Pivetta allowed one run on three hits and struck out two over five innings Friday against the Blue Jays.

Pivetta gave up a solo homer in the third inning but was otherwise untouched across five frames. He's been locked in throughout camp and now owns a 2.38 ERA and 0.88 WHIP with six punchouts over 11.1 innings.

Krehbiel was optioned to Triple-A Reno on Friday.

Krehbiel got his first taste of the big leagues last season, but with just three innings under his belt, his odds of cracking the big-league roster were slim at best. He'll return to Reno, where he recorded a mediocre 4.24 ERA in 57.1 innings last season.

Wilson gave up a run on two hits while striking out one over an inning of work in Thursday's Grapefruit League game against the Cardinals.

A free-agent signing this offseason, the 31-year-old is expected to be the Mets' top left-handed set-up man in 2019. While Wilson's 6:0 K:BB through five spring innings is sharp, he's also given up six runs on 10 hits, including two homers. A 10.80 ERA in mid-March doesn't mean anything in the long run, but fantasy GMs looking for Wilson to provide holds and strikeouts this year would be reassured by a couple of clean outings before camp breaks.

Venditte was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Thursday, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Venditte joined the Giants on a one-year deal in December but didn't pitch well in spring training with seven runs allowed on eight hits and four walks over 5.2 innings. The 33-year-old should serve as bullpen depth in the minors for the Giants.

Suero tossed a scoreless inning of relief in Thursday's Grapefruit League game against the Twins, allowing one hit and striking out one.

The right-hander is fighting for one of the last spots in the Nats' bullpen, and while Suero hasn't wowed anyone this spring, he hasn't hurt his chances with a 4:2 K:BB through 4.2 innings. If he does break camp on the big-league roster, he'll likely work in lower-leverage situations after posting a solid 3.59 ERA and 47:15 K:BB in 47.2 frames last season as a rookie.

Law was reassigned to minor-league camp Thursday.

Law's chances of breaking camp with the Giants likely ended when he was designated for assignment in early February. It will take at least a few injuries in the bullpen for him to get another shot in the big leagues.

Arano has allowed 11 runs in three innings of work so far this spring, walking four while striking out just one and allowing three home runs.

The Phillies' bullpen got a lot deeper over the offseason with the additions of David Robertson, Juan Nicasio, Jose Alvarez and James Pazos. Arano's spot hadn't seemed to be in much doubt after he posted a 2.73 ERA last season, but his spring struggles could put his job at risk. He still has options remaining, so if he doesn't sort things out soon he may wind up opening the season at the Triple-A level.

Peralta threw a scoreless inning in Thursday's spring training game against the Dodgers, allowing a hit and a walk while striking out one.

In four big league outings this spring, Peralta hasn't allowed a run over four innings, striking out three while giving up three hits and a walk. He's a likely bet to make the Reds' Opening Day roster in the bullpen as one of their top two lefties.

Manager Joe Maddon wouldn't commit to using Edwards as the Cubs' closer if Brandon Morrow (elbow) and Pedro Strop (hamstring) are both unavailable to begin the season, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports. "[Edwards] is so good at maybe shutting something down in the seventh or eighth [inning], I would not run away from that," Maddon said of Edwards' potential future as a closer.

Morrow is already a safe bet to open the season on the injured list, but Strop's status is more in limbo since he's at least been able to throw off flat ground lately and could clear up any concern about his health by pitching in a Cactus League game or two before spring training closes. In the event Strops fails to progress as hoped, Edwards said he would be ready to fill the ninth-inning role if needed, but Maddon's comments suggest the Cubs could look elsewhere in save situations. With a 15.2 percent career swinging-strike rate, Edwards has often been dominant at times during his four season in the big leagues, but his occasional control problems may prompt Maddon to instead turn to Steve Cishek for save opportunities. Cishek typically works in the low-90s and doesn't overpower hitters like Edwards, but his ability to limit free passes and generate groundballs at a decent clip might make him a less volatile endgame option.

Almonte was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque.

Almonte, who recently transitioned to being a full-time reliever, will serve as organizational bullpen depth in 2019.
