Alex Young RP | CIN
Mets' Alex Young: Bound for Queens
The Mets will recall Young from Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
MLB rosters will expand to 28 players Sunday, which will allow the Mets to add Young to their bullpen as additional depth. The 30-year-old southpaw has allowed just one run in nine innings between New York and Cincinnati this season, though he's given up four runs over 6.2 frames at Syracuse since making his last MLB appearance.

Victor Vodnik RP | COL
Rockies' Victor Vodnik: Throws off mound
Vodnik (biceps) threw a 15-pitch bullpen session Saturday, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports.
Vodnik was only able to throw at about 80 percent intensity, though it's still a step in the right direction, as it marks the first time he's thrown off a mound since landing on the injured list Aug. 21. The 24-year-old righty will be eligible for activation Tuesday, but the Rockies will likely look to have him face live hitters before clearing him to return.

Wandy Peralta RP | SD
Padres' Wandy Peralta: Moves rehab to Double-A
Peralta (thigh) had his minor-league rehab assignment moved from Single-A Lake Elsinore to Double-A San Antonio on Friday, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Peralta logged a perfect inning with one strikeout in his first appearance with San Antonio on Friday. It was the veteran reliever's third minor-league rehab outing overall, and he's thus far pitched 3.1 scoreless frames while posting a 3:1 K:BB. Peralta's return to the Padres' bullpen could be imminent.

Stephen Kolek RP | KC
Padres' Stephen Kolek: Yet to throw off mound
Kolek (forearm) has been playing catch but hasn't yet thrown off a mound, per MLB.com.
Kolek is rehabbing from right forearm tendinitis, but it's not clear how close he may be to a return to the Padres. The righty reliever logged 42 appearances with the team prior to getting hurt, posting a 5.21 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 39:12 K:BB over 46.2 frames. If Kolek makes it back to the big-league bullpen before the end of the season, he'll likely take on a low-leverage role.

Austin Warren RP | NYM
Giants' Austin Warren: Optioned to Triple-A
The Giants optioned Warren to Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday.
The Giants needed to make room on the pitching staff for Mason Black, who was recalled to start Saturday's game, and Warren will end up as the odd man out of a roster spot. The 28-year-old threw two scoreless innings in his season debut Wednesday versus Milwaukee and could be a candidate to return to San Francisco down the stretch as bullpen depth.

Ryan Helsley RP | BAL
Cardinals' Ryan Helsley: Secures 42nd save
Helsley earned the save against the Yankees on Saturday, allowing one hit and one walk with two strikeouts in a scoreless ninth inning.
Helsley was summoned to protect a 6-5 lead in the ninth frame and struck out Austin Wells with two runners on to earn his league-leading 42nd save. The 30-year-old has allowed just one earned run in his past 10 outings and owns a 2.34 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 64:23 K:BB across 57.2 innings this season.

Alek Jacob RP | SD
Padres' Alek Jacob: Rejoins MLB bullpen
The Padres recalled Jacob from Triple-A El Paso on Saturday.
Jacob has allowed one earned run in 6.1 frames with the Padres this season, though he's posted a 5.14 ERA in seven innings since being sent back to the minors Aug. 8. Nonetheless, he'll rejoin the big-league squad to give the bullpen an additional fresh arm, taking the place of Sean Reynolds.

Sean Reynolds RP | SD
Padres' Sean Reynolds: Sent back to El Paso
The Padres optioned Reynolds to Triple-A El Paso on Saturday.
Reynolds has impressed since coming up from Triple-A on Aug. 11, allowing just one earned run while posting an 18:4 K:BB over 9.1 innings. Despite his great performance, the Padres will now send him back to the minors in favor of Alek Jacob, who will provide the team with a fresh arm out of the bullpen. It wouldn't be a surprise to see Reynolds return to San Diego before the end of the season.

Daniel Palencia RP | CHC
Cubs' Daniel Palencia: Dispatched to Iowa
The Cubs optioned Palencia to Triple-A Iowa on Saturday, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Palencia will end up as the Cubs' roster casualty as Shawn Armstrong, who was claimed off waivers from St. Louis on Friday, officially joins the active roster Saturday. Palencia appeared in two games for Chicago during his latest big-league stint, allowing two runs over 1.2 innings while striking out two batters and issuing four walks.

Evan Kravetz P | CIN
Reds' Evan Kravetz: Booted off 40-man
The Reds designated Kravetz for assignment Saturday.
Just three days after joining the Reds' bullpen and pitching two-thirds of an inning in his MLB debut, Kravetz will now sacrifice his spot on the active and 40-man rosters for David Buchanan, who was promoted from Triple-A in a corresponding move. The 27-year-old Kravetz owns a 3.43 ERA and 1.45 WHIP through 42 frames in the minors and could still return to Cincinnati down the stretch if the Reds need a fresh bullpen arm.
