Mayers (shoulder) was activated from the 10-day disabled list Tuesday.

Mayers is back with the Cardinals after spending a little more than two weeks on the shelf with a shoulder injury. He made one rehab appearance before being cleared to return, allowing just one hit across a scoreless inning for Triple-A Memphis. Mayers, who owns a 4.14 ERA and 1.30 WHIP with 42 strikeouts across 45.2 innings with the Cardinals this season, will be immediately available out of the bullpen for St. Louis.

Mayers (shoulder) fired a scoreless inning in which he allowed one hit in Triple-A Memphis' playoff win over Oklahoma City on Sunday.

After seeing his start delayed by a couple of days due to the stomach flu, Mayers finally took the hill Sunday and fired an efficient 12 pitches overall. The rehabbing right-hander is expected to come off the disabled list before Tuesday's game.

Guerra was recalled from Triple-A El Paso on Tuesday.

Guerra will join the Padres for the final few weeks of the season after Triple-A El Paso was eliminated from the Pacific Coast League playoffs over the weekend. The 22-year-old hit .223/.269/.398 with 13 homers for the Chihuahuas this season, so he doesn't figure to serve as anything more than infield depth for the big club.

Andriese was torched for seven runs on eight hits and two walks over 1.1 innings of relief in Monday's 13-2 loss to the Rockies.

The seven earned runs were one more than Andriese had allowed in his last 12 appearances combined and resulted in his season ERA jumping from 3.99 to 4.76. The right-hander is likely to serve as an innings eater out of the bullpen for the remainder of the season, but don't expect him to see much duty in high-leverage spots even while the Diamondbacks' late-inning situation remains unsettled for the moment.

Minter struck out two in a perfect ninth inning against the Giants on Monday en route to his 14th save of the season.

A mid-August slip-up led manager Brian Snitker to turn elsewhere for a few save opportunities -- Dan Winkler, Jonny Venters and Brad Brach have all recorded saves in recent times -- but it's clear that Minter is still the preferred option in the ninth inning. He's now recorded three of the Braves' last four saves. It's hard to imagine Arodys Vizcaino taking the job back immediately upon his return from a shoulder injury later this week.

De Los Santos was recalled by the Phillies on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old will give the Phillies an additional arm in the bullpen down the stretch. He's allowed eight runs in 12 innings at the big-league level this season, though he posted an excellent 2.63 ERA in 22 starts for Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Hader pitched two perfect innings and struck out six batters in Monday's victory over the Cubs.

Hader was on top of his game Monday, reaching 97 with his fastball and breezing through the top of the Cubs' order with ease. He is now up to a whopping 127 punchouts on the season -- 14 of which came over his last three appearances.

Fields gave up a hit over a scoreless inning in Monday's loss to the Reds.

Fields logged a full inning for the first time since returning from a shoulder injury Aug. 30. The club appears to be easing the reliever back into action. Kenta Maeda and Ryan Madson have taken over as the Dodgers' top right-handed setup men, so Fields will likely be limited to a middle-relief role down the stretch.

Rodriguez (6-3) took the loss despite holding the Braves to two runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks while striking out three over 6.1 innings Monday.

Despite being saddled with the loss, Rodriguez was effective against a tough Braves lineup, lowering his ERA to 2.35 in the process. The Rookie of the Year candidate fired 110 pitches, and manager Bruce Bochy said that he has "no concerns" regarding his young pitcher's career-high innings total (153.2 combined innings this year), John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. This news will come as a relief to Rodriguez's fantasy owners, as a potential shutdown appears unlikely. The 26-year-old will look to continue his impressive campaign in a home start against the Rockies on Sunday.

Vizcaino (shoulder) will toss a bullpen session Tuesday, and assuming everything goes as planned, he'll return from the disabled list Friday, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Vizcaino looked good in his minor-league rehab appearances at Low-A Rome, so this comes as no surprise. He's been on the disabled list since July 14 due to right shoulder inflammation, but he's finally healthy enough to contribute out of the bullpen. Although the Braves figure to slowly acclimate Vizcaino to big-league action, he'll likely settle into a high-leverage role.
