  • Diamondbacks' Sean Reid-Foley: Joins Arizona on MiLB deal

Reid-Foley agreed to a minor-league contract with the Diamondbacks on Friday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

The right-hander parted ways with the Mets last week and will now test his luck with the Diamondbacks. Reid-Foley struggled in his 15 outings at the Triple-A level this season with an 8.36 ERA, 2.43 WHIP and 24:14 K:BB over 14 innings.

  • Albert Suarez RP | BAL

Orioles' Albert Suarez: Extends throwing distance

Suarez (shoulder) extended his throwing distance off flat ground to 105 feet Friday, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Suarez started up his throwing program earlier in May and is now extending his distance, and he could progress to bullpen sessions in the near future. The right-hander landed on the shelf with a shoulder strain after his season debut March 28, and he'll likely require multiple rehab appearances in the minors once cleared for game action.

  • Brewers' Carlos Rodriguez: Undergoing tests on forearm

Rodriguez is undergoing tests for forearm discomfort after leaving his start for Triple-A Nashville early Thursday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

This is an ominous sign for Rodriguez, who was making his first appearance Thursday after saving the MLB staff by coming back in to pitch after nearly a two-hour rain delay May 22.

  • Nick Burdi RP | NYM

Red Sox's Nick Burdi: Rejoins MLB club

The Red Sox recalled Burdi from Triple-A Worcester on Friday, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

The right-hander will join the Red Sox ahead of Friday's series opener in Atlanta with Liam Hendriks (hip) headed to the injured list. Burdi has allowed four hits over 2.1 scoreless frames in his two big-league appearances this season and should fill a low-leverage relief role while up with Boston.

  • Liam Hendriks RP | MIN

Red Sox's Liam Hendriks: To IL with hip injury

Hendriks was placed on the 15-day injured list Friday with right hip inflammation, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

Hendriks has reportedly been pitching through this issue in recent weeks while logging a 19.64 ERA and 2.18 WHIP over his last five appearances. The move is retroactive to May 28, so Hendriks will be eligible to return June 13 against the Yankees.

  • Mets' Brandon Waddell: Returns to Triple-A

The Mets optioned Waddell to Triple-A Syracuse on Friday.

The left-hander allowed four runs over five relief innings Wednesday against the White Sox, and he'll head to the minors in favor of a fresh bullpen arm. Waddell has a 3.86 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 7:1 K:BB in his two big-league appearances this season.

  • Chris Devenski RP | PIT

    Mets' Chris Devenski: Promoted Friday

The Mets recalled Devenski from Triple-A Syracuse on Friday.

The veteran right-hander was up with the Mets for one day earlier in the season and is now back in the majors. Devenski gave up two runs over two frames in his lone outing but has a 1.96 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 13:4 K:BB over 18.1 innings for Syracuse this year.

  • Lucas Erceg RP | KC

Royals' Lucas Erceg: To IL with back injury

Erceg was placed on the 15-day injured list Friday with a lower-back strain.

The most recent news was that Erceg was unavailable due to illness, but this back issue is likely the main reason he hasn't pitched since May 24. His IL placement is retroactive to May 27, so he could return June 12 against the Yankees if he misses the minimum amount of time.

  • Luis Patino RP | SD

Padres' Luis Patino: Activated from minor-league IL

Patino (elbow) was activated off the minor-league injured list and transferred to Double-A San Antonio on Thursday, per MadFriars.

Patino re-signed with San Diego on a minor-league deal in January and began a rehab assignment in early May. The right-hander appeared in four contests with Single-A Lake Elsinore, allowing four runs (two earned) on seven hits over nine innings while posting an 8:5 K:BB. Patino is scheduled to make his first start with San Antonio on Friday.

  • Brett de Geus RP | PHI

Phillies' Brett de Geus: Returns to Triple-A

The Phillies optioned de Geus to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday.

The right-hander was called up as the 27th man for Thursday's doubleheader and allowed a run over two innings against Atlanta in his first MLB outing of the season. De Geus will now return to Lehigh Valley, where he has a 0.95 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 14:7 K:BB across 19 innings.
