Olson tossed 5.2 scoreless innings but did not factor into the decision in Monday's 10-inning win over the Mets. He allowed three hits and two walks, while striking out three.

Olson was sharp across his 93 pitches but so was New York starter Sean Manaea, and the two teams entered extra innings tied 0-0 before Detroit exploded for five runs. Despite not picking up a win it's still a promising 2024 debut for Olson, who had some nice moments as a rookie last year, compiling a 3.99 ERA and 1.12 WHIP across 21 appearances (18 starts). The righty appears to be locked into a rotation spot and has a favorable matchup in his next scheduled start, which is tentatively set for Sunday against the Athletics.

Kremer did not factor into the decision Monday against the Royals, allowing three runs on three hits and one walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out five.

Kremer showed in spring training that he might have more strikeout upside as he enters his fifth season with his 16 punchouts in 16 innings. That possibility came to fruition Monday as the 28-year-old collected five strikeouts despite his average fastball velocity being down 1.1-mph compared to last season (it averaged 93.5-mph against the Royals). Kremer allowed his three runs Monday via homers to Salvador Perez and Bobby Witt but otherwise held the Kansas City lineup in check. He is currently scheduled to pitch against the Pirates on the road in his next start.

Wacha did not factor into the decision Monday against the Orioles, allowing three runs on three hits and one walk over five innings. He struck out five.

Wacha drew a tough matchup in his Royals debut as he had to face a difficult Orioles lineup in Baltimore. He was pitching well until the fourth inning, when the Orioles managed to collect three runs on three hits, including a 408-foot Ryan Mountcastle two-run homer. Outside of the fourth inning, Wacha fared well Monday, relying heavily on his patented changeup (30.6 percent usage rate), generating seven whiffs with the pitch. The 32-year-old righty is tentatively scheduled to face the White Sox at home in his next start.

Woo (elbow) has begun a throwing program, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports.

Woo was shut down for a little over a week with right elbow inflammation but is ready to get built back up. It shouldn't take too terribly long for that to happen since he was fully stretched out by late March, but the Mariners won't establish a timetable for Woo's return until he makes further strides.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Monday that Manoah (shoulder) will pitch a three-inning simulated game with minor leaguers Tuesday, Kaitlyn McGrath of The Athletic reports.

After one spring training outing in late February, Manoah was restricted to bullpen sessions and live batting practices due to right shoulder soreness. The right-hander managed to throw 34 pitches over two innings in a simulated game Wednesday, and he'll up that to three innings for Tuesday's session. Manoah is looking to bounce back from a rough 2023 season in which he registered a 5.87 ERA, 1.74 WHIP and 79:59 K:BB over 87.1 innings while going 3-9 over 19 starts.

Garcia (elbow) threw a 15-pitch bullpen session Monday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Astros manager Joe Espada proclaimed Garcia ahead of schedule after the session. While certainly good to hear, the right-hander will still almost surely be sidelined at least until around midseason while recovering from last May's Tommy John surgery.

The Mariners signed Tabor to a minor-league deal Monday, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.

Tabor has been out of action over the past two years due to a blood clot removal and Tommy John surgery. His last full season was in 2021 when he managed to climb up to Triple-A Reno, posting a 3.88 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 26:15 K:BB over 51 innings while going 1-4 over eight starts with the Aces.

Verlander (shoulder) threw a three-inning, 52-pitch simulated game Monday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Verlander came out of the session without any issues. Although nothing definitive has been determined yet, his next step is expected to be beginning a rehab assignment. The 41-year-old figures to require at least a couple rehab starts before rejoining the Astros' rotation. Verlander has been working his way back from a right shoulder problem.

Means (forearm) was roughed up for seven runs over one-plus inning Sunday in his first rehab start with Triple-A Norfolk.

Means surrendered a pair of home runs among six hits and walked one batter. He threw 32 pitches, induced three whiffs and averaged 90.8 mph on his four-seamer, which was 0.9 mph lower than a season ago. Clearly, it's not the kind of performance Means was looking for as a ramps up for a return to the Orioles' rotation, but it will become worrisome only if it continues in subsequent rehab outings. He'll need a handful of rehab starts before returning potentially in late April.

Miller (0-1) allowed four runs on six hits and two walks Sunday, striking out six and taking a loss against Boston.

All the damage against Miller came via the long ball, with Tyler O'Neill knocking a solo homer in the second inning and Enmanuel Valdez breaking the game open with a three-run blast in the fourth. As a rookie last season, Miller gave up multiple home runs in five of his 25 starts. On the bright side, the 25-year-old's stuff looked solid; Miller got 16 whiffs on 42 swings, including six on just 10 swings against his splitter. He's currently expected to take the mound in Milwaukee this weekend.
