  • Diamondbacks' Juan Burgos: Promoted to big leagues

Burgos was recalled from Triple-A Reno prior to Monday's game against the Cubs. Burgos was sent down in late July and didn't show much improvement while pitching for Reno, accruing a 10.80 ERA and 2.04 WHIP with nine strikeouts over 8.1 innings. However, Arizona is in need of a fresh arm after optioning Mitch Bratt, opening up a roster spot for Burgos.

  • Diamondbacks' Juan Burgos: Dispatched to Reno

The Diamondbacks optioned Burgos to Triple-A Reno on Tuesday. Burgos threw 1.1 scoreless innings after coming up from Reno on Monday, but he'll now head back to the minors in order to make room for Kohl Drake, who was recalled to start Tuesday's game against St. Louis. Burgos has now given up one run in 2.2 MLB innings this season, but his 5.88 ERA in the minors will likely limit the number of opportunities he receives with the big club.

  • Diamondbacks' Juan Burgos: Added to big-league bullpen

The Diamondbacks recalled Burgos from Triple-A Reno on Monday. Burgos can provide multiple innings for an overused Arizona bullpen. The 26-year-old allowed one run in 1.1 innings in his lone appearance for the Diamondbacks earlier this season, and he's posted a 5.88 ERA and 23:15 K:BB over 33.2 frames with Reno.

  • Diamondbacks' Juan Burgos: Expected to be called up Monday

Burgos is expected to be called up from Triple-A Reno on Monday, John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM reports. Burgos will join the Diamondbacks' major-league roster ahead of the team's three-game series at home versus the Athletics beginning Monday. The right-handed pitcher has appeared in one contest with Arizona so far this season, giving up one run on two hits over 1.1 innings against the Rays on June 26. In order to make room for Burgos with the big-league club, southpaw Philip Abner is expected to be optioned to Triple-A Reno in a corresponding move.

  • Diamondbacks' Juan Burgos: Coming up from Triple-A

The Diamondbacks will recall Burgos from Triple-A Reno before Thursday's contest in St. Louis, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports. He'll provide a fresh bullpen arm after the Diamondbacks' relievers were needed for six innings in Wednesday's win over the Cardinals. Burgos has struggled this season at Reno, collecting a 6.59 ERA and 19:13 K:BB over 28.2 innings.

  • Diamondbacks' Juan Burgos: On MLB injured list

The Diamondbacks voided Burgos' Sept. 2 option to Triple-A Reno on Friday and placed him on the 15-day injured list with a right forearm contusion, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports. Burgos suffered the injury during his appearance against the Rangers on Sept. 1. He'll be eligible to return from the injured list whenever he's fully healthy, but there's currently no telling when that may be. Once activated, he may take on a low-leverage role in Arizona's bullpen after posting a 6.08 ERA and 1.88 WHIP in 13.1 innings with the D-backs.

  • Diamondbacks' Juan Burgos: Suffers forearm injury

Burgos suffered a right forearm contusion in Monday's 7-5 extra-inning loss to the Rangers, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports. Burgos was struck in the right arm by a 108.6 mph line drive off the bat of Alejandro Osuna with two outs in the top of the ninth inning, ultimately exiting the game as a result. The right-hander underwent X-rays, which came back negative, but he will undergo additional testing Tuesday.

  • Diamondbacks' Juan Burgos: Dealt to Arizona

The Diamondbacks acquired Burgos, first baseman Tyler Locklear and right-hander Hunter Cranton from the Mariners on Wednesday in exchange for third baseman Eugenio Suarez, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports. Burgos has appeared in four games for the Mariners this season while allowing three earned runs over 6.2 frames and striking out eight batters in the process. He was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma last week but still owns a 40-man roster spot, making him a prime candidate to join the Diamondbacks' injury-depleted bullpen at some point once the big club needs a fresh arm.

  • Mariners' Juan Burgos: Sent down to Triple-A

The Mariners optioned Burgos to Triple-A Tacoma on Monday. Burgos did a fine job in his first four major-league relief appearances, yielding three runs with an 8:2 K:BB over 6.2 innings. His spot on the 26-man active roster and in the bullpen is being absorbed by lefty Brandyn Garcia, who was called up from Tacoma.
