The Angels recalled Kochanowicz from Triple-A Salt Lake ahead of his start Wednesday versus Texas.

After giving up 25 runs (22 earned) in 21.2 innings over his last five starts in the majors, Kochanowicz's ERA ballooned to 6.19 before being demoted to Salt Lake on Aug. 11. He'll match up against a Rangers offense Wednesday that put up eight runs against him in just 2.2 frames July 10 and has registered an .811 OPS over its last 10 games.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider said that Berrios won't make his next start until Tuesday in Cincinnati, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Berrios will have gone more than a week between starts, as he most recently took the hill in Miami this past Saturday, when he struck out eight batters and allowed two earned runs over 6.1 innings. The veteran right-hander doesn't seem to be dealing with an injury coming out of the start, but he'll be pushed to the back of the pitching schedule as the Blue Jays realign their rotation ahead of an important series this weekend against the NL-leading Brewers and next weekend against the Yankees, who sit four games behind Toronto in the AL East. The Blue Jays are now tentatively slated to have their top three members of the rotation -- Shane Bieber, Kevin Gausman and Max Scherzer -- make one start apiece in both of those series.

Orioles interim manager Tony Mansolino said Wednesday that Wells (elbow) will be activated from the 60-day injured list next week and will be part of a six-man rotation for the remainder of the season, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

Wells is slated to make his final rehab start with Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday, and as long as he gets through that outing without any setbacks, he'll likely start Sept. 2 in San Diego. Once activated, Wells will be making his first appearance at the big-league level since he had a UCL revision and internal brace augmentation surgery in June 2024. Wells has pitched well thus far on his rehab assignment, posting a 2.37 ERA and 19:5 K:BB over 19 innings.

The Orioles transferred Young (hamstring) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Wednesday.

The move to the 60-day IL spells an official end to Young's season. According to Jake Rill of MLB.com, Young said that he expects to face a six-week recovery from the left hamstring strain, which should allow him to have a normal offseason. In 12 starts with the big club as a rookie, the 27-year-old right-hander went 1-7 and submitted a 6.24 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 47:22 K:BB in 57.2 innings. Young should get the chance to compete for a spot in the Orioles' Opening Day rotation in 2026, but in light of his poor numbers in his first taste of the majors this season, he'll likely need a strong spring to secure a starting role with the big club.

Drohan (forearm), whom Triple-A Worcester reinstated from its 60-day injured list Tuesday, is slated to start or pitch in bulk relief Friday, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Top prospect Payton Tolle is also in line to pitch Friday, and Worcester plans to have him piggyback or get piggybacked by Drohan, who will be making his first appearance for the Triple-A affiliate since May 7 after he had been shut down due to left forearm inflammation. Prior to getting hurt, Drohan was enjoying a strong season out of the Worcester rotation, logging a 2.03 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 38:11 K:BB in 26.2 innings through seven appearances. The 26-year-old lefty could struggle to return to his prior form before season's end after he endured a bumpy three-start rehab assignment at High-A Greenville in which he gave up six earned runs to go with a 10:5 K:BB in 6.1 innings.

The Mariners recalled Hancock from Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday.

Hancock recently moved to the bullpen at Tacoma and his stuff played up, as he averaged 97 miles per hour with his four-seamer and topped out at 99.1 mph. The righty will likely be used in low-leverage situations initially but could be entrusted with late-inning appearances before long if he gets off to a good start.

Lopez (shoulder) struck out five and allowed three earned runs on six hits and no walks across four innings in his rehab start Tuesday with Triple-A St. Paul.

Making the second start of his rehab assignment with St. Paul, Lopez got stretched out to 68 pitches (46 strikes) and induced 12 swings and misses. He averaged 93.8 miles per hour with his fastball in the outing, about one tick behind his season average prior to landing on the shelf June 5 due to a right teres major muscle strain. The Twins will likely have Lopez get further stretched in one more rehab start before he potentially returns from the 60-day injured list during the team's series in Kansas City that begins Sept. 5.

Manoah (elbow) worked 5.1 innings in a rehab start for Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday, striking out five and allowing three unearned runs on six hits and two walks.

The 27-year-old right-hander tossed 50 of 85 pitches for strikes, so at least in terms of workload, Manoah appears ready to come off the 60-day injured list. Over three starts for Buffalo, however, his 3.09 ERA in 11.2 innings isn't supported by his 1.61 WHIP and 10:7 K:BB. The Blue Jays don't have room in their rotation for Manoah even if he were pitching well, so if he does get activated and added to the big-league roster, he would likely be returning to a low-leverage, long-relief role.

The Twins activated Woods Richardson (illness) from the 15-day injured list Wednesday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Woods Richardson will rejoin the Twins and will start Wednesday's game in Toronto after missing much of August while recovering from a procedure to remove a parasite from his digestive tract. The righty went 3.1 innings and threw 64 pitches in his second of two rehab starts with Triple-A St. Paul this past Thursday, so his workload could be relatively limited Wednesday.

Perez tossed seven scoreless innings in Tuesday's defeat to the Royals, allowing just one hit and no walks while striking out five in seven innings. He did not factor into the decision.

Perez was brilliant, allowing just a lone base hit to Bobby Witt in the fourth. He exited with a 4-0 lead after seven strong innings and that lead wound up being squandered by the bullpen, leaving Perez without the win. Perez has now allowed just one earned run in 15.2 innings since returning from the injured list Aug. 13 and he's down to a 2.02 ERA and 0.95 WHIP for the season. Perez lines up to complete a two-start week this weekend against the Yankees.
