Dunn (shoulder) was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday.

Dunn left his Thursday start after two innings due to soreness in his right shoulder. Per Corey Brock of The Athletic, Dunn is waiting on the results of an MRI taken earlier Friday. The right-hander spent just over the minimum 10 days on the IL earlier this month due to shoulder inflammation. The Mariners are expected to go back to a five-man rotation for the time being.

Bubic will not start Saturday's game against the Red Sox and will be available out of the bullpen beginning Friday, Lynn Worthy of The Kansas City Star reports.

Bubic originally lined up to take the ball Saturday, but the Royals have opted to skip him and Jackson Kowar with the club having an off day Thursday and another off day Monday. Both Bubic and Kowar will be available out of the bullpen Friday and it's not clear what the Royals are planning to do with their rotation past this weekend. Brad Keller and Mike Minor will move up to start Saturday and Sunday respectively.

Sale (elbow) threw 40 pitches in a bullpen session Friday, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

Sale impressed during a bullpen session at the end of last week, and he had another throwing session in Worcester on Friday. The southpaw treated the bullpen as though he was warming up for a game as he continues to make progress in his recovery. Manager Alex Cora has expressed optimism that Sale could face hitters in the near future, but he'll continue to be monitored in the coming days to determine his next steps.

Houck (elbow) checked out fine after his start for Triple-A Worcester on Thursday, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.

Houck was only expected to throw two innings Thursday, but he wound up throwing 45 pitches across three scoreless innings. He allowed no hits and a walk while striking out six. The right-hander will continue to be monitored in the coming days, but he should continue to ramp up his workload going forward.

Hill didn't factor into the decision Thursday against the Mariners after allowing four runs on six hits and a walk while fanning five across five innings. He also allowed two home runs.

Hill has given up a homer in four of his last six appearances and has also allowed at least four runs in back-to-back contests. The veteran owns a 4.91 ERA across three starts this month and is scheduled to take the mound against the Red Sox at home next week.

Cleveland is tentatively planning to have Quantrill start Saturday's game in Pittsburgh on three days' rest, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

With Shane Bieber (shoulder) recently joining Zach Plesac (finger) on the injured list, Quantrill has been moved back into the rotation after spending most of the season in the bullpen. He turned in a strong showing as a starter in Tuesday's win over the Orioles, striking out four and allowing one run over four innings. Cleveland capped Quantrill at 60 pitches in that outing, so he likely won't be asked to push far past that level this weekend, especially since he'll be returning to the mound on short rest.

Cease (5-3) allowed seven runs (six earned) on four hits and two walks while striking out four across 3.1 innings, taking the loss to the Astros on Thursday.

Cease dug the White Sox an early hole, allowing the first three batters he faced to score on a Michael Brantley home run. In addition, he failed to make it through the fourth inning after five of the six batters he faced in the frame reached safely before he was finally relieved. The line from Thursday's start was nearly identical to his June 1 outing against Cleveland, when he took his last loss. The 25-year-old still has strong numbers through 14 starts, with a 3.99 ERA and 11.4 K/9 in 70 innings.

Urquidy (5-3) allowed two earned runs on four hits and a walk while striking out five across seven innings, earning the win over the White Sox on Thursday.

The sixth inning was the only frame that Urquidy ran into trouble, as he surrendered three hits and a walk, which ultimately led to a pair of runs. However, he allowed just one hit over the other six innings combined. The 26-year-old has a 3.65 ERA and a solid 1.00 WHIP with 60 strikeouts over 69 innings. He does a great job limiting walks with a 1.6 BB/9 and has pitched seven frames in each of his past two starts.

Manning will make his second big-league start Wednesday against the Cardinals, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Manning made his major-league debut Thursday, and he fared pretty well by limiting the Angels to two earned runs on four hits and two walks while striking out three in five innings. He was charged with the loss but took on a fairly normal workload by throwing 77 pitches. After the game, manager A.J. Hinch confirmed that Manning will remain in the rotation to make the second start of his career, and he should have the chance to prove he deserves to stay in a starting role long term.
