  • Phil Maton RP | CHC

Padres' Phil Maton: Recalled from Triple-A

Maton was promoted to the Padres from Triple-A El Paso on Monday, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Maton figures to be used in relief, as he's appeared in 17 games out of the bullpen at Triple-A, posting a 1.53 ERA and 1.58 WHIP with 18 strikeouts over 17.2 innings. Cory Spangenberg and Miguel Diaz were optioned to the minors in corresponding moves.

  • Hoby Milner RP | CHC

Phillies' Hoby Milner: Recalled by Phillies

Milner was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Monday.

Milner pitched 10 times for the Phillies earlier in the year, stumbling to a 7.71 ERA and a 1.93 WHIP in 4.2 innings. He'll serve as the Phillies' third left-handed reliever behind Adam Morgan and Austin Davis.

  • Andrew Chafin RP | CIN

Diamondbacks' Andrew Chafin: Notches pair of strikeouts

Chafin struck out both of the hitters he faced in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Padres in 16 innings.

Chafin has yielded runs in just three of his last 31 appearances, producing a 1.21 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 9.3 K/9 over that stretch. The top lefty in the Arizona bullpen, Chafin is at his best against same-handed hitters, but he's been doing a credible job of limiting the damage versus right-handed bats as well. Over 58 at-bats this season, the southpaw has limited right-handed hitters to a .190/.284/.293 slash line.

  • Marlins' Trevor Richards: Walks seven in no-decision

Richards threw 3.2 innings in a no-decision against the Nationals on Sunday, giving up two earned runs on four hits while striking out five and walking seven as the Marlins eventually prevailed 10-2.

The Marlins offense provided him plenty of support, but Richards couldn't put himself in line for a win thanks to his command issues. The seven free passes were a season high and resulted in him tossing 87 pitches in his 3.2 frames before exiting the contest. Overall, Richards hasn't been providing the numbers of a viable fantasy starter this season (5.24 ERA, 1.61 WHIP through 56.2 innings).

  • Brad Hand RP | ATL

Padres' Brad Hand: Earns second win Sunday

Hand (2-4) pitched two scoreless innings Sunday, earning the win in a 4-3 victory over Arizona. He allowed two hits and struck out three.

The Padres outlasted the Diamondbacks in 16 innings, and Hand was San Diego's ninth pitcher used. He dropped his ERA to 2.91 with a 64:15 K:BB, remaining a strong fantasy closer and big trade piece moving towards the MLB trade deadline.

  • Phillies' Enyel De Los Santos: Confirmed as Tuesday's starter

De Los Santos is slated to make his major-league debut Tuesday against the Mets, Tom Housenick the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs reports.

De Los Santos will be added to the 40-man roster sometime ahead of Tuesday's matchup, after the Phillies shift Pedro Florimon (foot) to the 60-day disabled list. Philadelphia has elected to bring the 22-year-old prospect up from the minors to make a spot start, as they'll need a few spot starters following Monday's doubleheader. De Los Santos has been outstanding for Triple-A Lehigh Valley through 16 starts this season, posting a 1.89 ERA and 1.09 WHIP with an 87:31 K:BB over 95.1 innings.

  • Reds' David Hernandez: Allows first 2018 homer Saturday

Hernandez gave up a homer Saturday to the Cubs' Javier Baez as part of the Reds' bullpen collapse. It was his first homer allowed since September of 2017, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

It was a rare bad day for all three of the Reds' top setup guys -- Hernandez, Amir Garrett and Jared Hughes all allowed runs. Hernandez still has a 2.08 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 32:13 K:BB in 30.1 innings this year.

  • A.J. Minter RP | MIN

Braves' A.J. Minter: Could continue to see save chances

Minter may continue to see save opportunities as the Braves ease closer Arodys Vizcaino back from the disabled list, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Minter's performance while Vizcaino was on the DL -- eight scoreless outings and a 0.55 WHIP -- may have aided in the decision, but it appears to be a temporary shift for the Braves. Manager Brian Snitker indicated Vizcaino's usage will be more matchup-dependent for the near future as they bring him back up to speed, so Minter is hardly guaranteed to be called upon should a save opportunity present itself. The 24-year-old can be a valuable high-leverage relief asset regardless, with a 2.68 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 42:15 K:BB over 37 innings this season.

  • Braves' Arodys Vizcaino: Matchup-dependent opportunities in near future?

Vizcaino's save opportunities could be matchup-dependent as the Braves ease him back from the disabled list, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Vizcaino has made two appearances -- both non-save situations -- since coming off the disabled list last Tuesday with right shoulder inflammation. Manager Brian Snitker indicated the Braves are trying to give the 27-year-old an easy transition from the DL, which includes providing him the best possible matchups. A.J. Minter and Dan Winkler may see a few save opportunities in the meantime, but Vizcaino seems likely to regain his hold on the closer's role after the All-Star break given his 1.71 ERA and 1.14 WHIP.

  • Jimmy Nelson RP | LAD

Brewers' Jimmy Nelson: September return possible

General manager David Stearns indicated Sunday he expects Nelson (shoulder) to pitch for the Brewers in 2018, but that is unlikely to occur prior to September, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Stearns presented a similar sentiment in late June but never provided as specific a window for Nelson's potential return. The 29-year-old has yet to throw off a mound so there's no real indication how likely a return in 2018 may be, since he will need multiple weeks to build up his stamina after not pitching in over 10 months. Nelson being sidelined through the rest of the 2018 season appears to be a real possibility, and he seems unlikely to make a significant fantasy impact at this point.
