Daniel Ponce de Leon RP | WAS
Cardinals' Daniel Poncedeleon: Summoned to majors
Poncedeleon had his contract purchased from Triple-A Memphis on Monday.
Poncedeleon will join the big club for the first time in his career after compiling an impressive 2.41 ERA and 71:35 K:BB across 59.2 innings with Triple-A Memphis this season. The 26-year-old will offer a fresh arm out of the bullpen after Sunday's starter, Carlos Martinez, lasted just 3.2 innings. Luke Voit was sent to the minors in a corresponding roster move.

Jamie Callahan RP | NYM
Mets' Jamie Callahan: Set for shoulder surgery
Callahan will undergo shoulder surgery, Betsy Helfand of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
Callahan, who has been on the minor-league disabled list since April 22 with a shoulder injury, will miss the remainder of the season after going under the knife. Prior to suffering the injury, the 23-year-old compiled a 9.72 ERA and 9:4 K:BB across 8.1 innings of relief.

Sam Howard RP | DET
Rockies' Sam Howard: Recalled from minors
The Rockies recalled Howard from Triple-A Albuquerque on Saturday.
Howard made his MLB debut out of the bullpen Sunday in the Rockies' 8-3 loss to the Diamondbacks, working around a hit in a scoreless ninth inning. The 25-year-old was deployed exclusively as a starter during his time at Albuquerque this season, so he should give the Rockies some extra length out of the bullpen. It's likely that most of his usage will come in lower-leverage scenarios.

Shelby Miller RP | CHC
Diamondbacks' Shelby Miller: Expected to need two more rehab starts
Miller (elbow) is expected to make at least two more rehab outings in the minors before being activated from the 60-day disabled list, Zach Buchanan of The Athletic Arizona reports.
Miller was expected to build up to around 90 pitches in his third rehab start Sunday at Double-A Jackson, but he only made it 65 while being clobbered for eight runs on nine hits and two walks over three innings. The right-hander didn't report any setbacks with his surgically repaired elbow coming out of the poor start, but he'll require a couple more turns in the minors to build up to a starter's workload. Miller doesn't look on track to return from the DL until late June and may not be guaranteed a spot in the Arizona rotation if all of Zack Godley, Matt Koch and Clay Buchholz are pitching well.

Robert Gsellman RP | WAS
Mets' Robert Gsellman: Collects sixth hold Sunday
Gsellman allowed one hit and struck out two in two scoreless innings to pick up his sixth hold of the season in Sunday's win over the Yankees.
With the Mets' bullpen in disarray and the team trying to snap an eight-game losing streak, manager Mickey Callaway elected to take no chances in protecting a 2-0 lead, using his best reliever in the seventh and eighth innings rather than saving Gsellman for the ninth. Jeurys Familia (shoulder) is currently on a rehab assignment and is expected back within the next week, but while he's out Gsellman still seems the most likely candidate for saves despite his usage Sunday.

Seranthony Dominguez RP | SEA
Phillies' Seranthony Dominguez: Strikes out four
Dominguez allowed a run on three hits in two innings in Sunday's win against Milwaukee, striking out four.
The four strikeouts represented Dominguez's season (and therefore career) high. He's settling into a high-leverage multi-inning role, having gotten at least four outs in six of his last seven appearances. For comparison, Josh Hader has lasted at least that long in 16 of his 21 appearances this season. Dominguez doesn't quite have Hader's ridiculous 55.6 percent strikeout rate, but his 34.4 percent figure is more than enough to make him fantasy-relevant in many leagues even if he's not the Phillies' primary closer.
-
Nelson Gonzalez RP | COL
Rockies' Nelson Gonzalez: Back in action at Triple-A
Gonzalez (undisclosed) was activated from the minor-league disabled list.
Gonzalez is back in action with Triple-A Albuquerque after spending a little more than a week on the shelf with an undisclosed injury. It was his third stint on the disabled list this season. In his first start back with the Isotopes, Gonzalez struck out five and allowed just three hits across five scoreless frames, lowering his ERA to 4.85 on the season (26 innings).
-
Luis Garcia RP | MIN
Phillies' Luis Garcia: Fails to finish ninth inning
Garcia earned his 10th hold of the season Sunday against the Brewers, allowing two hits in two-thirds of an inning, striking out one batter.
Garcia has just one save on the season but looked to be in line for a second when he entered the game in the top of the ninth with a one-run lead. He got two outs against the bottom of the Brewers' order but then allowed back-to-back hits to pinch hitter Domingo Santana and leadoff man Lorenzo Cain before being removed in favor of Tommy Hunter, who got the final out and the save. Despite getting the ball in the ninth inning, Garcia doesn't seem likely to make a real push for the closer's job, as the Phillies appear to be firmly committed to a committee approach.
-
Raisel Iglesias RP | ATL
Reds' Raisel Iglesias: Given an extra day to rest
Jared Hughes got the save Sunday to give Iglesias an extra day to rest, MLB.com's Mark Sheldon reports.
Iglesias had pitched on three consecutive days earlier in the week (Wednesday-Friday), picking up a loss on the third of those days. There doesn't appear to be an injury right now, though Iglesias last month had a trip to the DL with a biceps injury on his non-throwing arm, so it'll bear watching to see if there's any sort of recurrence.

Matt Bowman RP | MIN
Cardinals' Matt Bowman: Solid in second rehab appearance
Bowman (finger) fired a scoreless eighth inning in Triple-A Memphis' loss to Reno on Saturday, issuing one walk but no hits.
As was the case in his first appearance with the Redbirds on Thursday, Bowman was efficient, needing only 10 pitches to get through his inning despite issuing the one free pass. The right-hander has yet to allow a hit over his two innings at Memphis, and it appears that the blisters on his index and middle fingers that brought about his disabled list stint have not resurfaced. Bowman is scheduled to log a third appearance on Monday, at which point he'll be evaluated by the team's medical staff in St. Louis to determine his next step.
