Eovaldi (4-2) earned the win over the Angels on Wednesday, pitching five scoreless innings during which he allowed six hits while striking out five.

The Angels put at least one runner on base in four of the Eovaldi's five innings, but they didn't manage any extra-base hits and weren't able to get any runners to third base. The right-hander was fairly inefficient with 84 pitches over five frames, but he didn't walk any batters and racked up 14 swinging strikes. Eovaldi lowered his season ERA to 3.16 with the strong outing, and he has pitched 11 scoreless innings while notching 13 strikeouts and a pair of wins over his past two starts.

Bieber allowed three hits and struck out six across 4.1 scoreless innings Wednesday against the Rangers. He did not factor into the decision.

Bieber got little resistance from the Rangers early in the game, as he retired 11 of the first 12 batters he faced. He racked up an impressive 11 swinging strikes across 54 pitches but was ultimately forced from the game after a lengthy rain delay. The Guardians were up 4-0 at the time and maintained that lead for the rest of the contest, so Bieber ran into some bad luck to lose the chance for a win. Even so, Bieber has been in excellent form of late, allowing only six earned runs across his last 32.1 frames. Overall, Bieber owns a 2.91 ERA with a 68:16 K:BB across 65 frames on the campaign.

Dunning (1-4) allowed four earned runs on nine hits while striking out one across four innings to take the loss Wednesday against the Guardians.

Dunning allowed a pair of runs in the second and third frames to turn in a disappointing outing. He was pulled after 64 pitches due to a lengthy rain delay, robbing him of the chance to work deeper into the outing to mitigate some of the damage he surrendered. Dunning has had drastically varied results of late, as he's allowed four or more earned runs in three of his last six starts. In the other three outings, he's allowed a combined six earned runs across 19.1 frames. For the season, Dunning has a 4.41 ERA and 64:20 K:BB across 65.2 innings.

Cueto (0-3) was charged with the loss Wednesday after he pitched six innings, surrendering three runs on four hits and a walk while striking out five versus the Dodgers.

Cueto was hurt by the long ball in this one, giving up a two-run homer to Will Smith in the first frame and a solo shot to Cody Bellinger in the second. It was his fifth consecutive start where he tossed at least six innings to open the season, but after starting the year with 12 scoreless frames, he's allowed 11 runs over 18.2 innings in his last three outings. Cueto's season numbers now stand at a 3.23 ERA and 1.17 WHIP with 24 punchouts over 30.2 innings in five starts. He'll look to get into the win column his next time on the mound, which tentatively lines up with him facing the Tigers on Monday.

Sale (ribs) is scheduled to throw another bullpen session Friday before progressing to live batting practice next week, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

The veteran left-hander originally lined up for live batting practice Friday, but things were pushed back a few days due to a stomach bug. Sale has been slowly ramping up his bullpen sessions over the past couple weeks, and advancing to face live hitters will represent a significant step in his rehab program.

Cortes (5-2) got the loss Wednesday after he pitched 4.1 innings, surrendering four runs on seven hits while striking out three against the Twins.

The Twins got to Cortes for two runs in the bottom of the fourth frame before launching two solo homers in the next inning. The four runs given up were his highest total of the season while the loss snaps a four-start win streak for the 27-year-old. Cortes still owns an incredible 1.96 ERA and 0.92 WHIP with 71 strikeouts over 64.1 innings in 11 outings this season. He'll look to rebound in his next start, which tentatively lines up for him to take on the Rays on Tuesday.

Faedo allowed one run on three hits across five innings but did not factor into the decision Wednesday against the Pirates. He walked one and struck out seven.

Faedo allowed a solo home run to Jack Suwinski in the fourth inning but was otherwise lights out Wednesday. It continued a great start to his MLB career, as the righty now has a 2.92 ERA across his first seven starts. He's gone at least five innings and allowed two runs or fewer in all of those appearances. Faedo has quickly entrenched himself in the Detroit rotation, and he'll look to keep rolling in his next scheduled start Monday against the White Sox.

Lyles won't start as scheduled Wednesday versus the Cubs since the game was postponed due to inclement weather.

Wednesday's contest was delayed by rain for nearly two hours before the game was postponed, and it will be made up in mid-August. The Orioles have yet to officially announce their updated pitching plans, but Lyles figures to start Thursday in Kansas City with the rest of the rotation pushed back a day.

Suarez was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday.

The left-hander was called up to start Tuesday and took a no-decision after giving up three runs over five innings, and he'll quickly head back to the minors. Suarez should rejoin the starting rotation for Salt Lake, though he could be in the mix to rejoin the Angels for a doubleheader June 18.

Watkins (forearm) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list and optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday, Zachary Silver of MLB.com reports.

The right-hander threw several bullpen sessions over the last few weeks and will return from the injured list after spending just over the minimum of 15 days on the shelf. However, Dean Kremer has been named Baltimore's fifth starter, so Watkins will join the rotation in Norfolk for now. Watkins should be one of the top candidates for a call-up if the Orioles need an additional starter.
