Dunning (4-7) allowed two earned runs on six hits and two walks with three strikeouts over 6.1 innings, picking up the win in Tuesday's 5-4 victory over the Diamondbacks.

While the stats might not jump off the page, Dunning was solid in picking up the quality start Tuesday night. His adventure into the seventh inning marked the deepest he's gone into a game this season, but this isn't a philosophical change from Chris Woodward and crew. A pitch count of 75-80 remains a stark reality for the former Florida Gator, as the Rangers still want to be careful with Dunning. The only reason the right-hander made it into the seventh was his incredible efficiency. He finished the night having thrown just 78 pitches. If Dunning is ever unleashed, he could become more of a fantasy factor.

Maeda allowed one earned run on four hits and two walks while striking out five across 6.1 innings Tuesday against Detroit. He did not factor into the decision.

Maeda allowed only a solo home run to Akil Baddoo. He otherwise shut down the Tigers' lineup, generating 14 swinging strikes on 91 total pitches. The only downside to his outing was that he lost the chance for a win due a meltdown by Hansel Robles in the ninth inning. After a shaky start to the season that was worsened by an absence due to a groin and arm injury, Maeda has allowed only seven earned runs across his last five starts and 29.1 frames. Overall, he has a 4.40 ERA with 90 strikeouts across 86 innings on the campaign.

Keller allowed one earned run on four hits and two walks while striking out four across seven innings Tuesday against the White Sox. He did not factor into the decision.

Keller worked very efficiently, needing only 90 pitches to record his 21 outs. The only blemish to his effort was a solo home run that he surrendered to Gavin Sheets in the fourth inning. After delivering poor results for much of the first half of the season, Keller has allowed only seven earned runs across his last 27.2 innings over a span of four starts. Even with that strong stretch, Keller has a 5.55 ERA with 93 strikeouts across 108.2 frames.

The Mariners reached an agreement to acquire Anderson from the Pirates on Tuesday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

The left-hander appeared to be on his way to Philadelphia when an agreement was reached earlier in the day, but the trade fell through due to the medicals of one of the return players. Pittsburgh didn't take long to find a new trade partner and new team for Anderson. The Pirates will receive two prospects from the Mariners, catcher Carter Bins and pitcher Joaquin Tejada.

Cease allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits and a walk while striking out six across six innings Tuesday against the Royals. He did not factor into the decision.

Cease largely held the Royals in check, as the majority of his struggles came in the second inning. This was his first quality start in his last four outings, and it was also the first time in his last six starts that he kept the ball in the yard. Though he's been a bit up and down, mixing solid outings with occasional blowups, Cease has still managed a 4.14 ERA with 138 strikeouts across 108.2 frames on the campaign.

Manager Joe Maddon said the Angels are optimistic Cobb (finger) will make his next turn through the rotation, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

The veteran right-hander exited Friday's start with a blister on his index finger, but he played catch Tuesday and still has a chance of making his next turn through the rotation, which lines up for Thursday versus the A's. Cobb has been pitching well through four starts in July with a 1.09 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 21:9 K:BB across 24.2 innings.

Severino (elbow) tossed another live batting practice session Tuesday, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

It marked Severino's third live session since the right-hander's rehab assignment was paused because of a right groin strain. It seems possible that his next step will be to resume his rehab stint, though the Yankees could opt to have him throw another simulated game first. Once he's sent on a rehab assignment, the plan is for the 27-year-old to get stretched out to be able to throw five or six innings. With that in mind, he remains on track for a mid-to-late August return.

Ray won't start as scheduled Tuesday at Boston since the game was postponed due to inclement weather, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Wednesday, and Ray figures to start one of those contests. He faced the Red Sox in his most recent start July 21, when he surrendered four runs -- including three homers -- across five innings.

Manager Charlie Montoyo said Tuesday that Manoah (back) is on track to be activated from the 10-day injured list to start Saturday against the Royals, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet reports.

It was reported Monday that Manoah could be activated to start Saturday, and that appears to be closer to a sure thing now. Manoah hasn't pitched since July 9 because of a back bruise suffered when he slipped on the dugout steps.

Urena (groin) has been throwing flat-ground sessions but hasn't gotten on the mound yet, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Urena went down July 17 with right groin tightness and appears at least a couple weeks from returning. After he eventually begins throwing bullpens from the mound, the righty will still have to face hitters and will likely require a minor-league rehab assignment as well. In 17 starts this season, Urena has pitched 80 innings, posting a 6.19 ERA and 1.65 WHIP.
