Gibson has joined the Orioles' taxi squad and is expected to be formally recalled from Triple-A Norfolk to start either Wednesday versus the Rays or Thursday against the Blue Jays, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Chris Bassitt is lined up to take the ball on whichever of the two days Gibson doesn't start. In one start and one relief outing for the Orioles this season, Gibson has posted a 5.40 ERA and 4:3 K:BB over 6.2 innings. The Orioles need a spot starter after having a doubleheader this past weekend, and Gibson is likely to be sent back down following the outing.

Skubal (elbow) threw 39 pitches over 2.2 innings in a simulated game Tuesday, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Skubal struck out three and served up a home run to Jahmai Jones in what was his first time facing hitters since he underwent surgery earlier this month to remove a loose body from his left elbow. Per Evan Woodbery of MLive.com, manager A.J. Hinch said that the two-time Cy Young Award winner is slated to throw another live batting practice session in five days, and Skubal will require at least one minor-league rehab start after that before being activated from the injured list. Skubal continues to make a swift recovery and appears to be tracking toward a return to the Detroit rotation within the next few weeks.

The White Sox selected Sandlin's contract from Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday.

Chicago placed Noah Schultz (knee) on the 15-day injured list in the corresponding move, and the White Sox intend to have Sandlin replace him in the rotation beginning with Wednesday's game against the Twins at Rate Field, per James Fegan of SoxMachine.com. Acquired from the Red Sox during the offseason, Sandlin's organizational debut was delayed until late April while he recovered from a sore elbow, but he was highly productive over a four-start stretch at Charlotte (0.75 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 17:6 K:BB in 12 innings). Sandlin didn't cover more than four innings in any of those starts, however, so he'll likely be limited from a workload standpoint Wednesday in his MLB debut.

Jump will be called up from Triple-A Las Vegas to make his major-league debut Tuesday with a start against the Mariners, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Reports had surfaced earlier Tuesday indicating that Jump was on his way to the big leagues, and now there's a specific date attached to his debut. Tuesday's previously scheduled starter, Luis Severino, will be pushed back as a result of Jump's addition to the rotation. Jump has collected a 4.50 ERA and 56:20 K:BB over 38 innings with Las Vegas this season and has spun 11 shutout frames with a 15:1 K:BB in his last two starts.

The Guardians selected Dion's contract from Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday.

Dion has transitioned into a full-time reliever in 2026, and while his ERA at Columbus is a tad bloated at 4.50, he's put up an impressive 36:5 K:BB over 26 innings. The left-hander will be making his major-league debut when/if he gets into a game.

The Guardians optioned Allen to Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday.

Allen saved the Guardians' bullpen by recording seven strikeouts and allowing just two unearned runs allowed over four innings Monday versus the Nationals. He threw 83 pitches in the appearance, so Allen is being replaced by a fresh bullpen arm in Will Dion.

Athletics manager Mark Kotsay said Monday that Civale will undergo testing Tuesday for a right shoulder/lat issue and will "likely" go on the 15-day injured list, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Civale was rocked for seven runs over four innings while showing diminished velocity in Monday's loss to the Mariners. The right-hander revealed that "it's something I've been working through for a little bit," and that he's not feeling much pain, but "just something's off." More will be known about a potential timetable for Civale after the test results are in. Gage Jump is expected to be called up from Triple-A Las Vegas to take Civale's spot in the Athletics' rotation.

The Athletics are slated to call up Jump from Triple-A Las Vegas to make his major-league debut, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

He will enter the rotation in place of the injured Aaron Civale (shoulder/lat). Jump has had an up-and-down season at Las Vegas with a 4.50 ERA and 56:20 K:BB over 38 innings, but he's been really sharp over his last two outings while tossing 11 shutout frames with a 15:1 K:BB. It's unclear when Jump will make his debut, but he last pitched May 20, so he's already sufficiently rested.

Lewis (shoulder) has allowed five earned runs on five hits and four walks while striking out six over 6.2 innings in two appearances for Double-A Wichita since being assigned to the affiliate Wednesday after being reinstated from Triple-A St. Paul's 7-day injured list.

Lewis was shut down in spring training due to a right shoulder strain and opened the season on the shelf for St. Paul before he was cleared to begin a rehab assignment April 17. Over five rehab appearances between Single-A Fort Myers and the rookie-level Florida Complex League, Lewis struggled to regain form, posting a 6.00 ERA, 1.89 WHIP and 12:8 K:BB in nine innings. Though he's seemingly healthy again, Lewis will need to find success at Wichita before St. Paul brings him aboard as a potential rotation option.

Allen allowed two unearned runs on five hits and one walk while striking out seven over four relief innings in Monday's 10-2 loss to Washington.

Allen, a starter in the minors, was called up Sunday and needed to bail out the bullpen a day later when starter Tanner Bibee was done after three innings. The Guardians are in the middle of a stretch where they are playing 13 consecutive days, which can be taxing on a 'pen. Given that Allen burned 61 pitches Monday, he's unlikely to be available for several days. As such, his locker was cleaned out post-game, indicating the Guardians will make a roster move Tuesday, per Tim Stebbins of MLB.com.
