Gilbert (5-5) allowed nine runs on eight hits and one walk with five strikeouts through 4.2 innings, taking the loss in Saturday's 15-1 shellacking at the hands of the Astros.

Gilbert needed 94 pitches to get through 4.2 innings, as the Astros demolished everything the Mariners' starter had to offer. The big blow came in the third inning when Yordan Alvarez took the 24-year-old over the wall in left field for a three-run homer. After making it through his first 10 starts with a 3.51 ERA, Gilbert has a 7.56 ERA in his last seven outings.

Gil and the Yankees won't play Sunday against the Twins after the game was postponed due to inclement weather.

Gil was slated to be recalled to start Sunday's series finale against Minnesota, but the game won't be played since Hurricane Henri is forecasted to hit the East Coast. It's not yet clear whether the right-hander will start Monday's series opener against Atlanta.

Maeda (forearm) will undergo additional testing, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Maeda was charged with the loss against the Yankees on Saturday and was removed from the game in the bottom of the fifth inning due to his injury. Forearm issues are cause for concern with all pitchers, so it's not surprising that the right-hander will undergo tests, including an MRI. Manager Rocco Baldelli isn't yet sure how long Maeda will be sidelined, but a better idea of his return timetable likely won't be known until the results of his tests are known.

Maeda was removed from Saturday's game against the Yankees with right forearm tightness, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Maeda struggled early in Saturday's start, as he allowed five runs on four hits and a walk while striking out five in 4.1 innings prior to his removal. The right-hander had earned wins in each of his last two starts, and his injury likely contributed to his lackluster performance against the Yankees. It's not yet clear whether the issue will prompt a trip to the injured list, but the right-hander tentatively lines up to make his next start at home against the Brewers on Friday if he's deemed healthy enough to pitch.

Cobb (wrist) suffered a setback in his recovery recently, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Cobb played catch Wednesday without experiencing issues, but he'll be shut down indefinitely following his recent setback. Manager Joe Maddon said Saturday that he doesn't know when the right-hander will be able to resume pitching.

Urquidy (shoulder) will throw a bullpen session at Minute Maid Park on Sunday, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Urquidy began a rehab assignment with the Florida Complex League affiliate Thursday, and he allowed a hit and no walks while striking out six in three scoreless innings. His bullpen session will allow the major-league staff to see his progress before he joins Triple-A Sugar Land to continue his rehab assignment afterward.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone indicated that German (shoulder) "had some soreness" following his Wednesday bullpen session, per MLB.com.

The right-hander's most recent BP included a variety of pitches after he threw only fastballs in his previous bullpen last weekend. However, German reported feeling sore Thursday, leaving his next step unclear. Boone did not indicate how long the setback may delay German's return, if at all.

Kaprielian (7-4) earned the win Friday against the Giants after tossing five innings of one-run ball, allowing three hits and four walks while fanning four.

The right-hander tossed 54 of his 92 pitches for strikes and tied his season-high mark for walks in this outing, but he still did enough to outduel Alex Wood en route to his seventh win of the campaign. The rookie has now allowed three or fewer earned runs in each of his last three appearances, going 2-0 with a 3.31 ERA in that span, and his season-long ERA stands at 3.25 through 88.2 innings.

Kikuchi (7-7) allowed seven runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out two over just 2.2 innings in a loss to the Astros on Friday.

Kikuchi was hammered early and often Friday, allowing multiple runs in all three innings he pitched in before being pulled. Five of the seven runs he gave up came on a trio of long balls, marking the first time he's let up more than two homers in an outing this year. The 30-year-old southpaw has had little success against the Astros this year. In four games against the division rivals, Kikuchi is 1-2 with a 6.23 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 19:10 K:BB. Fortunately, he projects to have a softer matchup next week against the Royals.

Wacha didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 7-5 extra-innings loss to the White Sox, allowing four runs (two earned) on eight hits over five innings. He struck out nine without walking a batter.

The nine whiffs tied his season high. Wacha hasn't pitched more than five innings in any of his seven starts since the All-Star break, but the tight leash hasn't led to better results as he has a 7.64 ERA, 1.82 WHIP, 35:8 K:BB and 2.5 HR/9 in 33 innings over that stretch.
