  • Red Sox's Jake Bennett: Keeps dealing in fourth win

Bennett (4-3) earned the win Wednesday against the White Sox, allowing no runs on four hits and one walk in seven innings. He struck out four. Bennett was phenomenal Wednesday, scattering four singles across seven scoreless frames. The 25-year-old southpaw appears to be cementing his place in Boston's rotation after beginning the campaign with Triple-A Worcester, spinning at least six innings while yielding two runs or fewer in four consecutive starts. Bennett has effectively put himself in must-roster fantasy territory heading into the All-Star break, holding an impressive 2.64 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 35:8 K:BB over 47.2 innings.

  • Red Sox's Jake Bennett: Strong outing in win

Bennett (3-3) earned the win against the Angels on Friday, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out six over 7.2 innings. He also tossed a wild pitch but did not walk a batter. This was Bennett's longest outing of the season, and he came just four outs shy of tossing a complete game, though by the time he left the mound, he was already at 92 pitches (61 strikes). Bennett has been pitching very well of late, and this was his fourth consecutive outing allowing two earned runs or fewer. He owns a 1.78 ERA and 0.67 WHIP across 25.1 innings over that stretch, and he's slated to make his next start on the road against the White Sox.

  • Red Sox's Jake Bennett: Sharp in second win

Bennett (2-3) picked up the win Saturday, allowing one run on three hits and two walks over 6.1 innings in a 4-1 victory over the Yankees. He struck out three. The rookie southpaw tossed 87 pitches (59 strikes) en route to his second straight quality start. Bennett, who was acquired from the Nationals over the winter, has proven to be find for the Red Sox, and through his first six big-league outings he's delivered a 3.27 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 25:7 K:BB through 33 innings. He'll try to stay sharp in his next start, which is set to come on the road next weekend against the Angels.

  • Red Sox's Jake Bennett: Handed another start

Bennett is slated to start Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays. Currently in the midst of his second stint with the Red Sox of the season, Bennett has reached five innings in each of his first three MLB starts, but he's delivered poor ratios (5.28 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 4.6 K-BB%). He'll get another chance Wednesday to stake his claim to a more permanent stay in the Boston rotation, taking on a Blue Jays squad that has struggled against left-handed pitching this season (.292 wOBA, 27th in MLB).

  • Red Sox's Jake Bennett: Downed by Tampa

Bennett (1-2) took the loss Wednesday, giving up four runs on seven hits and a walk over five innings as the Red Sox fell 7-5 to the Rays. He struck out four. Facing Tampa Bay for the second time in his first three big-league starts, Bennett lost to Boston's AL East rival once again. The southpaw tossed 52 of 73 pitches for strikes, getting tagged for one run in the third inning and three more in the fifth before leaving the mound. He could stick around in the majors a little longer this time with Brayan Bello bumped down to Triple-A, but Bennett's 5.28 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 8:5 K:BB in 15.1 MLB innings isn't encouraging. The 25-year-old lines up to make his next start at home next week against the Blue Jays.

  • Red Sox's Jake Bennett: Recalled to start Wednesday's game

The Red Sox recalled Bennett from Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports. Bennett will make a start against the Rays on Wednesday at Tropicana Field. The left-hander yielded five earned runs on 11 hits with a 4:4 K:BB in two starts with the Red Sox last month and boasts a 1.49 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 41:9 K:BB in 42.1 innings over 10 starts for Worcester. Bennett could get an opportunity to stick in the rotation for a while until Garrett Crochet (lat) is ready.

  • Red Sox's Jake Bennett: Returns to Triple-A after start

Bennett was optioned to Triple-A Worcester after Thursday's 8-4 loss to Tampa Bay, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports. Bennett made his second career major-league start Thursday at home versus the Rays, taking the loss while allowing four runs on six hits and two walks while striking out one batter over 5.1 innings. The southpaw has combined to pitch 10.1 innings while surrendering four runs in two outings with Boston, and he'll likely get another shot with the major-league roster down the road this season.

  • Red Sox's Jake Bennett: Another start awaits Thursday

Bennett is slated to start Thursday's game against the Rays at Fenway Park, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports. The Red Sox welcomed Sonny Gray (hamstring) back from the injured list Wednesday, but Bennett will wind up sticking around in the big-league rotation for another turn while the status of Ranger Suarez (hamstring) remains in flux. Boston is still leaving the door open for Suarez to start either of the final two games of the series versus the Rays, and if that comes to pass, Bennett could be headed back to Triple-A Worcester following Thursday's outing. The 25-year-old lefty turned in a strong performance in his MLB debut last Friday, striking out three while limiting the Astros to one run on five hits and two walks over five innings en route to picking up a win.

  • Red Sox's Jake Bennett: Dealt to Boston

Bennett was traded from the Nationals to the Red Sox on Monday in exchange for Luis Perales, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports. Bennett pitched well during the 2025 season in his first year back since Tommy John surgery, posting a 2.56 ERA and 1.13 WHIP with 33 strikeouts across 45.2 innings at Double-A. He's yet to pitch above the Double-A level, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see him begin the 2026 campaign in Portland now that he's joined Boston's farm system. Chief baseball officer for the Red Sox, Craig Breslow, is clearly high on the southpaw. "We feel like Bennett is a high probability starter that excels in some things that are hard to teach," said Breslow, per Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com. "Fastball playability driven by above average extension and strike throwing ability. His whiff rates and ability to manage hard contact have us confident in his ability to be a major league starter."

  • Nationals' Jake Bennett: Added to 40-man roster

The Nationals selected Bennett's contract from Double-A Harrisburg on Tuesday. After missing the 2024 season while recovering from Tommy John surgery, Bennett held a 2.27 ERA and 64:19 K:BB over 75.1 innings covering three levels in 2025. The left-hander is now protected from next month's Rule 5 Draft.

  • Nationals' Jake Bennett: Active at High-A

Bennett gave up three runs on two hits and two walks while striking out four over three innings in his first start of the year for High-A Wilmington on Sunday. Bennett, who underwent Tommy John surgery in September of 2023, made two rehab starts for Single-A Fredericksburg in early May, logging a 1.50 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 7:0 K:BB in six innings. The 6-foot-6 lefty will likely get the bump to Double-A sometime this summer if he's holding his own, as he is already 24.
