The Dodgers designated Ramirez for assignment Thursday.

Hewill end up as the Dodgers' roster casualty following the return of Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) from the 60-day IL, marking the fourth time Ramirez has been DFA'd this season. The 29-year-old righty owns a career-worst 5.98 ERA and 1.44 WHIP through 43.2 innings on the year, though he still may draw interest on the waiver wire from other teams in need of immediate bullpen help.

Francis is likely to be called up from Triple-A Buffalo to start one game of Monday's doubleheader versus the Orioles, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Yariel Rodriguez is tentatively lined up to pitch the other game Monday. Francis has tossed nine scoreless innings with a 13:1 K:BB in two starts since being optioned to Buffalo on July 14 and would be available on four days' rest Monday. Francis has been less effective during his time in the majors this season with a 5.82 ERA covering three starts and 13 relief outings.

Crouse (4-0) earned the win over Seattle on Wednesday, allowing one hit and striking out two batters over one scoreless inning.

Crouse entered with the Mariners up 1-0 in the bottom of the seventh inning and threw 12 of his 15 pitches for strikes in a scoreless frame. The Angels then scored twice in the top of the eighth, putting the right-hander in line for the victory. Prior to his call-up June 21, Crouse last pitched in the majors during 2021, and he had struggled with injuries over his past two seasons. However, he's done well with Los Angeles, posting a 1.76 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 19:8 K:BB while compiling four wins over 15 appearances covering 15.1 frames.

The Rangers optioned Garabito to Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday.

He made one appearance during his most recent stint with the big club, throwing a scoreless inning of relief in Wednesday's win over the White Sox. Garabito will move back to Round Rock to make room on the active roster for Dane Dunning (shoulder), who was reinstated from the injured list.

Burdi (hip) will report to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Thursday to begin a rehab assignment.

Considering that Burdi has been on the shelf since late May with right hip inflammation, he'll likely require at least a handful of appearances in the minors before returning from the 60-day injured list. Prior to being deactivated, Burdi made 12 appearances out of the Yankees bullpen, giving up two earned runs on five hits and nine walks while striking out 12 over 9.2 innings. He'll handle a low-leverage relief role once the Yankees activate him.

Pearson (illness) gave up an earned run on one hit and one walk over one inning out of the bullpen in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Rays.

Pearson made his first appearance of the second half Tuesday after he had been unavailable out of the bullpen for the Blue Jays' series with the Tigers this past weekend while he was battling an illness. Though the right-hander yielded a run in his return to action, he looked to be at close to full strength while pumping in 13 of his 20 pitches for strikes Tuesday.

McArthur (4-4) allowed five runs on four hits and a walk while striking out one over one inning, taking the loss and a blown save Wednesday versus the Diamondbacks.

McArthur had been better of late, allowing just two runs (one earned) over his previous 12 innings, but it was a full meltdown for the right-hander in Wednesday's contest. He blew a one-run lead on a Gabriel Moreno two-run double and then surrendered a three-run home run to Ketel Marte. McArthur is now 17-for-22 in save chances this year with a 4.91 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 33:9 K:BB through 40.1 innings. He's hardly been convincing throughout the campaign, though the Royals previously lacked better options to replace him in the ninth inning. That may change going forward with Hunter Harvey on the roster, though Harvey was used in the eighth inning Wednesday and could remain in a setup role he's filled all year both with Washington and Kansas City.

Harvey walked one and hit a batter in a scoreless and hitless inning to earn a hold in Wednesday's 8-6 loss to the Diamondbacks.

While the Royals failed to hold the lead, it wasn't Harvey's fault, as he protected a one-run advantage in the eighth inning. Harvey is in a high-leverage role following his trade from the Nationals, though he has yet to differentiate himself from the other middling late-inning options on Kansas City's roster. For the year, he has a 4.21 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 52:14 K:BB with no saves, 27 holds and two blown saves through 47 innings. James McArthur has functioned as the Royals' closer this year, but his continued struggles since May leave him on shaky ground, potentially opening the door for Harvey or other relievers like Chris Stratton, John Schreiber and Sam Long to get looks for saves as long as the team remains in the playoff hunt.

Adam (4-2) allowed four earned runs (two earned) on two walks and two hits while striking out one to take the loss Wednesday against the Blue Jays.

Adam entered the game in the eighth inning with the score tied at 2-2. He retired two of the first three batters he faced but let the next three hitters reach, all of whom came around to score on a pair of fielding miscues by the Rays. Adam has allowed five earned runs across his last three innings, but he still has an excellent 2.54 ERA and 0.91 WHIP across 46 frames on the campaign.

Gilbreath (elbow) allowed two runs (one earned) on one hit and one walk while striking out two across one inning in an Arizona Complex League game Tuesday.

Gilbreath is nearing a return from the Tommy John surgery he underwent in March 2023, and Tuesday's outing marked his first game action since late 2022. His time in the ACL is expected to be brief before his rehab assignment is shifted to the upper minors.
