Law was placed on the DL with a strained right elbow.

Law has been a stellar reliever for the Giants this season, producing a 1.94 ERA and 0.96 WHIP over 51 innings. The fact that he's dealing with an elbow strain is particularly concerning given that he previous underwent Tommy John surgery in 2014, but it's unclear how much time this injury will cost him. The Giants recalled recalled Jarrett Parker from Triple-A Sacramento to take Law's spot on the 25-man roster.

Montero will be promoted and start Monday in place of Jacob deGrom, whose turn on the rotation os being skipped due to fatigue and to work on mechanical issues, ESPN New York reports.

Montero opened the season at Triple-A Las Vegas but was demoted due to poor performance after he posted a 4.60 ERA in 16 starts with the 51s. With his prospect status diminished and his career possibly hanging by a thread, Montero turned it around at Double-A Binghamton, posting a 1.70 ERA in eight starts, albeit with 19 walks in 47.2 innings pitched. With the rosters expanding Thursday, look for Montero to remain with the Mets as a spot-starter and bullpen arm.

Nelson didn't factor into the decision Saturday versus the Pirates, giving up six runs (five earned) on seven hits and three walks over 3.2 innings. He also recorded a strikeout.

The right-hander didn't have it Saturday, getting into early trouble by allowing an RBI double to Starling Marte in the first. Nelson went on to fall apart in what was a five-run fourth for the Pirates, leading to his ouster after a whopping 84 pitches in less than four frames. Nelson has endured a nightmarish August, posting a 1-4 record and 8.51 ERA over the 24.1 innings encompassing his six starts. He'll look to bounce back in a rematch with Jameson Taillon and the Pirates next Friday.

Jansen pitched a clean ninth inning Saturday's 3-2 victory over the Cubs to earn his 38th save. He struck out two.

The closer needed just 12 pitches, 10 of which he threw for strikes, to nail down Julio Urias' fifth win of the season. It was an encouraging bounce-back performance for Jansen after he blew a save opportunity against this same Cubs squad on Friday and keeps him well on pace to surpass the career-best 44 saves he tallied in 2014.

De Leon will not start Sunday against the Cubs, Alanna Rizzo of SportsNet LA reports.

He will be passed over in favor of Brock Stewart, whom manager Dave Roberts said gives the team the "best chance to win." De Leon has been trying his best to force the Dodgers' hand, turning in back-to-back 10-strikeout, zero-walk performances with Triple-A Oklahoma City, but the team continues to hold off on adding him to the 40-man. The right-hander could finally come up in September.

Chapman worked around a hit with a pair of strikeouts in a scoreless inning to earn his 30th save of the season Friday versus the Dodgers.

Chapman allowed a weak single to lead off his inning of work, but he was his usual dominant self after and threw 13 of 19 pitches for strikes. He blew a save last Friday in Colorado, but he has rattled off three straight conversions and is now the owner of a 1.80 ERA and a 0.87 WHIP.

Hoffman (0-2) gave up four runs (three earned) on six hits and four walks over six innings in Friday's 8-5 loss to the Nationals. He struck out three.

The rookie was much better in his second start, despite some control issues. Hoffman got into some trouble with the long ball but limited the damage on homers by Jayson Werth and Daniel Murphy. The solid outing lowered Hoffman's ERA by over five runs and he'll try to keep the momentum going versus the Dodgers next Wednesday.

Reyes will start Saturday's game against the A's, MLB.com's Jenifer Langosch reports.

Reyes will make his first major league start Saturday in place of Mike Leake, who has been diagnosed with shingles. Reyes has worked only out of the bullpen so far with the Cardinals, but he is one of the game's top pitching prospects, so this figures to be his first start of many for the club.

Strop (knee) has resumed jogging, Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports.

Now two weeks removed from undergoing an arthroscopic procedure, Strop has been cleared for some light running and should be able to gradually ramp up his activity from here. He was handed a four-to-six week estimated recovery timetable after having the knee scoped.

Moore (8-10) came within one out of a no-hitter Thursday, ultimately holding the Dodgers scoreless with one hit, three walks and seven strikeouts over 8.2 frames.

A clean single to right by Corey Seager spoiled Moore's bid for his first career no-no, but this was still a spectacular outing for the lefty. However, after he threw a whopping 133 pitches -- a scary prospect for a guy with his injury history -- en route to his first win as a Giant, Moore may not be a safe fantasy play when he makes his next start Wednesday against Arizona.
