on 88 pitches (57 strikes), and it was the third time this season that he registered at least seven strikeouts. He'll take a 4.03 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 93:38 K:BB across 102.2 innings into his next start, which is lined up for this weekend on the road against the Astros.

Bassitt (back) will embark on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Bassitt has been shelved since early June due to a back injury, which required a minor procedure to remove bone spurs. He's ready to take the next step in his recovery program, and he'll likely need a lengthy rehab assignment before returning to the Orioles' rotation. Bassitt appeared in 12 games (10 starts) before his IL stint and had a 5.27 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 37:22 K:BB across 56.1 innings.
