  • Sam Moll RP | CIN

Reds' Sam Moll: Recalled from Triple-A

The Reds recalled Moll from Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday.

Moll has made just three appearances in the majors this season, allowing four runs over two innings. He has put together four consecutive scoreless outings with Louisville and will now give manager Terry Francona a left-handed bullpen option.

  • Reds' Connor Phillips: Sent back to minors

The Reds optioned Phillips to Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday.

Phillips pitched two relief innings in Monday's game against the Red Sox, allowing four runs in the outing. Since he would have been unavailable for a day or two, the Reds will supplement their bullpen with a fresh arm.

  • Joe La Sorsa RP | BOS

Reds' Joe La Sorsa: Optioned to Triple-A

The Reds optioned La Sorsa to Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday.

La Sorsa's latest stint in the big leagues lasted just one day, and he allowed two runs over 2.2 innings in a relief appearance in Boston. The Reds are replacing him with a fresh bullpen arm.

  • Easton McGee RP | MIL

Brewers' Easton McGee: Back in big-league bullpen

The Brewers recalled McGee from Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday.

McGee has made two appearances for the Brewers this season, yielding one run with a 4:1 K:BB over four innings. He'll give manager Pat Murphy a fresh bullpen arm.

  • Rob Zastryzny RP | MIL

Brewers' Rob Zastryzny: Placed on 15-day injured list

The Brewers placed Zastryzny on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with a ribs stress reaction, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

The injury will cost Zastryzny at least the next couple weeks of action. Easton McGee has taken his spot on the roster and in the bullpen.

  • Javier Assad SP | CHC

Cubs' Javier Assad: Out until August/September

Cubs general manager Carter Hawkins said Tuesday that Assad (oblique) is unlikely to return until August or September, 670 The Score reports.

Assad has been sidelined all season, having suffered a left oblique strain during spring training and then aggravating the injury during a rehab start in late April. Hawkins believes it's "reasonable" to think Assad can still contribute in 2025, but he doesn't expect the righty back before the trade deadline. Assad began playing catch in late May, but it's not clear where he's currently at in his throwing progression.

  • Shelby Miller RP | CHC

Diamondbacks' Shelby Miller: Rebounds with 10th save

Miller struck out two over 1.1 perfect innings to earn the save in Monday's 4-2 win over the Giants.

Miller has blown two of his last five save chances, allowing three runs over 5.2 innings in that span. However, he continues to rack up strikeouts while limiting walks -- he's punched out 10 batters without issuing a walk during that recent stretch, which hasn't even been his best pitching. The 34-year-old right-hander is now at a 2.10 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 39:11 K:BB while adding 10 saves, eight holds and five blown saves over 34.1 innings this year.

  • Ryne Nelson SP | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ryne Nelson: Strong in no-decision

Nelson allowed two runs on five hits and struck out seven without walking a batter over 6.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Giants on Monday.

Nelson was cruising until he put two runners aboard in the seventh inning, both of which came around to score when Juan Morillo allowed a two-run double to Tyler Fitzgerald. That cost Nelson a chance at the win, but this was still another impressive start. He has allowed just five runs (four earned) over 22.1 innings while adding a 21:6 K:BB across his last four starts, so it's a bit unlucky he's come away with just two wins in that span. On the year, Nelson has a 3.61 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 59:21 K:BB through 67.1 innings over 18 appearances (eight starts). His next start is projected to be at home versus the Royals this weekend.

  • Joe La Sorsa RP | BOS

Reds' Joe La Sorsa: Rejoins big-league bullpen

The Reds recalled La Sorsa from Triple-A Louisville on Monday.

He's absorbing the roster spot vacated by Ian Gibaut (shoulder), who has landed on the 15-day injured list. La Sorsa has made two appearances for the Reds this season, getting dinged for four runs.

  • Ian Gibaut RP | CIN

Reds' Ian Gibaut: Back to IL with shoulder injury

The Reds placed Gibaut on the 15-day injured list Monday with a right shoulder impingement.

The same injury cost Gibaut nearly a month of action earlier this season. A timeline for Gibaut's return from the IL this time around isn't yet clear, but he'll be eligible for activation immediately after the All-Star break.
