Jansen recorded the last out via strikeout in Friday's 6-3 win over the Phillies, earning his 17th save of the season.

Jansen came into the game after Scott Kingery's two-out RBI single, and retired Andrew Knapp on four pitches. Jansen has been shaky at times this year with a 3.28 ERA and 0.89 WHIP over 24.2 innings. The 31-year-old has converted 17 of 19 save chances this season.

Hicks (2-2) picked up the win in Friday's 2-1 extra-inning victory over the Cubs, walking two and striking out two over two scoreless innings of relief.

The St. Louis closer worked a clean ninth and 10th inning, and was rewarded when Matt Carpenter dropped a bases-loaded hit into the left-field corner in the bottom of the final frame. Hicks now sports a 3.60 ERA and 23:10 K:BB through 20 innings, and he's 11-for-12 in save situations.

Reyes will make his next start for Triple-A Memphis, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Reyes worked 4.1 innings for High-A Palm Beach on Tuesday, and while he pitched to a fair amount of contact, he allowed just one earned run. The right-hander will now toil away at the level closest to the big leagues as he continues to nurse his previously fractured pinkie back to full health. While Reyes is seemingly able to pitch without any limitations of note at this point, he still hasn't been cleared to swing a bat.

Cabrera will remain in the Cardinals' rotation and will make his next start Tuesday against the Reds, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Cabrera had a relatively rocky introduction to the big leagues last Wednesday against the Phillies, allowing three earned runs on five hits and two walks over 3.2 innings while recording five strikeouts. However, the rookie made a good enough impression to leave team brass wanting to see him at the big-league level for at least one more start. "Overall, [Cabrera's] stuff looked way different from what all of us experienced in spring, so that was good to see," president of baseball operations John Mozeliak said. "He clearly has an electric arm, has a chance to really be an exciting pitcher in the big leagues. His ability to start is exciting."

Rusin (back) was activated from the 10-day injured list Friday.

Rusin finished up his rehab assignment Wednesday with an outing for Triple-A Albuquerque and is set to join the big-league club for the first time this season. The left-hander had been nursing a back injury since the beginning of March, though he's finally back to full strength and will aim to get back to his 2017 form, when he posted a 2.65 ERA and 71:19 K:BB over 85 frames.

Stephenson was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday with a cervical strain.

Stephenson apparently sustained the injury Tuesday when he allowed two runs over 1.2 innings versus the Pirates. The move is retroactive to Wednesday so the 26-year-old will be eligible to return June 8, though the severity of the injury remains unclear.

Peralta was called up from Triple-A Louisville on Friday.

Peralta was demoted to Triple-A on Tuesday but can make a quick return to the majors with Robert Stephenson (neck) heading to the injured list. Peralta has a 4.87 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 18:6 K:BB over 20.1 innings this season.

Hammer threw one scoreless inning Thursday against the Cardinals, striking out two batters.

Hammer was brought into the game in the top of the eighth with his team down four runs. The rookie struck out Paul DeJong and Paul Goldschmidt while getting Marcell Ozuna to pop out to end the inning. Hammer has retired all nine batters he's faced thus far in his very brief big-league career, striking out five.

Hader recorded the final out of the eighth inning in Thursday's victory over the Pirates, but was removed from the game after the Brewers scored four runs in the top of the ninth inning to take an 11-5 lead.

Hader was summoned with the Brewers holding a two-run lead, and he retired the only batter he faced via strikeout. He still would have been in line to pick up a save had he remained in the game for the ninth inning, but manager Craig Counsell felt comfortable enough with a six-run lead to take Hader out and save him for other tight spots in the near future. He remains the Brewers' closer.

Jansen picked up the save in a victory over the Mets on Thursday, getting the last four outs of the game (two by strikeout) and allowing only one baserunner on a controversial hit-by-pitch call.

Jansen was called upon to protect a one-run lead with a runner on base and two outs in the eighth inning and promptly struck out pinch hitter Dominic Smith to end the threat. After the Dodgers added an insurance run in the bottom half of the inning, Jansen retired three of the final four batters to close out the game in spite of the questionable hit-by-pitch call that put the tying run on base. After a string of April appearances in which Jansen gave up an earned run in five of seven appearances, he has now held opponents scoreless in nine of his last 10 outings to lower his season ERA to 3.33. He ranks second in the National League with 16 saves.
