Lamet received an MRI on his elbow Monday, but the Padres aren't releasing the results of the examination, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Because the team isn't providing any updates on Lamet's condition, it's difficult to estimate when the righty will be able to come off the disabled list. However, Lamet has yet to resume throwing, so it would appear that he could be due for an extended absence. It's worth noting that the Padres initially slow-played prospect Anderson Espinoza's arm injury last spring before eventually opting for Tommy John surgery. The Padres are expected to provide more information on Lamet when the 25-year-old prepares to start throwing again.

Hudson signed a minor-league contract with the Dodgers on Monday, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

Following his signing, Hudson will report to extended spring training. Hudson spent the 2017 season with the Pirates and threw to the tune of a 4.38 ERA and 1.46 WHIP over 71 games (61.2 innings). Should Hudson be used in the big club's bullpen, it's unlikely that he would see much time in high-leverage situations.

Kontos threw one shutout inning and earned a save in Monday's win against the Twins.

Felipe Rivero, Pittsburgh's typical closer, was used in both games of Sunday's doubleheader against the Tigers. As a result, Kontos had the chance to earn his first save of the season. Although he didn't log any strikeouts, he managed to retire each of the three batters he faced. While Rivero will see the bulk of the club's save opportunities over the course of the season, the expectation is that Kontos will be used in plenty of high-leverage situations out of the bullpen.

Richards' contract was selected by the Marlins on Monday, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.

As expected, Richards has been summoned to the big club ahead of his scheduled start Monday against the Red Sox. While the 24-year-old looked sharp in spring training, allowing just one run across 12 innings of work, he has yet to pitch above Double-A, so expectations should be tempered for his big-league debut. Richards notched a solid 2.87 ERA and 77:18 K:BB across 75.1 innings with Double-A Jacksonville last year.

Holmes was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis on Monday, Bill Brink of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

He'll take the 25-man roster spot of Joe Musgrove (shoulder), who was placed on the 10-day disabled list. Holmes previously joined the Pirates as the 26th man for their Sunday doubleheader against the Tigers but didn't get the opportunity to make his major-league debut. Musgrove's stay on the DL could be short, but Holmes should at least receive his first MLB action at some point this week. If he doesn't receive Musgrove's previously scheduled start Thursday against the Reds, Holmes will likely work in long relief. Bullpen arms Steven Brault and Tyler Glasnow are more likely candidates to move into the rotation on a short-term basis while Musgrove is sidelined.

Leone fired a scoreless ninth inning in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Mets, allowing a hit while recording two strikeouts.

Leone was slated to share closing duties with lefty Tyler Lyons to open the season, but the recent signing of Greg Holland, who's currently prepping for the season in the minors, has altered those plans. The 26-year-old right-hander is still expected to see a solid allotment of late-inning work, but save chances are likely to be difficult to come by, especially considering that Luke Gregerson (hamstring) -- who has plenty of closing experience, as well -- will eventually be another potential impediment to ninth-inning opportunities.

Barraclough struck out two in a perfect ninth inning during Sunday's 6-0 win over the Cubs.

The flamethrowing righty is off to a good start to the season, posting a 4:1 K:BB through two innings without allowing a run. Marlins closer Brad Ziegler is already looking shaky, and if manager Don Mattingly decides to make a change, Barraclough seems like the top candidate to replace the veteran in save situations.

Bowman notched his first hold of the season in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Mets, firing two scoreless innings in which he allowed a hit and recorded two strikeouts.

He'd had a rude introduction to 2018 at the hands of the Mets on Opening Day, allowing three earned runs on three hits and a walk over just a third of an inning. Sunday's effort was therefore a stark and welcome departure and gave the Cardinals a valuable bridge through the sixth and seventh innings after starter Luke Weaver got the hook following a 92-pitch tally through five. Bowman is likely to be called upon for similar multi-inning stints throughout the season, given the ability he's demonstrated in such a role over his first two major-league campaigns.
