Royals' Lucas Erceg: Blows save against Yankees
Erceg (3-2) suffered a blown save and took the loss Monday against the Yankees, allowing two runs on four hits and no walks with zero strikeouts in one inning.
Erceg entered in the top of the ninth to protect a 3-2 lead. He got Cody Bellinger to ground out to lead off the inning but then allowed four straight hits to suffer his fourth blown save of the season. The right-hander has now had back-to-back miserable outings after allowing three runs on four hits Sunday against the Mariners. With the two bad outings, Erceg's ERA has ballooned from 3.26 to 5.06 with an 18:13 K:BB across 21.1 innings in 2026.

Red Sox's Jedixson Paez: Tosses three scoreless frames
Paez (hip) struck out four across three scoreless innings during Saturday's game against Double-A Reading.
Paez received some time to recover after experiencing soreness in his right hip, but he was cleared to toe the rubber Saturday and looked sharp. He owns a 4.22 ERA and 0.75 WHIP with a 10:1 K:BB across 10.2 innings so far this season while pitching for Double-A Portland.

Craig Kimbrel RP | TB
Craig Kimbrel: Heads to free agency
Kimbrel elected free agency Monday.
Kimbrel was designated for assignment by the Mets on Friday and was then sent outright to Triple-A. However, instead of accepting an assignment to the minors, the veteran right-hander will choose to search for a big-league opportunity elsewhere.

Braydon Fisher RP | TOR
Blue Jays' Braydon Fisher: Working as opener Tuesday
Fisher will serve as the opener for Tuesday's game against the Marlins, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.
Fisher will step into the opener role for a third time this season. He'll work the first inning or so before handing the ball to a bulk reliever, presumably Spencer Miles.

Alimber Santa RP | HOU
Astros' Alimber Santa: Secures combined no-hitter in debut
Santa threw two perfect innings while striking out one in Monday's 9-0 win over the Rangers.
Following Tatsuya Imai and Steven Okert, Santa's big-league debut was one to remember as he recorded the final six outs to secure the first no-hitter of the 2026 campaign. Prior to having his contract selected Friday by the Astros, the right-hander posted a 1.42 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 24:7 K:BB across 19 innings with Triple-A Sugar Land.

Seranthony Dominguez RP | CHW
White Sox's Seranthony Dominguez: Picks up first save in 12 days
Dominguez earned the save in Monday's 3-1 win over the Twins, allowing one hit and no walks with two strikeouts in a scoreless ninth inning.
It was Dominguez's first save in 12 days and his 11th of the season. After allowing five runs in a combined two innings of work May 13 and May 17, Dominguez didn't pitch for a week. He's now posted back-to-back scoreless outings after the reset. The right-hander owns a 4.35 ERA and 26:11 K:BB across 20.2 innings this season.

David Bednar RP | NYY
Yankees' David Bednar: Locks down 12th save Monday
Bednar earned the save Monday against the Yankees, issuing one walk in a scoreless ninth inning.
Bednar entered with a one-run lead and worked around a two-out walk to Lane Thomas to secure his 12th save of the season. The veteran closer has experienced an inconsistent month of May, allowing runs in five of his 10 appearances during that span. Bednar now owns a 4.70 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 28:10 K:BB across 23 innings this season.

Jonathan Loaisiga RP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Jonathan Loaisiga: Tosses scoreless frame
Loaisiga (shoulder) allowed one hit in a scoreless inning during Monday's 6-2 victory over the Giants.
Loaisiga hadn't appeared in a game since May 19 after dealing with right shoulder fatigue, but he was given the green light to handle the eighth inning Monday. He's been one of Arizona's more reliable bullpen arms lately, as he's posted seven straight scoreless outings (six innings).

Gabe Speier RP | SEA
Mariners' Gabe Speier: Nearing return from IL
Speier (shoulder) has joined the Mariners in Sacramento and could be activated from the 15-day injured list soon, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Speier has appeared in two minor-league games on the way back from left shoulder inflammation, most recently firing a scoreless frame while striking out two Saturday against Triple-A Salt Lake. Manager Dan Wilson hasn't revealed whether Speier will be activated in time for Monday's series opener, though he noted the southpaw could return shortly, per Kramer.

Bailey Falter RP | KC
Royals' Bailey Falter: Drawing start Tuesday
Falter will serve as the Royals' starting pitcher for Tuesday's game against the Yankees, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
Falter will be making his second straight turn through the rotation, though he's likely to be in line for a limited workload once again after tossing two innings and 39 pitches in a start last Tuesday in a 7-1 loss to the Red Sox. Luinder Avila covered three innings behind Falter in that game and could be called upon in bulk relief versus the Yankees.
