Pirates closer Mark Melancon recorded his league-leading 37th save of the season during Saturday's win over the Mets.

Melancon closed out the 14th inning of his team's victory with relative ease, as he allowed just one hit. He now has a 1.64 ERA in 55 innings of relief this season.

Brewers starting pitcher Jimmy Nelson struck out six batters during his start against the Phillies on Saturday.

Nelson allowed just two runs on five hits in 6 2/3 innings before being pulled. He walked two batters and gave up a home run in the no-decision.

Nelson (9-9) has a 3.67 ERA in 149 2/3 innings of work this season.

Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen pitched a perfect ninth inning, striking out two of the three batters he faced, Friday against Cincinnati.

Jansen earned his 23rd save of the year and converted his 15th straight save opportunity. 

Jansen has had five straight scoreless outings and has been perfect in four of them. 

Braves reliever Arodys Vizcaino earned his third save in the last eight days, Friday against Arizona. 

Vizcaino earned his first career save on August 6. He pitched a perfect ninth inning on Friday to protect a one-run lead. 

Vizcaino had his 11th straight outing without allowing a run.

Melancon allowed a run but closed out the Pirates' 3-2 win over the Mets on Friday. It's the third straight save where Melancon has allowed a run. 

Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen didn't have to expel much energy to pick up his 22nd save of the season, needing just eight pitches to close out his team's 3-0 win over the Nationals on Wednesday. 

Jansen got a one-pitch fly out to begin the ninth inning and then struck out the final two batters of the game to wrap up the win. Jansen has just one blown save on the season and has converted his last nine opportunities. 

The Braves sent pitcher Ryan Kelly down to Triple-A after Wednesday's 9-6 loss to the Rays, reports MLB.com.

During the contest, Kelly allowed a two-run home run to Curt Casali in the seventh inning to raise his ERA to 8.53.

Closer Ken Giles put together another solid outing since being promoted to the role, picking up a four-out save as the Phillies held off the Diamondbacks on Wednesday. 

Giles has now registered all seven of his saves in his last seven appearances dating back to July 28, allowing just one earned run during that stretch. 

Wednesday, Giles allowed one hit, but struck out two batters, needing just 17 pitches to face four hitters. 

Reds pitcher Raisel Iglesias had a rough first inning, but settled in to produce a quality start Wednesday against the Padres to earn his third win of the season.

Iglesias allowed three runs on three hits over six innings of work during the 7-3 win. He also struck out eight and walked one. His lone mistake was giving up a three-run home run to Matt Kemp in the first inning.

Iglesias is now 3-4 with a 4.70 ERA. He has produced a quality start in his last three outings.

Diamondbacks pitcher David Hernandez was forced to leave Wednesday's game against the Phillies after being hit by a line drive in the left ankle by Andres Blanco in the sixth inning, reports MLB.com.

Hernandez allowed two hits over 1/3 innings before leaving with the ankle contusion.
