Miller (finger) threw a side session Wednesday and is slated to pitch in an extended spring training game over the weekend, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.

Miller continues to work back from a sprained finger on his throwing hand, but he looks to already be making significant progress after hitting the DL late last week. Assuming the weekend outing goes well, Miller could embark on a brief rehab stint before returning to the Diamondbacks sometime in the next 10-to-15 days.

Young (forearm) returned from the disabled list on Monday and allowed just one run on six hits and zero walks while striking out one over five innings.

One of the Diamondbacks' top pitching prospects in the lower levels of the minors, Young could move somewhat quickly to High-A if he can get on a nice run with Kane County over the coming months.

Robles suffered a minor right ankle sprain Wednesday, and is expected to be available Friday, ESPN New York's Adam Rubin reports.

He apparently caught a spike in Wednesday's game and left after recording an out against the only hitter he faced. Fortunately the Mets get a much needed day off Thursday, so Robles may not have to miss any time with the sprain.

Manager Craig Counsell said that once Smith knocks some rust off he will be an option to close games along with Jeremy Jeffress, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Tom Haudricourt reports.

The original plan back before Smith got injured was to use a tandem closer attack, presumably playing the matchups with Smith getting the looks against lefty-heavy spots in the opposing lineup. That plan appears to be back on, at least once Smith shows that he's back to prior form. Smith was going to be useful even if he wasn't getting saves just based on the strikeouts and ratios he is capable of posting, and now it sounds like there should be some saves to go along with the skills.

Hader will likely skip his next start to rest, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

With 51 innings under his belt at Double-A Biloxi, Hader is nearly halfway to his innings total from 2015 (104). The organization wants to give the 22-year-old a little time to recharge, so it will likely skip him one time through the rotation. Hader has been dominant this season -- he hasn't given up more than one run in any of his 10 starts and has posted a 65:17 K:BB.

Weber was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday.

Jason Grilli was traded to the Blue Jays and Weber was called up to take his spot on the Braves' active roster. Weber was clobbered for nine runs on 15 hits (including two homers) in 7.2 innings with Atlanta earlier this year, and while the results have been much better with Gwinnett (2.81 ERA), he's managed a mere 13 strikeouts in 25.2 innings with the affiliate.

Murray has a 1.38 ERA and 1.00 WHIP after throwing 13 innings since being recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on April 30.

After an underwhelming start to 2016 at Lehigh Valley where his ERA reached 6.10, Murray's solid performance for the Phillies has been a pleasant surprise. He's pitched in 10 games, allowing runs in just one, and has thrown up to three innings at a time. Whether or not he can sustain such a low ERA and WHIP has yet to be seen, but would be welcomed by a mediocre Phillies' bullpen that has a collective ERA of 3.71.

Strop struck out two in a perfect inning of relief Monday against the Dodgers.

Jason Hammel was knocked out of the game early with an injury, but Strop was part of an outstanding relief effort. In his last seven appearances, covering 6.1 innings, Strop has given up three hits and zero runs and has a 9:2 K:BB.

Neris was tagged with a loss after allowing three runs on two hits in two-thirds of an inning Monday against the Nationals. He walked three and struck out one.

Neris, who had not given up a run since May 6, struggled with his command Monday. He threw a total of 29 pitches and 16 of those pitches were balls. He is 1-2 with a 2.20 ERA and a 38:10 K:BB in 28.2 innings this season.

Maurer had a Memorial Day to forget, allowing five runs in a third of an inning in the Padres' loss to the Mariners. He allowed three hits and walked two in the outing.

Maurer is having a tough season thus far, owning an unsightly 5.92 ERA and 1.52 WHIP. The righty registered a 3.00 ERA in 51 innings last season, but has proven unreliable of late, allowing runs in four of his last seven appearances.
