  • Blue Jays' Yerry Rodriguez: Moves up from Triple-A

The Blue Jays recalled Rodriguez from Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday.

Just a day after being optioned to Triple-A, Rodriguez will now return to the Blue Jays to opening on the roster that was created when reliever Trevor Richards was traded to Minnesota on Tuesday. Rodriguez has posted a 7.71 ERA and 1.71 WHIP through 18.2 innings in the majors this season and will likely be limited to low-leverage appearances out of the Toronto bullpen.

  • Miguel Castro RP | CHW

Diamondbacks' Miguel Castro: Dropped from 40-man roster

Castro was designated for assignment by the Diamondbacks on Tuesday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Castro appears to be the odd man out in the bullpen after Arizona acquired right-hander Dylan Floro from the Nationals on Tuesday. Castro will now be placed on waivers, and if he goes unclaimed, he'll either report to Triple-A Reno or elect free agency.

  • Trey Wingenter RP | CHC

Red Sox's Trey Wingenter: DFA'd by Boston

The Red Sox designated Wingenter for assignment Tuesday, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

The right-hander was recalled from Triple-A Worcester on Monday but didn't stick on the big-league roster for long. Wingenter has given up seven earned runs over 2.1 frames in his two appearances for Boston this season.

  • Ethan Roberts RP | CHC

Cubs' Ethan Roberts: Back in majors

The Cubs recalled Roberts from Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

The Cubs traded Mark Leiter to the Yankees on Tuesday, so Roberts will now come up from the minors to fill the open spot in Chicago's bullpen. The 27-year-old hasn't allowed a run in six MLB innings this season, though he has surrendered three earned runs in three frames since returning to Triple-A earlier this month.

  • Yoendrys Gomez RP | MIN

Yankees' Yoendrys Gomez: Sent to Triple-A

The Yankees optioned Gomez to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday.

Gomez was able to get through his two-inning appearance Monday without giving up a run, bringing his ERA down to 3.97 through 11.1 frames in the majors. He'll now return to Triple-A following the acquisition of Mark Leiter from the Cubs, though Gomez could still return to New York later in the year should the Yankees need a fresh bullpen arm.

  • Pirates' Carmen Mlodzinski: Out with shoulder strain

Mlodzinksi was placed on the 15-day injured list Tuesday due to a right shoulder strain, Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

The right-hander presumably suffered the injury in his appearance against the Astros on Monday, during which he allowed a hit and a walk over a scoreless inning. Mlodzinski will be eligible to be reinstated in mid-August, though it's unclear if he's expected to be healthy by that point.

  • Jesus Tinoco RP | MIA

Marlins' Jesus Tinoco: Claimed by Marlins

The Marlins claimed Tinoco off waivers from the Cubs on Tuesday.

After being DFA'd by the Cubs on Saturday, Tinoco will join a Marlins bullpen in need of extra depth following Tuesday's trade deadline. The 29-year-old righty has allowed nine earned runs in 14 innings in the majors this season, though he did not allow a run in four frames during his time with the Cubs. Braxton Garrett (forearm) was moved to the 60-day IL to clear space on the 40-man roster.

  • Yankees' Enyel De Los Santos: Acquired by Yankees

The Yankees acquired De Los Santos and right-hander Thomas Balboni from the Padres in exchange for outfielder Brandon Lockridge on Tuesday.

De Los Santos had a 4.46 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 48:13 K:BB over 40.1 innings for the Padres this season, but he was expendable with the club adding major bullpen pieces at the deadline. The right-handed journeyman had a 3.18 ERA in 120 outings for the Guardians across the previous two seasons, and he's likely to work in middle relief for the Yankees.

  • Gregory Soto RP | PIT

Orioles' Gregory Soto: Shipped to Baltimore

The Phillies traded Soto to the Orioles on Tuesday in exchange for Seth Johnson, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Soto owns a 4.08 ERA and 1.58 WHIP through 35.1 innings with the Phillies this season. He's capable of handling high-leverage situations, recording two saves and seven holds on the year, though he'll most likely handle middle relief while with the O's.

  • Joel Kuhnel RP | SF

Rays' Joel Kuhnel: Recalled after deadline

The Rays recalled Kuhnel from Triple-A Durham on Tuesday.

Kuhnel was claimed by the Rays off waivers from the Brewers on July 23. The 29-year-old made two appearances for Durham, allowing three runs across two innings. The right-hander finds himself in the bigs as a replacement for Shawn Armstrong, who was acquired by the Cardinals from the Rays before Tuesday's trade deadline.
