Hader picked up the save in Friday's 3-2 victory over the White Sox. He allowed one run on one hit and one walk over one inning without recording a strikeout.

It was far from a clean outing for Hader, who allowed a solo homer to Carlos Perez to lead off the inning, then gave up a walk and hit a batter prior to inducing Yoan Moncada to ground into a game-ending double play. Friday's appearance marks only the sixth time in 60 appearances that Hader has allowed an earned run this season, leading to a 1.30 ERA, 1.12 ERA and 84 strikeouts over 55.1 innings.

Daniel (1-1) picked up his first big-league win in Friday's 5-1 victory over Oakland, yielded two hits and a walk over five shutout innings out of the bullpen.

Daniel finished the game after starter Chase Silseth allowed one run through four frames. The rookie right-hander threw 47 of 61 pitches for strikes and worked around the only threat he faced in the ninth inning. Since being promoted to the big leagues earlier this month, the 26-year-old made three extended relief appearances for the Angels, registering a 2.19 ERA and 1.30 WHIP across 12.1 frames.

Silseth allowed one run on two hits and three walks over four innings Friday in the Angels' win over Oakland. He struck out three and did not factor in the decision.

Silseth returned from the injured list Friday to make his first appearance since Aug. 26. The lone damage against him came on Brent Rooker's RBI double in the third inning. Silseth posted a 3.96 ERA with a 56:26 K:BB through 52.1 MLB innings this season. In seven appearances since the All-Star break, he registered a 3.21 ERA.

Martinez (6-4) earned the win Friday, allowing two hits and two walks over five scoreless innings against the White Sox. He struck out eight.

It was his longest outing since April 19, and the right-hander retired 11 straight batters at one point to help keep the White Sox at bay. The versatile Martinez contributed 110.1 quality innings for the Padres this season, starting nine of his 63 appearances while compiling six wins, 15 holds and one save with a 3.43 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 106 strikeouts.

Scott picked up the save in Friday's 4-3 victory over the Pirates, tossing one scoreless inning without a walk or strikeout.

Scott needed only nine pitches to retire three Pirates batters in order for his 11th save. The lefty reliever has excelled in the Marlins' closer role, and Scott owns a 1.80 ERA, 0.73 WHIP and 17:1 K:BB with eight saves over 15 innings in September.

Pagan will start Saturday's game in Colorado after earning a save in Friday's 7-6 win over the Rockies, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

After needing just nine pitches in an easy bottom of the ninth inning Friday to earn his first save of the season, Pagan will now turn right back around to make his first career start a day later. The 32-year-old right-hander will probably only be asked to cover the first inning Saturday for the AL Central-champion Twins. Chris Paddack and Dallas Keuchel are available on three and two days' rest, respectively, and could be capable of covering multiple innings behind Pagan.

Woodford (2-3) took the loss Friday after yielding seven runs on six hits and a walk over 1.2 innings in a 19-2 loss to the Reds. He failed to strike out a batter.

Woodford gave up three home runs before being chased from the game. He returned from the injured list earlier this month and allowed just one run over 6.1 frames in two appearances before Friday's misstep. Woodford finishes the 2023 season with an unsightly 6.23 ERA and 29:22 K:BB through 47.2 innings.

Chargois will serve as the Marlins' opening pitcher in Saturday's game at Pittsburgh, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Chargois will be working as an opener for the fifth time this season and is likely to cover just one or two innings before giving way to a parade of relievers. Through 40.2 innings in the big leagues this season, Chargois has registered a 3.76 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 33:17 K:BB.

Manager Alex Cora announced Friday that Jansen will not pitch again this season, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Jansen was activated off the COVID-19 injured list last weekend, but he hasn't made an appearance since Sept. 12 and the Red Sox don't have a reason to push him out there in their final two regular-season games. The veteran closer is due a $16 million salary from Boston in 2024.

Winn was activated from the COVID-19 injured list ahead of his start Friday versus the Dodgers, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

After clearing health and safety protocols, Winn will look to finish his rookie campaign on a high note Friday at Oracle Park in San Francisco. The 25-year-old right-hander holds a 3.89 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 30:8 K:BB through his first 37 major-league innings.
