Brent Suter RP | ATL
Brewers' Brent Suter: Out with forearm tightness
Suter was placed on the disabled list Friday with forearm tightness.
The assignment was made retroactive to July 3, so there's at least a chance Suter is able to return before the All-Star break. Forearm tightness is sometimes the initial diagnoses that precedes a more serious injury, though the severity of this particular case is not yet clear. Aaron Wilkerson was recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs and will start in Suter's place Saturday against the Braves.

Dillon Peters RP | PIT
Marlins' Dillon Peters: Optioned to Triple-A
Peters was sent down to Triple-A New Orleans on Friday, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
Peters will make room for Garrett Cooper (wrist), who was reinstated from the disabled list in a corresponding move. Through seven appearances (five starts) with the Marlins this year, Peters has logged a 7.16 ERA and 1.77 WHIP.

Evan Phillips RP | LAD
Braves' Evan Phillips: Called up from Gwinnett
Phillips was recalled from the minors prior to Friday's game against the Brewers.
Phillips has only appeared in one game with the Braves this season, which came against the Yankees on Tuesday. Across 38.2 innings with Triple-A Gwinnett, he's logged an impressive 2.09 ERA and 58 strikeouts. Look for him to serve as a middle-relief option.

Enyel De Los Santos RP | HOU
Phillies' Enyel De Los Santos: Could start Tuesday as dominant season continues
De Los Santos, a possible candidate for a spot start Tuesday, continued his excellent season at Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Thursday, allowing two runs on four hits and a walk in a six-inning start against Syracuse.
De Los Santos has allowed three or fewer runs in each of his 16 starts this season, leaving him with a sparkling 1.89 ERA. That ERA may overrate him somewhat, as it's backed up by a .248 BABIP and a 92.6 percent left on base rate, but De Los Santos has certainly elevated his profile after he was acquired for Freddy Galvis in the offseason. The Phillies will need a pair of spot starters next week, one to start one half of Monday's doubleheader and the other to fill in for Vince Velasquez (forearm) on Tuesday. De Los Santos makes a natural candidate to receive Tuesday's opportunity, as he is already on schedule to start that day. He's not yet on the 40-man roster but will have to be added this offseason in order to be protected from the Rule 5 draft, so the Phillies have little to lose by calling on him for his major-league debut.

Carl Edwards RP | DET
Cubs' Carl Edwards Jr.: Activated from DL
Edwards (shoulder) was reinstated from the 10-day disabled list Friday, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.
As expected, Edwards will be available out of the Cubs' bullpen for Friday's series opener versus Cincinnati. He appeared in a pair of minor-league rehab games earlier this week, and didn't experience any physical problems during either outing. Across 25 innings, he's posted a 2.88 ERA and 40:12 K:BB this year.

Brad Hand RP | ATL
Padres' Brad Hand: Records 24th save
Hand allowed one hit and struck out three to record the save Thursday against the Diamondbacks.
Hand recorded his 24th save, good enough for second in the National League. He hasn't been as dominant of late, allowing seven earned runs across his last six innings pitched -- including two blown saves -- so it was good to see him put forth a strong effort Thursday.

Shelby Miller RP | CHC
Diamondbacks' Shelby Miller: Takes loss Thursday
Miller (0-3) allowed five runs (three earned) on five hits and two walks while striking out seven across 5.1 innings to take the loss Thursday against the Padres.
Miller had put together a solid start through five innings by allowing only two earned runs, but he allowed a walk and a triple to begin the sixth inning. Both of those runners ultimately came around to score -- one on an error and the other on a hit allowed by Andrew Chafin -- inflating his run total. Despite the less than stellar stat line, there were encouraging signs from the performance as Miller managed 11 swinging strikes on 94 pitches while inducing seven groundball outs.

Alex Lange RP | KC
Cubs' Alex Lange: Pitching well this season
Through 14 starts with High-A Myrtle Beach this year, Lange is 5-5 with a 3.39 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 66 strikeouts in 74.1 innings.
After a brief stint with short-season Eugene last year, the Cubs' 2017 first-round pick has looked good in his first full professional season. As a 22-year-old who spent three seasons at LSU, Lange could be ready to move up to Double-A later this year if he keeps pitching well. He profiles as a low-ceiling, high-floor prospect who could be a solid piece toward the back of an MLB rotation.
