Eduardo Rodriguez SP | ARI
Tigers' Eduardo Rodriguez: Tagged for five runs
Rodriguez (11-9) allowed five runs on five hits and a walk while striking out one over three innings to take the loss Monday versus the Dodgers.
Rodriguez endured his shortest start of the season, and this was just the third time he's given up five or more runs. J.D. Martinez did most of the damage with a solo home run in the second inning and a three-run blast one frame later. Rodriguez's ERA jumped to 3.57 with a 1.17 WHIP and 133:43 K:BB through 138.2 innings over 24 starts this year. He's lined up for a more favorable road start in Oakland over the weekend.

JP Sears SP | SD
Athletics' JP Sears: Yields four runs in loss
Sears (5-12) allowed four runs on six hits and four walks while striking out six over 5.2 innings to take the loss Monday versus the Mariners.
Sears had allowed a total of three runs over 17 innings across his first three starts in September, all of which were wins. He wasn't able to continue his success Monday, with Jose Caballero's two-run home run in the fourth inning being the biggest hit off Sears. The Oakland lefty is now at a 4.52 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 150:49 K:BB through 163.1 innings over 30 starts. He's lined up for a more favorable home start versus the Tigers over the weekend.

Bryan Woo SP | SEA
Mariners' Bryan Woo: Walks four in win
Woo (4-4) allowed three hits and four walks while striking out six over five shutout innings to earn the win Monday over the Athletics.
While Woo's four walks were a season high, he was able to turn in his third scoreless outing in his last four starts. Two of those efforts have been against Oakland, so there is somewhat of a caveat for the quality of the opponent, but it's still encouraging to see the rookie find a groove late in the year. Woo is at a 3.90 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 82:26 K:BB through 80.2 innings over 16 starts. He is projected to make his next start on the road versus the Rangers this weekend.

Mike Clevinger RP | PIT
White Sox's Mike Clevinger: Tosses complete game
Clevinger (8-8) allowed one run on six hits over nine innings Monday, striking out seven and earning a victory over Washington.
Clevinger was one out away from a shutout but served up a solo shot to Dominic Smith. Since getting tagged with eight runs by the Tigers on Sep. 2, Clevinger has allowed just two runs over his last 22 innings. He's recorded a 21:0 K:BB while lowering his season ERA from 3.90 to 3.42 during that span. Clevinger is currently projected to start in Boston this weekend.

Joe Ryan SP | MIN
Twins' Joe Ryan: Struggles in loss
Ryan (10-10) took the loss Monday against the Reds, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out five.
Ryan pitched Monday in what was easily his worst start of five since returning from a groin injury Aug. 26. He struggled a bit with his command as the three walks issued matched his season high. The 27-year-old has pitched to a 4.30 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 181:33 K:BB over 150.2 innings. Ryan looks to return to form in his next start, scheduled to be against the Angels at home.

Wilmer Flores SP | DET
Tigers' Wilmer Flores: Back from IL
Flores (hamstring) allowed two runs on six hits while striking out seven over 5.0 innings in his last start Saturday against Double-A Richmond.
Flores spent time on the 7-day IL while recovering from a hamstring injury, but he's been cleared to return to action. He owns a 4.65 ERA and 1.31 WHIP with a 90:32 K:BB across 89 innings in the minors so far this season.

Brady Singer SP | CIN
Royals' Brady Singer: Roughed up again
Singer did not factor into the decision in Monday's win over Cleveland, allowing four runs on eight hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out four.
Singer's start on Monday marked the fifth straight in which he allowed four or more runs, dating back to Aug. 19. During those outings, the 27-year-old has thrown 24 innings to the tune of a 9.00 ERA, 2.17 WHIP and 17:8 K:BB. The nightmare season has continued for Singer, who sports a 5.52 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 133 strikeouts over 159.2 innings. Things don't get easier for his next start, as he's scheduled to pitch at Houston.

Cal Quantrill RP | TEX
Guardians' Cal Quantrill: Solid in no-decision
Quantrill did not factor into the decision Monday against the Royals after allowing two runs on five hits and no walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out three.
Quantrill's outing on Monday was his fourth consecutive start allowing two runs or fewer, dating back to Sept. 1. Over that span, he has thrown 23.2 innings with a 1.90 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 13:8 K:BB. Quantrill looks to keep the quality work going in his next start scheduled at home against Baltimore this weekend.

Tanner Bibee SP | CLE
Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Done for season with hip injury
Bibee was placed on the 15-day injured list Monday with right hip inflammation, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.
Bibee suffered the injury during his most recent start over the weekend against the Rangers and will be shut down for the season. The right-hander turned in an outstanding rookie campaign, posting a 2.98 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 141:45 K:BB through 142 innings. The Guardians have yet to announce who will take Bibee's spot in the rotation, but both Shane Bieber (elbow) and Triston McKenzie (elbow) are tracking toward returns from the 60-day injured list either this week or next.

Frankie Montas RP | NYM
Yankees' Frankie Montas: Goes one inning in rehab start
Montas (shoulder) struck out two and yielded one run on one hit and one walk over one inning in his first rehab start with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday.
In his first appearance at any level this season, Montas threw 17 pitches while averaging 95.2 miles per hour with his fastball. The veteran right-hander is working his way back from arthroscopic shoulder surgery, which he underwent in late February. While Montas won't have time to get stretched out for a starting role and still looks like a long shot to make his 2023 Yankees debut, manager Aaron Boone said Sunday that the 30-year-old hasn't been ruled out from being activated from the 60-day injured list during the final week of the season, per MLB.com. Montas is set to become a free agent this winter and may want to prove to the Yankees and other potential suitors that he's back to full health.
