Edgin (elbow) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Friday.

The 29-year-old is still recovering from Tommy John surgery and is expected to be back by the end of April. Once healthy, Edgin will look to pick up where he left off in 2014 when he posted a 1.32 ERA in 27.3 innings of relief for the Mets.

Thornton was reassigned to Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday.

Thronton will have to wait another year to make his major league debut, as there was simply other better options for the Mets bullpen. He'll head back to Triple-A to act as organizational bullpen depth.

Manager Andy Green is expected to make a decision on Pomeranz's role with the team Friday, Dennis Lin of The Union-Tribune reports.

Whether Pomeranz is given a role out of the bullpen or in the rotation remains to be seen, but a decision is expected in the near future. If he does not land a spot in the rotation, Colin Rea would likely be the winner of the fifth starter's role. Interestingly, the Padres parted ways with Odrisamer Despaigne this offseason, so Pomeranz could theoretically take his place as a swing man out of the bullpen and as an occasional spot starter.

Rusin (finger) will not be in the rotation to start the season after manager Walt Weiss announced that the Rockies would be going with a four-man rotation to start the season, Nick Groke of the Denver Post reports.

Rusin was thought to be an option to join the rotation once his finger was healthy, but it appears that they are content with him simply joining the bullpen. If Jon Gray (abdomen) is out longer than expected, though, the left-hander could get some starts later in the month.

Nolin (elbow) received the results of his MRI Thursday and has an elbow strain, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Nolin has already been placed on the disabled list to start the season, so he'll miss at least a bit of time to start the season. This is better news than having a tear, so that should help the left-hander get back to action sooner. Nolin will get a second opinion on his elbow prior to taking any action, so things should become clearer once that happens. While he's out, Chris Capuano will act as the main left-hander in the Brewers bullpen.

Bowman will be on the Opening Day roster, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports.

The Rule 5 pick managed to garner a roster spot after holding his own in major league spring training and thanks to Jordan Walden's shoulder issue. He'll likely slot into lower-leverage relief situations going forward.

Castro has made the Rockies' Opening Day roster, Nick Groke of The Denver Post reports.

Castro was previously on the bubble, but after posting a 3.38 ERA and 0.75 WHIP this spring, the Rockies decided he was worthy of a roster spot. The 21-year-old is a power pitcher with a fastball that typically sits in the mid-to-upper 90s, and while Jake McGee has the closer spot locked down, Castro could still have some value as a reliever, especially after boasting an impressive 9.2 K/9 in 18 games at the major league level in 2015.

Matzek (personal) rejoined the Rockies on Thursday, Nick Groke of the Denver Post reports.

Bothered by performance anxiety since the middle of last season, Matzek spent the past month working with mental skills coach Rick Perea, a former NFL linebacker who also does work for the Denver Broncos. Injuries are taking a toll on the back end of the Rockies' rotation, yet Matzek still doesn't figure to be an option for the first few weeks of the season. He may stay behind at extended spring training, and eventually figures to pitch for Triple-A Albuquerque.

Nolin (elbow) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Thursday, retroactive to March 25.

Nolin was scheduled for an MRI earlier in the week, but there hasn't been any update regarding the results. Even if he makes a quick recovery, he'll likely get most of his work in medium and low-leverage situations.

Bowman is likely to retain an Opening Day roster spot, Jennifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.

Fellow reliever Jordan Walden is dealing with a shoulder injury, which leaves a spot in the bullpen open for Bowman. Because Bowman was selected in the Rule 5 draft last December, the Cardinals are required to keep him on their roster for the entire 2016 season or send him back to the Mets. Walden's absence at the start of the season will give the Cards an extended period of time to evaluate the righty at the major league level, but bowman is unlikely to inherit a fantasy-relevant role out of the pen in 2016.
