The Red Sox optioned Winckowski to Triple-A Worcester on Monday, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Winckowski tossed a scoreless inning Monday versus the Blue Jays in the resumption of a game that was previously suspended June 26, but he'll be send down to the minors ahead of Monday's regularly scheduled contest. Justin Slaten (elbow) was reinstated from the injured list to take Winckowski's spot on the active roster.

The Red Sox activated Slaten (elbow) from the 15-day injured list Monday, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Slaten has been shelved since just before the All-Star break with right elbow inflammation, but he's been cleared to return after allowing one run while retiring one batter in his lone rehab appearance. The righty has been an excellent find for the Red Sox as a Rule 5 pick, having collected a 3.38 ERA and 45:9 K:BB over 42.2 frames.

The Marlins optioned de Geus to Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday.

De Geus appeared in seven games after being called up by Miami on Aug. 9, giving up five runs (four earned) on seven hits and two walks while striking out four across 5.2 innings. The reliever will head back to the minors to clear a spot in the bullpen and on the 26-man active roster for right-hander Mike Baumann, whom the Marlins claimed off waivers from the Angels on Sunday.

Kelly will serve as the Red Sox's opening pitcher for Monday's game against the Blue Jays, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Over his 48 appearances between Boston and Triple-A Worcester this season, Kelly hasn't covered more than three innings on any occasion, and he hasn't recorded more than three outs in any outing since July 22. As such, Kelly shouldn't be expected to work more than once through the batting order before exiting the contest. Cooper Criswell is available on four days' rest and Brad Keller is available on two days' rest as potential bulk-relief options behind Kelly.

The Yankees transferred Hamilton (lat) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday.

The transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for waiver pickup Duke Ellis. Hamilton's timetable remains unaffected, as he's already missed more than 60 days with a right lat strain. The reliever began a rehab assignment with Double-A Somerset over the weekend, striking out the side in a perfect inning in his lone appearance. He could be back from the IL when rosters expand Sunday, if not sooner.

The Rockies recalled Bird from Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday.

Bird will give the Rockies a fresh arm as they begin a homestand. The 28-year-old has managed a 6.12 ERA and 17:18 K:BB across 25 frames in the majors this season.

The Rockies optioned Lambert to Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday.

Lambert has been used mostly as a multi-inning reliever for the Rockies this season and it hasn't gone well, as he holds a 5.72 ERA and 50:29 K:BB over 61.1 innings. Jake Bird was called up from Triple-A to replace Lambert in the bullpen.

The Rockies placed Gilbreath on the 15-day injured list Monday with left shoulder inflammation.

The injury is the same one which sidelined Gilbreath earlier this season while he was rehabbing from Tommy John surgery. He was tagged for six runs over one inning of relief covering three appearances with the Rockies after being activated from the IL earlier this month. It's not clear how long he'll be out this time around.

Pressly (back) threw a live batting practice session Monday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Everything seemed to go fine for the veteran reliever. Pressly is not expected to need a rehab assignment and is eligible for activation Thursday, so Monday's live BP session was likely the final hurdle he needed to clear before he's deemed fit to return. He's been out since mid-August with a lower-back strain.

The White Sox recalled Peralta's contract from Triple-A Charlotte on Monday.

Chicago optioned starter Ky Bush to Triple-A to open up a spot on the active roster for Peralta, who will give the White Sox a fresh arm out of the bullpen. Peralta has previously made seven appearances for Chicago this season, giving up six earned runs on 16 hits and six walks over 10.2 innings.
