Hoffman was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday, Nick Groke of The Athletic reports.

Chad Bettis (neck) was named the team's fifth starter Sunday, leaving Hoffman to open the season in the Isotopes' rotation. The flamethrowing right-hander posted a 6.63 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 17:5 K:BB through 19 innings this spring. He figures to be one of the next men up should an opening arise in the big-league rotation.

Wilson will start the second game of the season for the Braves, Gabe Burns of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Wilson will follow Julio Teheran in the rotation, making his season debut Saturday against the Phillies. The young right-hander earned a spot in the Opening Day rotation thanks to a strong spring, during which he posted a 3.29 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 13:2 K:BB through 13.2 innings (five appearances). With Mike Foltynewicz (elbow) and Mike Soroka (shoulder) both getting healthier, Wilson may only have until the end of April or so to prove he deserves to stick in the majors.

Hudson fired six scoreless innings in a 4-4 Grapefruit League tie with the Nationals on Saturday, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out three.

Hudson commemorated his recent appointment to the No. 5 spot in the rotation with a dominant outing, pitching a spring-high six innings in what served as an ideal tune-up for the regular season. The 24-year-old right-hander enjoyed a stellar spring overall, as Saturday's performance brought his ERA down to 1.25 and BAA to a miserly .192.

Collins signed a one-year, major-league deal with the Cubs on Sunday but will be optioned to Triple-A Iowa, Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Collins was a non-roster invitee with the Twins this spring and had a 4.91 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 12 strikeouts over 7.1 innings. The 29-year-old had a 4.37 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 21:12 K:BB across 22.2 innings with the Nationals in 2018.

Brebbia will open the season in the Cardinals' bullpen, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.

This isn't all too surprising, as Brebbia owns a 3.00 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 11:1 K:BB through nine frames this spring. The 28-year-old posted a 3.20 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 10.7 K/9 in 50.2 innings out of the big-league bullpen in 2018.

Scott was optioned to Triple-A Reno on Sunday.

Despite posting a respectable 3.38 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 7:3 K:BB through eight innings this spring, Scott was unable to lock down one of the Diamondbacks' final bullpen spots. The southpaw owns a career 3.91 ERA across parts of three major-league campaigns (48.1 innings), making him a candidate to join the big club when a fresh reliever is needed.

Reyes, who will open the season in the bullpen, is likely to be deployed in a various relief roles to start the season, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.

Langosch reports that Reyes will be available to do "just about anything" out of the Cardinals bullpen, which includes serving as an occasional closing option. Given his experience as a starter, Reyes would also fit the bill when there's a multi-inning relief assignment to be filled. Considering elbow and lat injuries have limited Reyes to four innings at the major-league level since 2016, the team will continue to take a reasonably cautious approach with his workload. However, the promising right-hander's robust arsenal of pitches and effectiveness against both sides of the plate both have manager Mike Shildt excited about Reyes' prospects, irrespective of where he slots in on the staff. "It's really special, right?" Shildt said. "You have the different speeds, but also the shape of the pitches and the action of the pitches. You're talking about a legitimate weapon who I feel like, regardless the situation, can be effective."

Arano was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Saturday.

Arano had a brutal spring. Opposing hitters hit .654 against him as he allowed a whopping 20 runs in just four innings of work and finished with a 1:7 K:BB. The 24-year-old could still spend the bulk of the season in the majors if he can get back to the form which led him to a 2.57 ERA through 70 career big-league innings, but he clearly has to sort things out in the minors before returning to Philadelphia.

Bowman was sent to minor-league camp Saturday, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Bowman didn't allow an earned run in six spring innings and recorded a 7:1 K:BB, but that wasn't enough to earn him an Opening Day bullpen spot. He could be up in the big leagues at some point this season but won't be a particularly dangerous weapon there, given his mediocre 4.10 ERA in 149.1 major-league innings.

Scott allowed a walk and two hits in a scoreless third of an inning Saturday against San Francisco.

Scott is seeking one of the final spots in the bullpen and has put forth worthy numbers. He has a 3.38 ERA and 1.13 WHIP with seven strikeouts over eight innings.
