Verlander (9-3) earned the win Friday after holding the Yankees to one run on four hits over seven innings. He had three strikeouts and one walk.

The veteran right-hander tied his season low with only three strikeouts, but he kept New York off the board besides a solo home run from Giancarlo Stanton in the sixth. Verlander now has only 11 strikeouts across his past three starts, though he still has two wins and a 2.55 ERA in those outings. He tentatively lines up for a rematch with the Yankees at home on Thursday.

Manoah (9-2) allowed two runs on five hits and three walks with six strikeouts in 6.2 innings, earning the win Friday over the Brewers.

Manoah allowed a run on a fielder's choice in the fifth inning and gave up a solo home run to Tyrone Taylor in the seventh. The Blue Jays' offense was more than capable of covering that damage, allowing Manoah to earn his fourth win in his last five starts. It was also his 12th quality start in 14 outings this season, as the 24-year-old right-hander continues to pitch like an ace. He has a 2.05 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 79:18 K:BB while allowing just six homers in 87.2 innings this year. He's projected for a home start versus the Red Sox next week, though it's unclear if the Blue Jays will stay on rotation with an eight-game week ahead or if they'll call upon a spot starter early in the week. If Manoah gets pushed back a day, he'd face the Rays.

Quantrill allowed two runs on five hits and two walks across five innings during Friday's 6-3 loss to Boston.

Quantrill struggled with his command and threw only 55 of his 89 pitches for strikes, but he still delivered a solid line in the no-decision. He served up a solo home run to Rafael Devers during the third inning, and it's the fourth straight start the right-hander has surrendered a long ball. Quantrill will carry a 3.76 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 48:25 K:BB over 76.2 frames into his next start, which currently lines up for Wednesday versus the Twins.

Manager Brandon Hyde said Watkins will be added to the big-league roster to start Saturday against the White Sox, Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun reports.

The 29-year-old is already with the Orioles on the taxi squad, so it's not a major surprise he'll be activated to fill the rotation spot of Kyle Bradish (shoulder), who landed on the injured list Friday. Watkins has made eight starts for Baltimore this season and has a 6.00 ERA, 1.70 WHIP and 14:15 K:BB across 30 innings, so he's not guaranteed to stick in the rotation behind Saturday.

Bundy (4-4) allowed a run on four hits and two walks with two strikeouts in six innings, taking the loss Friday versus the Rockies.

Bundy pitched well for the second start in a row, but the Twins' offense was limited to three hits and five walks without generating a run. The right-hander's lone run allowed came in the sixth inning on a Charlie Blackmon fielder's choice. Bundy continues to alternate a couple of good starts with a a couple of rough ones for an altogether inconsistent season. He has a 4.80 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 46:12 K:BB in 60 innings across 12 starts overall. He's projected for a road start in Cleveland next week.

Watkins is with the Orioles on the taxi squad and could be added to the active roster to start Saturday against the White Sox, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

The Orioles have an opening in the starting rotation Saturday after Kyle Bradish (shoulder) was placed on the injured list, and Watkins appear to be the primary candidate to fill the void. The 29-year-old was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk after being activated from the injured list June 8, and he allowed five runs over 7.2 innings during his time with the Tides. Assuming he starts Saturday, Watkins may need a strong performance in Chicago for it to be more than a single spot start.

Whitlock (hip) won't be activated from the 15-day injured list to start during the upcoming three-game series against the Blue Jays, which begins Monday, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

The 26-year-old threw a simulated game Tuesday, but his progress from the hip injury has slow over the past couple days. Whitlock hasn't suffered a setback, per Abraham, though manager Alex Cora said the right-hander "wasn't feeling good" or "moving well." Whitlock recently appeared to be on the cusp of his return from the injured list, but his outlook for the near future is now a bit more uncertain.

Lynch was placed on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to Thursday, with a blister on his left index finger, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.

Lynch presumably suffered the injury Wednesday against the Angels when he took the loss after giving up a run on three hits with five strikeouts and five walks over 4.2 innings. The left-hander will be eligible to return from the injured list July 8, though it remains unclear if he's expected to be ready to be activated at that time.

Greinke (elbow) was activated from the 15-day injured list ahead of his start against the Athletics on Friday, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.

The veteran right-hander has been sidelined nearly a month with a flexor strain in his right elbow, but he'll rejoin Kansas City's rotation Friday after making two rehab starts with Triple-A Omaha. Greinke threw 70 pitches over seven innings during his final rehab outing, so he could still face some final workload limitations in his first start back from the injured list.

Rasmussen (hamstring) will throw a sim game Saturday and could rejoin the Rays' rotation during their upcoming road trip in Toronto, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Rasmussen has been on the injured list since mid-June due to a left hamstring strain, but he's closing in on a return. The team is optimistic that the right-hander will be able to return without a rehab assignment, but he'll presumably be monitored following Saturday's sim game. The Rays haven't yet indicated which day Rasmussen is expected to pitch if he's ultimately cleared to return next weekend.
